Copyright infringement is against the law, I'm sure you know this so if you're trying to be smart, try harder. If you mean those pornographic thumbnails and profile pics, just think for a second. Those get us thrown off the android and apple appstore, same goes for copyrighted stuff. It's already happened once and lawyers are bloody expensive. Right now we move everything pornographic to xxx.bit.tube anyway so it doesn't show on normal bit.tube or the app. We don't actually remove videos unless we have to.

I would guess its the devs\members work.
I was present at the telegram channel where one of them said "ok time to pump it a bit"
and it pumped.

So as long as they got all of our backs ill guess we'll be fine. (they are probably protecting the support levels)

Why does everything have to be a conspiracy.

The support right now is mostly held by production cost. Much lower and it's not profitable to mine, hence miners aren't dumping it to 500 sat, that just wouldn't make sense.

There is just a discussion going on about backdoors that provide the creators of smart contract applications to shut them down even though they claim it is decentralized. Will your app be censorship resistance or is there any way for you to intervene?

i have no idea what this is about.. our app is not a smart contract same way the youtube app or windows is not a smart contract.

No why would anyone put video on a blockchain? A blockchain is just a very, very slow database, this would be horrible.
Our blockchain is used for the cryptocurrency TUBE. The video data is on IPFS, it's decentralized storage sort of like bittorrent but more advanced. Everyone on bit.tube is a storage node instantly, it works automatically in the browser. That's the magic trick, you don't have to download anything.
As for your question, videos can be unpublished when they violate copyright, we have to abide by the law, we don't want to end up like the pirate bay. But this is a centralization and censorship issue so later we want to put the community in charge of copyright review & reports/disputes so that part is more decentralized. But we have to build that in the next months.

There are challenges, certainly. But remember ipfs is an open source protocol. Tube's ipfs system is 60% original code. So if there are problem with ipfs they are all situation specific. If you find a link on what you're talking about maybe I can clarify. Anyway we wouldn't be using ipfs otherwise, we're not stupid.

As for blockchain, you clearly don't understand how a blockchain works. The point of it is that every node has a copy of the entire chain to verify the validity of the data. So how would you like to store petabytes of data on every computer? This is not the purpose for blockchains. You can store the metadata on a blockchain but the video has to go on a server, ipfs or torrent. Besides if your app+content lives on the wider ipfs like bittube, it can't be taken down either. Videos can be unpublished but it's never truly gone if u have the ipfs hash.
