My apologies, jonoiv, daemonfox

Did not notice the StartT 1377557876 that you guys posted earlier.
It is so close to the right timing of  StartT 1377557832.

I did not get the right timing until source for coin came out and that took me a little time to figure out how to do.

I notice something was up because I was cpu mining from block 80 I was getting OK amount then all of the sudden not one block was being found. I was finding blocks within seconds but not one block found and minutes pass by, still not one block.

So I soon went to the Thread to see if ppl were having the same trouble. Yes they were and I think it came up that someone is using GPU to mine. I did not wait for the release of dreams GPU miner because I know my compiling skills is 0.  And I saw some post that said the StartT was 1377557876 after it was mentioned during the first day of the relaunch. So I have mined scrypt-jane coins with the scrypt-jane miner at http://rghost.ru/48162507. And was assuming the miner that was being released was going have that info auto in when miner is started. So I did not wait and went to work.

I was getting accepted submits to the Solo mining with that timing but a whole lot of orphans this is
probably the reason is that "My timing was off" by a little.

As soon the right timing StartT 1377557832 was found though source I applied and I was better, still got some orphans but, nothing like I was getting before.

I did not post this because I assumed people were using Dreamwatcher's miner which I thought you would not need to put --Nfmin --Nfmax --StartT. I did not look at the instructions for that one.

Sorry for assuming(ass of u and me) and thinking everything was ok for everyone else.

P.S. cassieheart if you are using the CPU miner for GPL the credit goes to ig0tik3d. He Rocks for that because I will be using that when maybe but has not been confirmed that GPU mining might become less efficient some time down the line. Look at Copperbars CPR.

ig0tik3d thanks again for the first one to post the right StartT

Oh and the instruction on renaming miner sorry that was a force habit when I was teaching. Smiley

You never did, both the miners I published in Github were pre-configured with the correct StartT, Nfmin and Nfmax. So your assumption is correct.  Wink

When people started instructing on how to use ybminer, is when the command line options came up. My CPU miner was based on poolers' cpuminer that I modified to work with scrypt-jane.

Confusing, I know. The miners I put up were something I made to get everybody going. I had not realized that there was a stratum capable CPU scrypt-jane miner that allowed setting of those parameters from the command line.

I have a problem with the UFC pool...

Accessing the edit-workers page on Chrome (not incognito) boots me back to the home page and I become logged out. Is anyone else having this problem? (For now, I'll solo)

So, I joined the GPL pool this week and it seems to be doing well. I'm using the Minerd GPU miner mentioned earlier in this thread. I have no problems with it but I was wondering if there are any performance issues that favors one over the others mentioned here?

Also, I'm trying out the Win64 CPU miner and was wondering if you need to mention the StartT and other values as well when using it? I first started w/o it and then I added those numbers in my batch file. It seemed both worked fine but since it's a first time for me mining scrypt jane, I may be missing something.

If your working on an Marvel themed coin, please consider calling it Adamantium. It would also be interesting if you could copy Primecoin and add in a proof of stake. I think that would be well received but I wouldn't be surprised if someone is already working on doing just that.

I'm enjoying your coins Scificoin. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned next.

I will try to do my part by posting a fresh batch of info on this thread once in awhile.

This is a little different to mine because of the scrypt-jane algorithm.
I have been using this to mine with. (GPU) http://rghost.ru/48162507
Put this somewhere that when using the command prompt it would be easy to navigate to the ybcminer.exe file.
Run this command  line to start GPU mining at the pool:
Code:
ybcminer --scrypt -o gplcoin.com:8888 -u poolworker -p yourpassword --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1377557832 -I 17
Make sure you change the -u poolworker -p yourpassword to the ones
your chosen at the time of registering and setting up your worker(s) at the mining pool.

