A series of of announcement from China, South Korea and India that they curve BTC really affect the price. Now Facebook riding on the same train with three giants countries this will bring more blow to the price of btc. I have just in my mind that these series of attack is just a marketing strategy to bring down the price so that new coins/tokens generation could root in the market or it is just a price manipulation to secure a better profit after investing on BTC at the lower price. We can still expect that the price of btc will bring back to its peak.
Anyhow these kind of market shaking could bring fortune also to the new-small investors/traders.

The big investors from Wall street are primarily behind this latest decline in the price. There are a lot of these people invested in Bitcoin Futures and they are using other people's money to manipulate the Bitcoin price, to protect their investments in these Bitcoin Futures.

The announcement that Facebook are banning Crypto currency and ICO advertising, cannot be the main reason for this drop in the price. ^grrrrrrrr^

Me too. During the latest bull run to $19K I'm constantly worried that I might never be able to acquire Bitcoin again, that I might too late to the train. This is all because I'm currently not holding enough Bitcoin. I feel that I need to hold more for my future self.

Now this correction is giving me chance to acquire more, to buy and earn more Bitcoin. I'm happy with the price going down because my main action now is buy and hold instead of selling. Price pump doesn't really excites me, good development does.

I sharenyour sentiment, in that btc took a shortcut last december to 20k. I still feel this is healthy for bitcoin even if this goes to 8k

I believe that 2018 will be the year cryptos will become heavily regulated and I am wondering if this will really help drawing in new investors, which is an absolute prerequisite for prices to grow. The incredible surge of 2017 was caused by an enormous hype in the mainstream media, currently there is only talks about the negative sides of BTC. If this trend does not reverse I see dark times ahead.

Yea but Bitcoin is 9 years old now! Everything you just said folks said the last time it went from 1200 to 200. Anyone who has been around long enough has seen this exact thing play out many times.

It's a hype cycle but for 9 years everytime it recovers from the loss of hype it blows up even higher because it's one of the greatest inventions of our generation!

Yes thats true bitcoin is for long term investments and been proven for 9 long years.Though there were many speculations that bitcoin will fall all we do is to have positivity inorder not to do panic selling that will cause price to dumps..in these trying times of bitcoin and for bitcoin holders this is the best time to buy btc at a low price because i believe that it will continue to its journey for long due to mass adoption that increases its demand that will cause price to rise again.

Bitcoins are very well priced to buy and hold for a long time. When the market recovers, you will not be able to buy the bitcoin at the current price. Speculators have bought enough bitcoin and the time to return the bitcoin pump is very close.

I guess that's the spirit of a true believer. I agree with you, most of the retail investors that brought the price up, didn't really understood bitcoin. They just start hearing about it, saw it was worth nothing in 2009, and slowly increased over the years, and then it was finally booming in 2017. All they saw was the potencial to profit, and bought at the top. Since they didn't made any research, they think it's over and are selling like crazy. A few stayed and the initial holders, plus the few new holders, are keeping the price where it is now. Eventually a new boom will happen, probably because of the lightning network, or ETFs, or whatever, and the cycle will repeat. We will probably continue this way, until everyone that buys bitcoin, know what they are doing, and becomes a true holder.

This newly repeated opportunity is wonderful. The whales are enjoying right now because they can fill their portfolio because of the manipulation that had played its part. We are witnessing the beginning of the great growth. You sure are an optimistic person, but yes bitcoin is a sleeping giant, it still wait for the right time to go up, but its not going to happen soon, aa you can see there are still pressure from everywhere, from the users that demand faster transactions and reduction fee, from the investors that invest the money in alt coins and from the government that looking way to regulate bitcoin, once every thing can be settle then bitcoin will back to it's prime condition
