Why do you want high price of bitcoin after all?

At first I want to say: Read my post carefully and don't spam.
We all wanted high price, higher than 1000$ and got it, we got even 19k and there people were hoping more than 20K, they think like it's infinitive.
Did so high price do a good job? No, higher satoshi/byte fees became even higher in value because of price rise, some exchangers closed registration and etc. In reality there was no need of 19k but I think currently it's best to see price between 5000-8000$. There isn't so much demand.
You want high price to get much from holding? Seems you hang on bitcoin and are only selfish.

Not sure you're speaking for everyone here, but surely you can expect that it's only natural for people who hold Bitcoin that they would want the highest possible price. But you can't ignore that there have been people who prefer the price to stay within a "stable", more predictable range, for longer periods of time. Even that's selfish, and I speak for myself, having only a really modest sum and as an earner in bitcoin. I want the "high price" but not now. Every coin I can earn when the price is low, is a coin that's worth more next year, two years from now if it can return to its old ATH from December.

But you can't blame basic economics for working out, I guess. Demand outstripped exchanges' ability to supply, people were willing to pay premiums... and then people panicked and decided they changed their minds... price corresponded. So not many people had the stomach for holding, after all. Everyone acts selfishly, was there any reason to expect otherwise?

Yes its true that as the price of bitcoin is going up, the transaction fee of bitcoin is going up to - directly proportional but they are doing some new technologies that will solve the problems of bitcoin like the Lightning Network which is not yet implemented.

Yes you can call it selfishness or what ever you want, but I agree with the post of Slow Death that as an investors we need to get the highest possible profit  that we can because that is the main reason why do we invest. To gain profit right? What is the difference of being in the 19k price of bitcoin and in the 5k-8k?? Maybe the fees yes but say that to the investors who bought bitcoin at that 19k price. They will say "We want the price of bitcoin to go high" like this and like that. All of us wants profit so don't say that we don't want the high price of bitcoin.

Yes the higher the price of bitcoin get a bigger value of it on dollars. Bitcoin has unstable price we are lucky if price gets high so that we can get a higher profit on it.

     I think aiming a higher price and getting more profit is not selfishness. Maybe it depends on the situation and status of everyone.More people want job to earn because they need for the seek of their family and when bitcoin exist they grab it. They need income and everyone here and those investors want a higher price to gain more profit. Because if they buy bitcoin $15000 then suddenly price fall to $8000,ofcourse they get lost their investment that's why we want a higher price. We have become speculators and this is just part of the human nature. We wanted to have a ride with something and we wanted to get more profits as much as we can. Call it selfishness but this is a big reality we have to contend with not just with cryptocurrency but any investment vehicle for that matter. In fact, many people entered Bitcoin ATH all because they think that they can gain something out of what they invested. There is nothing we can do to change this kind of attitude. In the process, we might loss money because even kites will have to go down sometime somehow until it can find another opportunity to fly again.

To some level I support the price to rise and to a point again I like the new change. You know if you bought bitcoin when the price was above $17000 you will wish for the price to go high even more then $30000 so as to make again. But with the new price drop I notice that transactions fee has also drop compared to the high transaction fee we where having late December where we were charged high fee on small amount of transactions.

There is much difference between wishing for a good profit and being greedy.Nowadays,most of the bitcoin holders have become greedy.When its price reached $1,000,they expected the price of $2,000 and when it was reached,they expected $5,000 and even when bitcoin price reached $20,000,still they didn't get satisfied and aim at $50,000 or $100,000.

Their desire goes towards infinity.With bitcoin popularity getting more,more greedy people seem to enter the bitcoin network.

For me I want high price of bitcoin not for my own good its for the good of the people who depend on it.  And for me too of course for the future I don't want to depend on it maybe some yes. The higher the price, the more news it gets and adoption increases. To me, that's why a high price is good.

This is not applicable everytime, the Bitcoins price doesnt matter as long as you dont have holdings or any source of income here to pursue. I have enetered weekly salary campaign here and thats the time when Bitcoin's price matter cuase the high the amount of the Bitcoin for example today I can obtain a better profit, if I font have any earnings of course it doesnt affects me at all.

This is the problem with everything valued against Bitcoins. In turn, when the price of bitcoin falls, then most (almost all) of the alts fall with it. We really need to start valuing the coins on exchanges with fiat currencies. Then, if the price of bitcoin falls, it won't have an impact on the price of other alts. So right now, yes of course we want high price for bitcoins. In the future, I would rather have it stabilize.

I may be wrong of course, but I disagree with this way of thinking. IMO all crypto currencies are independent objects and the fact that on most exchanges their price is shown in BTC has nothing to do with their falling when Bitcoin price is falling. Don't forget that crypto trading goes on 24/7 and if investors find a coin worth investing they do it regardless of the current Bitcoin price. This is what happened to Litecoin, for example, in the last 24 hours, it's price in USD has risen 11% while Bitcoin price has dropped 4.5%.

I think it's investors, who bought a lot of BTC while its price was increasing are now feeling the loss and hoping for price recovery. To the ones who has been holding bitcoins for years transaction costs and duration are much more important things. I don't feel upset about the situation now, it will increase demand, so BTC won't appear at the bottom anyway.

Well as a holder of Bitcoin, I will definitely want to have a huge value of bitcoin in order for my investment to increase, and base on what I noticed, I think that most of the altcoins are relying also to the value of Bitcoin, because when bitcoin fluctuate other coin will do too.

@OP the points you have said is good,but what if you are an investor and you have invested a lot of money in it,the price is an important factor and this is the main reason people are considering to invest in it as you could multiply your wealth in a short time,i like the current price levels especially because of the higher transaction charges,but once it goes down i would like to see another rally.

I'm okay with the current price, a major correction is required some time to give an opportunity for everyone who wants to buy bitcoin at a cheaper rate.
It's a normal thing as bitcoin ever worth less than $1 but increases over time due to the demand. Since bitcoin price pumped significantly, it almost impossible to send bitcoin if you don't pay a high fee which is annoying and now you can send $1000 with $0.5 fee
However, mining business requires profits from bitcoin price, if it doesn't increase, then mining won't profitable for miners as they have purchased the equipment and all the hardware at the high price, it will take a long time to achieve ROI.

The truth is that, many of us here were expecting greater profit. And we also seeing bitcoin as something that is not worth spending but worth holding. Bitcoin much more a gold right now, it is an ever increasing asset which value rise due time. It would be nice if bitcoin will continue becoming a volatile coin, this what make people attracted and makes it demand higher.

For me higher price means there are a lot of people interested in that coin, when there are a lot of people interested in that coin, that coin will create more popularity and maybe some big company could adopted the coin, but after I give a thought I think the price of bitcoin still in a great zone, many of us hope that bitcoin would go higher because we want to get richer easier

It was quite a run and there was a lot of hysteria around the price continuing upwards, if anything it did introduce a lot of new people to bitcoin and in turn they will discover the whole crypto world which is great.  It also exposed the issue with the fees which otherwise might not have been as much in the forefront if the price did not get as high.

I think we will see those levels again soon.