Get this miner to start CPU mining at the pool:
cpu miner for gpl (win64) (https://mega.co.nz/#!tB5WCT5A!OU_4SmUAKfo0du7fRodoFDA9gCBC4IHHRpNNmXMFcZk)
Put this somewhere that when using the command prompt it would be easy to navigate to the minerd.exe file.
Run this command line to start CPU mining at the pool:
Code:
minerd -a scrypt-jane -o stratum+tcp://gplcoin.com:8888 -u workername -p workerpass
Make sure you change the -u workername -p workerpass to the ones
your chosen at the time of registering and setting up your worker(s) at the mining pool.

Hope that helps newcomers to getting some Star Trek coins. Grin

Due to brief periods of pool mining, playing games and mining other coins... I have JUST NOW mined my 100th total GPL solo... I have almost 90 on the pool as well.

Not too bad... in 19 hours i have solod 20 GPL at this diff and another 3+ on the pool... hoping for some luck these last 5 hours... see if I reach the 30 GPL est the pool showed my hashrate should get in 24 hours.

Important announcement concerning the Gold Pressed Latinum Pool!!

I will be setting the Max threshold for auto payout down to 100 GPL.

A miner recently had a hard time withdrawing a large sum of funds they had accumulated.

The problem is an issue that occurs with all crypto coins when too many inputs make up a transaction.

Remember the pool gets the GPL 0.2  at a time. If one tries to withdraw 1000 GPL that means the transaction will have 5,000 inputs and will fail. The chain simply cannot handle that large of a single transaction.

Thanks for all the support!!

PS...Next post will be a big announcement about explorers  Wink

CCE3 TEST VERSION 3.5  IS ONLINE FOR UFC, KED and GPL!!

CCE3 test version 3.5 block explorers are up:

Federation Credit (UFC)

http://cryptocoinexplorer4.com:4001/

Klingon Darsek (KED)

http://cryptocoinexplorer4.com:5001/

Gold Pressed Latinum (GPL)

http://cryptocoinexplorer4.com:6001/

The server change is due to the need to test the new server environment in the near future.I cannot do this on the current live coin servers. The port addresses are used for now, but once the server environment is ready for testing the addresses will change to the permanent CCE address system (ufc.cryptocoinexplorer.com ... etc) I will post when that is ready.

P.S You can see an example of my previous post at the GPL explorer block: 82167

I did notice one oddity so far... what is the purpose of the big black box at the bottom?

If you aren't using your browser at a certain width or max screen... it overlaps the Market Name Value headers to the right.

Using the links for the top coins held addys works... searching for my own addy copied from my GPL QT... 404s every time even when i put my addy directly into the URL.

FAawKGBwSfMDU8EWmUccUbt2sGnwjYrRXy

EDIT ok weird... the above is the receive address listed in the GPL QT but... the below are the two addresses the coins show as coming in to but are not listed under my Receive Coins tab...

FQiLSsSda3UQAJp7YxbWwJP36HDigfqdFQ
F8qKTeJ3hixDjD8pNXh6AfbEt9S4UnxRaT

Am I missing something?

Looks like we took another 20-30% hit on gpu mining.

So just like copperbars GPU mining gets less efficient.

confirmed... soloing at 1.5MH/s just dropped to flat 1.2MH/s.

Where can we see N Factor... i checked the getmininginfo and getinfo and there is nothing.

I saw the coding posted but i have not sat and looked at it enough to gather how often it adjusts...

The black box is a prototype of one of the extra features to be introduced in test version 4. It is a developers message box. Every coins CCE homepage will have a message box that the coins developer will be able to place messages or information they wish to convey to those using the explorer.

