Merit system is not working, failed!

I see merit point is currently still very rarely used, could be said to us as a user who is stingy. But I am sure over time all things can be improved and also will be a much better implementation. Merit is the subject of discussion at this time, there are people who feel harmed and some are not. But the real shape is now we have very rarely see post shit, everything gets better and all users try to make the post useful and much more qualified than ever before.

I noticed too that post quality improved, people at least try to write something meaningful if slight hope to get noticed and rewarded. But it is not widely used indeed. I like to see topics where High-rank members are trying to help Jr. members to rank up. Some doing opposite and helping other Sr. members. They have their own reasoning behind it and as long it is not against rules (more of against common sense though) it doesn't hurt.

Uhh, that's why they're newbies? I'm not taking their side, its just that you might want to take it into consideration at some point (instant ban, that's pretty harsh TBH). If you don't like what you see, then report them. But on the other hand just help them, and what I mean is that, don't just provide them what they need - guide them to what they have to do.

Or filter out everybody who writes English like a 4-year old but has a legendary / full member-status. I seem to come upon those a lot lately.

English isn't my native language but at least try to do some effort. I improved my English by watching the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Also improved my Carlton-dance-moves.

If you realized it by now, the ranking system back then was not taken into effect, its like just how long have you been here (thanks to the Merit System then).

Like you've said, maybe English is not their native language. But you're right they have to make some effort if they wanted to improve.

I'm quite harsh because I got permanently banned from the forum without any warning before. I learnt the hard way, nobody warned me... On the other hand, I don't think many new members will go and read all the rules before posting, but only posting 'when lambo' or 'when airdrop' is just stupid, it implies that the poster is lazy as fuck and doesn't even make the smallest effort... Like looking 2 posts up on the thread.

About spam and shitpost, the only result of the merit system is that now people create more and more accounts just to make more and more shitpost, just to earn some cheap money aven at jr.level.

Maybe  thymos teaches us how to become generous to the other members. Keeping that sMerits will never be included with your merits rather than that we are going to share it and it Will come come back to the next sMerit. If your  lucky to have so many sMerit then just share it to everybody with whom you choose deserving with their posts. Dont be afraid of doing it so, if it Will Help others to level UP. He is probably referring to the fact that we have the majority of merit points. At the end of the day you shouldn't really need a high rank unless you need to post a lot and there is already a solution for that, copper members. The fact that people complain so much about merit means it is actually working.

I think we all must slow down with all this "merit problem". For this isn't even real. There is no problem at all.
Here in the forum there is a lot of people, thousands of them. And, everyday, we can read more and more topics related to merits which are, as less, wrong. Even when I can understand who it seems too difficult for newbies to reach a position here, it has been difficult for years.
The forum is being contaminated more and more by new posters who just want to earn some money here and, instead of new writers wanting to get some information. If all that you want here is to earn some cash, then they are a lot of other websites where you can provide your services in order to achieve that goal.

Precisely, newbies concern seems to be, almost all, how to rank out here, instead of how to earn bitcoin or learning about trading. This  is not a place just meant to earn, but a place meant to learn.

I agree, theymos wants eliminate/lessen the redundancy of threads and replies that's why they create this merit system. I think this is very effective, because thru help of this merit system more participants now are conducting research before posting. I observed it because most of the posts I read now have a lot of senses, moreover the posts now I read had more constructive compared before.

I understand the aim but claming that posters now research before posting isn't true.

Check out ANY thread and look for researched posts. They are still a big minority between the 'when airdrop' and 'why this coin so low' kind of posts.

People who complain against System Merit are those who do not have the capacity and desire to be better. Though directly merit system has made us motivated to be able to make a quality post, in essence we are required to contribute to this forum. I admit it is heavy, but we have to respond positively. For someone who really wants a serious concentration to learn Bitcoin and cryptocurrency then merit points can help us to cultivate cryptocurrency much better. Believe that when we do our best then we will also get a satisfactory result. Just imagine when the merit system is not enforced, we will not be serious and maybe our goal is just getting the money alone without any desire to learn Bitcoin much better. In fact we can see that the condition of the current BTT forum is much better than before.

Regarding lack of merits to give, one option to increase the merits in circulation is by increasing the number of merit sources. Now the admin is already doing so and he might be finding it hard to find more responsible and honest members for this task. This roles comes with a lot of power and should not go in wrong hands. I think better solution is increasing the number of merits allotted to each merit source. They should have plenty of merits to give to members.

With current stats and rules, only thing we can do is that make some good posts and then expect merits. This will also give us Smerits which we can give to others.

Laws best results come after six months to one year, though there are some changes that might happen during this months due to some factors, like what you said it is not moving, reason is its important not to just give and give your merits, since it is not auto-replenished every week nor months, but mod may find ways how people are encouraged to give merits to those who deserve it.

I agree with you, seems no 2 can not create constructive post by now, i hope he/she grind his/her lessons well to improve his/her self. And i am glad too that right now rank is something achieved rather than just something will come to us based on time. It really gives a kind of satisfaction if you achieve the ranks with your hard work.

It is ironic that there are many such members in the forum, they are the seniors who succeeded in going to level up not because of their quality but only because of activities that have qualified for the level. Well, that was before the existence of this merit system of course, now this is another story. So, what about spammers who have already reached the highest level? I do not consider myself good, I admit I am still learning and still need a lot of improvement. well, I just hope the future there is a rule that allows members of the forum to downgrade their ranks if not reaching the target of merit.

Moreover, merit system has performed good, and contributed changing the forum better.
Therefore, the topic itself is a shitty ones, which came from shitposters, who are not able to earn merit via merit-deserved threads.
