The same situation is also with Google, Twitter and Russian Yandex.
It's not profitable for them to ban advertising. I guess they were told to do so be their countries' gov-s.
But there is also some pros to this. E.g. there will be less scam ICOs advertising and scam projects will have less chances to deceive people.

Well it is really stupid that all these big social giants are banning ICO adverts. If they wanted to have a tier system of what kind of ICOS could advertise, I get that, but a blanket ban is really idiotic. Anyway this could pave the way for more decentralized social networks to start competing with these Social Giants and at least by taking some of the market share, they can also advertise ICOS as well. I wish I could actually leave FB behind because I hardly use it anyway and would prefer to use another social network, if it weren't for my family abroad using FB.

The battle between the giants is long-lasting. I do not think it started yet. now the giants should be following the principle that '' be closer to your enemy close to your friend ''  Cool

Not all adverts are legit and this is a fact that we all know very well. That's why Facebook has banned cryptoadvertising. They want to clamp down on Fraud/Scam and slowly try to remove their options in scamming others.

This is quite true as there has been an out cry about scams where people lose lots of money to ilegit projects, i think Facebook is attempting to reduce scam other than fight crypto

This is one imaginary war, because how does one relate banning ads to everything crypto? With crypto being at such a nascent stage, bringing in innovation and changing technology at a global scale, there are bound to be experimental changes in policies all around, till a secure stage and shape is reached.

No one can't stop crypto from its significant growth, its just the beginning because some community will try to stop the growth of crypto in any way. But it could be the game of whales, which want to crush the price to get low prices.

You might have seen the following news

https://www.recode.net/2018/1/30/16950926/facebook-mark-zuckerberg-bans-crypto-advertising-bitcoin-james-altucher

So facebook bans cryto advertisement. is it an effort to destroy crypto currency that they fear can free the humanity from the Govt banking system.

Facebook only ban advertising about ICOs. Its happen because many report about scam ICOs and company like facebook and google decide to ban advertising about ICOs to prevent people get scammed. I think it give no effect on crypto market
Really it will effect the price growth of the crypto currencies and will late more time if there is no advertisements in social medias and still it is not cleat that what kind of ban was implemented on facebook because individuals are also can't do more posts if they do then their account will be disabled.

There is no doubt that the use of cryptocurrency will have a significant growth in the future and bitcoin will be leading the platform,i am not certain about the rest of the coins and facebook is an advertisement platform and there were many scams that were being advertised with the help of social media and scammed innocent users and in order to tackle that situation there is nothing wrong in stopping taking advertisement from ICO and being a company that wanted to protect its users they have the right to determine what kind of advertisement is shown.

No, facebook is afraid that they may lose million of their subscribers to subscribe to btc that is why they ban it.. When I didnt knew bitcoin I do facebook all day, but now that I am here in bitcoin.. I leave facebook to work in bitcoin.
I really cannot understand the correlation between a social media site and bitcoin, it looks like you were working for facebook and now you resigned the position and started working in bitcoin and so they are pissed off at the situation. Tongue Grin  The real reason is said above and not that they are worried about loosing customers. Tongue

Well, given the enormous interests that are at stake, a struggle for power seems to me the least we could expect.
And obviously the big players want to participate. We'll see how it ends.

I think, two options here. Or the centralized finance tries to suppress the decentralized cryptomarket at the very beginning of the development or, at least, to subordinate the cryptomarket under the control. Or whales in one environment with owners of media Internet giant and social networks, or whales are also co-owners of Internet corporations. And then we observe obvious attempt of manipulation of the market by means of media and social networks.

The real war has not yet begun, because the various subjects in the field are still trying to understand if it's worth it and what are the developments that the world of crypto will have.
When the big ones will REALLY start to get scared, then we'll see a bloodbath.

Of course crypto and decentralization are headed by goverments and supergoverment structures. But these advertisement bans are just to make crypto world not so dirty - because big money want to come into crypto but only on clean and transparent level. Too much scam and stupid ICOs - here we have a result. And it is good

Many news are being wrote in really near-lying jenre because they get one phrase from the context and try to build all the article depending on it.
And this post is just the example. As I know, there took place only fraud and scam ICOs banning, but there was no speech about banning crypto especially banning bitcoin. So this is kind of fud as for me

Yeah. Some popular and famous persons (Elon Musk for example) have recently deleted the FB account.
I think now it's more important problem for FB.

Cryptocurrencies are not linked to social media or advertising. It is a global revolution! It cannot be stopped by either governments, institutions or banks. People can choose to adopt or not a cryptocurrency. I'm definitely betting on Crypto side in the war! Wink