Solo mining addresses are internal and do change after a certain interval, I believe this is the way to works on all the coins. Your client/daemon generates addresses based on ESCDA and the first key pair it generates.
The idea being all one needs is the private key of the first address (Seed address..is a better term) to recover the wallet as the key pool will regenerate the same through ESCDA.
Your wallet of course keeps track of all this, so it kinda lies to you a little bit. It also does this little trick with regular transactions. You cannot split an Input (Sending coins out) internally. So let say for example you send somebody 50 coins. The closest input you have (Transactions sent to you or mined) is a 60 coin output(Transaction) somebody sent you.The client cannot break this input up interally, because the block chain would not have a record of it.
So it sends that input out complete as a 60 coin input with two outputs. the 50 coins you wanted to send to a specific address and the second 10 coin output back to your wallet with one of the unused keys in your key pool.
However, your client/daemon will kinda fib to you and make it appear that only 50 coins came out of the address, when in reality the coins could have been sent by any number of internal addresses and change received back on another hidden address.

The block explorer show exactly what it is the block chain, which in this case would be 60 input 50 out to the address and 10 sent back to a fresh address in your wallet.

Clear as mud???    Grin

Basically the client will show little white lies so you do not have to keep track of all the inputs/outputs and multiple of addresses that your coins are really stored under.

The block explorer will show the block chain in its truthful entirety.

You cleared that up very well... i knew the input output thing... but i never realized solo'd coins have to use a different key pair than your receive address... so thanks for that little lesson.

Running some rough numbers, I wanted to share what my estimate for this coins value is, and what that means to anyone entertaining the idea of selling it early.

While this is in no way a definite, I do feel the below is a good measure of where GPL will sit after a few months of mining and the exchanges get a hold of it.

My 7950 averages about BTC.03 per day on top profit scrypt coins... which is usually about 300% more than BTC mining... sometimes more BTC sometimes less but almost always around 300% more than mining directly.

So, estimating my BTC.03 per day at 3X BTC production means the about 30 GPL i generate per day should also be worth at least BTC.03 per day in order for it to be a competitor at the top of the profit charts.

With that said, it stands to reason, a top price for 1 GPL should max out at around  BTC.001 each at ~.2 difficulty.

My theory, as I have witnessed for coins as they hit exchanges, is that initially... if it were to appear on coinchoose the moment it was listed, it will actually have a profitability 3X that, so, right now, it is a safe estimate, that a single GPL could easily sell for BTC.003 each until they are bought down to BTC.001 where they would level off with top coins. They would continue to slide down coinchoose as hashrate jumped to at least double or triple, rendering profitability to NULL at this exchange rate, but that will not be enough to drive up the price. Hashrate will leave again, difficulty will drop back to ~.2 and the price should only dip slightly to about BTC.0007 landing it at about 200% profitability, where most coins linger daily.

So, in conclusion, your GPL will level off at a value of BTC.0007 each, and until they are on an exchange, will most likely trade for 1/10th of that. In summation, do not buy GPL for more than BTC.0007 each, and do not part with yours for less than BTC.00007 each, as this should be the floor, and by doing so, will make sure GPL holders refuse to part with their bars for less than 7000 Satoshis.

@daemonfox

Nice summary of your est. GPL

What do think if hits the LTC market like Cryptsy has been doing with most of their coin releases to their exchange.

Copperbars is doing well at the Cryptsy exchange. Currently asking 3.6 LTC but I know block reward is .0064 CPR. And the current diff. is 0.28001025.

Thanks daemonfox for the info Cheesy

Just me speculating, but knowing how IgOtSpots has been in the past... I have bets on him ASKING for CPR to be in the LTC market, so he would have a coin in each.

For the most part, the onyl reason coins go into the LTC market are that the dev and community ask for it, the coin is the same as another BTC coin but some small difference or smaller support and when a coin has such a large amount fo coins and low value, it drops to a single Satoshi.

GPL should get a nice spot for Cryptsy BTC as long as it is not requested to go straight to LTC.

Also, note that not a single scrypt-Jane coin has yet to be added to LTC, mostly because the amount of miners who want to take the time to compile a miner, or understand how to optimize GPU scrypt jane mining are a far cry from the amount  of mainstream scrypt miners. This gives us a bit of an edge in the decision... as supply is now steady and predictable, and makes a consistent value possible. Should make for a good BTC exchangeable coin.
