Investing for the long term does have risks. So you must really be able to buy coins that have great potential in the future. I think you have to buy Altcoin at the top 10 coins. Like Ethereum, EOS, Stellar and XRP some of these coins, in my opinion, have good potential.

Agree, there are many other coins who has active developments but they cannot manage to reach their volumes in the market. Of course, the first 10 is always good but at the same time, we need to check other coins whose volumes are also very good in the market with active developments from their concerned teams.

yeah really agree that quant is technology has a centralized product so it is very good for long term investment, its existence also very good in this industry so it really has the potential higher profit in the future

ESH is a nice hidden gem, it has just been built and has great support. This will be the new etherdelta but bigger and better. Never heard of MNX so can't comment on that. I'd recommend LISK as a good long term hodl, as their SDK is coming soon for DAPPS development

From my point of view BNK is the coin to be hold. At the moment price is low (due to current market situation, all altcoins are in red), and the most important factor is that there was already existence of Bankera' product. So we know it's legit. And the interesting part is , as per the roadmap, Bankera is set to become world's first crypto bank in 2020.
So just put some money here( not more than 10% of your budget) and sit relax for almost two years for achieving good gains.

Because not all that list in the market is great, you are the only can find out what is the great coin to invest by searching and understand the benefits of that coin.

holding will be the first and foremost thing for a person to get the prophet Moses and it will be the Assurance also so if you are a newbie the investment on any altcoins will be profitable but my opinion is ethereum be very helpful to trust and make it profitable also very easily.

If you want to hold the long term, then I suggest keeping Bitcoin and Ethereum. You can also look at more reputable ICO.

I think you should have some Ethereum, Cardano, NEO and IOTA in the begging. All of them are great projects, I have invested in all of them and the returns are very good so far.

ETH has a big number of support and it's really obvious, so maybe it's also the reason why whales love to play with ETH.

Price at dump last year and now still hasn't recovered, but I believe it will recover because this is a big coin, bigger news are already coming, so this will not stay this low. Look always on the opportunity and consider ETH as an undervalued coin.
