I agree to remove the ICOs scam that pops everywhere on this platform. On the other side, I do not agree to make a systematic decision to penalize the legit businesses like Coinbase on the crypto space.

I didn't see this coming because Facebook never usually turns down a quick bit of cash on a fad. Honestly it won't impact too much because you can just create good content to be shared by bounty campaigns or shared in groups.

Just really shooting themselves in the foot and losing some revenue. Personally I just think it is a marketing campaign to seem more moral after the whole Russia election scandal.

The normal solution. A lot of garbage from this advertisement. This is definitely a good step from the administration for me personally

Facebook is one of the most influencial socialmedia platform thats why most of the people in the U.S were being protected by facebook,in my own opinion facebook is really doing what the U.S government tell them to do,SEC prohibited U.S citizens from joining ICOs thats why facebook is just following what SEC's regulation about ICOs,because most of the ICOs today are just raising a lot of funds and will eventually run away from these investors. If you really read the facebook's TOS it doesnt mean posting or sharing links with crypto-related topic using your profile will get you banned they will only stop accepting PAID-ADVERTISEMENTS with these ICOs,you still can post and share links of ICOs in your own profiles.

According to my opinion, this is due to the fact that a lot of ICOs that people advertised were fraud and people complained, so now they will filter out the advertising of various projects. Facebook is just being protective to its users and there is nothing new about this ban. i guess, Mark zuckerberg really intended to have his own cryptocurrency but U.S government might be holding his kneck right now thats why he did this.

I agree the banning of ICO's in facebook they are so many ico advertising when you open your facebook account, most of them are scam like bitconnect but sad to say maybe no more facebook campaign for bounty hunters.

Promoting ICOs through facebook or twitter doesn't require too much efforts so many scam project use this way to get new victims with an advertisements. But I also think that every social network should be free for any activity...

This prohibition is promoted by false ICOs. On the one hand, this ban is the right decision. But on the other hand, honest ICO suffer from this. But so far this ban concerns targeting advertising.

I see someone already discussed this is the services section but everyone states that still sharing the information in Facebook and explain it can be done bro.
I too noticed this news, actually Facebook does not want the binary signals, bitcoin and ICO related advertisements on the Facebook and even on their sister firm Instagram. This will be there till the bitcoin become legalized after they may withdraw this implementation.

As far as I understand from the article, they only forbid pay-per-view advertising on Facebook and Instagram. Advertising is sometimes a lot. But in general this will not change anything. There will be groups, there will be reposts, there will be announcements and news. Perhaps in the hands of scammers will get fewer people.

Don't they banned just paid ads??
I think we all can post freely about ICOs!
IMO they can't delete my post/voice/opinion for nothing.

Facebook is subject to the US government, which banned the ICO. The tape is easy account that is not associated with cryptocurrency is not to watch so that at least a few times, not to see ads associated with another ICO of course many find it annoying. So there is lots of fraudulent companies.

Facebook sees that the share of spam has increased due to the growing interest in crypto-currencies. But I do not understand how this can harm them. On the contrary, more and more people are beginning to use facebook. Well, if Facebook only prohibits fraudulent projects, then I "take off my hat" before Mark Zuckerberg)))
