As I see, the companies that bought license from bustabit are those who are active on bitcointalk and care about responses from bitcointalk users and about their reputation on this forum. Otherwise, no one cares about that.

That only companies that have licensed bustabit pay attention to their reputation here in the forum is of course not true, but I'm sure you didn't mean it that way

I partly meant that cause this is reality, some really buy their script to just appear good here and that's normal and personally I appreciate that at some point. I hate that nowadays some casinos that don't run crypto business and aren't in touch with bitcointalk, use bustabit code without paying them.

Our forum has quite some weight in the cryptogambling area.  If you google for platforms you will quickly find posts and threads here.  So accusations or a bad image will lead directly to the fact that potential customers will jump off immediately.  So it is definitely worthwhile to be active for a platform here and to keep a positive image.

Yeah, it has weight and that's good. Because of this reason, a lot of users got funds that they deserved ( I mean scam accusations against some casinos, without them users' funds were just lost).

RHavar, you were original author of the Bustabit v1 code right? Did you ever consider trying to apply for a patent or any form of intellectual property?

That's a good question and I was really interested in that. Seems, his answer is following:

It was maybe a mistake, but bustabit never tried to control the game-concept (i.e. there's no patents or anything like that), just a copyright on the actual code that bustabit uses.

IMO the reason why this place is such an important place for all gamblers and also most of casinos is the fact that this places was the start of crypto discussions and that is why it was seriously important for a long period of time and even today (and I believe in the future as well). Think about it, satoshi was here, all the people he worked with was here, all the people who helped satoshi perfect the blockchain was here, the guy who bought pizza for 10k bitcoin was here.

So, I would say that it is quite important to actually care for bitcointalk because people come here and talk about companies, if a company scams you or you think they did something wrong they come here and they make a complaint and that casino might even be in trouble because of that.

Bustabit has taken a small dent on the Bankroll, as I noticed on my investment this morning.

We have also seen some side action of Rock Paper Scissors

Do you have examples of such casinos? I haven't seen anything like that yet, but I think it's also quite cheeky to use something but not to pay any fees for e.g. the scripts. There might even be a thread in the Accusations-Board here in the forum appropriate.

I suggested @efialtis that he could add such a feature to www.btcgosu.com (his plattform where he compares all the different crypto gambling sites, definitely worth a look). Then you would also see statistics about the used BTC etc. He lists a lot more casinos, even relatively new ones like wolf.bet.

It goes into the bankroll. The bankroll is owned by people who have "invested" in it (everyone has a stake, which represents what % of the bankroll they own). Bustabit itself charges 50% of all the bankroll-profits when ever it exceeds the historical "all time high" profit.


So a worked example:

 Say the bankroll is 1000 BTC. Then someone bets and wins 10 BTC.  They win from the bankroll, so the bankroll is 990 BTC. All investors stake remains the same. Now someone bets and loses 100 BTC. The bankroll would normally go: 990 + 100  = 1090 BTC. Except bustabit (aka Daniel) will want his cut. So he'd take 50% of the amount it's exceeded the historical highest profit. So in this case it'd be 50% of 90 BTC  = 45 BTC. So the bankroll will actually increase by 100 - 45 = 55 BTC, i.e. the new bankroll will be 990 + 45 = 1035 BTC.


So in summary:

When you invest or divest you get a % ownership of the bankroll (which adjusts other peoples % ownership). When players win, they win from the bankroll. When players lose, they lose to the bankroll (and bustabit's commission).

Hey my Bustabit username is Loophole121 , I  joined Bustabit and when i was registering i clicked the "I don’t want a way to recover my account. If I forget my password, please lock my account permanently." option because i thought that i was able to make my own password on the next page not seeing that they have already given me a preset password that i didnt copy down.This was completely my fault but i could've sworn Bustabit didn't require password to withdraw back then so i didn't think much of it.

I was wondering if i could seek some assistance from the creator of the game on this thread to manually reset my password. If requested i can request proof that it is indeed my account , i have the IP address that was used to create the account on a ss and i also can take a picture of my Bitcoin wallet that i deposited from.

I still have access to the account but i just cannot withdraw anything without the password i dont have , i currently only have 18k bits in the account but there's no point in playing if i cannot withdraw any of the bits. May i please get some assistance so i can continue playing. I've contacted support about this already but i wasn't sure if that was going to reach them. I've heard of many cases of people being able to reset your password back then but i also heard that there's a new owner to the site.

Yeah everyone makes money this way, the bankroll takes the risk but also gets the biggest profit, devan is basically the owner of the whole website and could do whatever he wants at anytime he wants yet he still gives the lion share to investors which is a nice gesture, and gamblers do end up gambling a lot more this way because everyone is bankroll and that means bigger betting and more fun.

Investing into bustabit for long term has always been a great profitable thing, obviously it is gambling and there are times when it is not as profitable as it is on other times and there are moments whales end up winning a ton of money that causes you to lose, but in the end house always wins and your profit will always rise if you could just wait long enough time to take out your profit.

Nobody should expect to come in, invest and double their money in a few weeks/months...
Its all about patience and being on the house side of things, still gambling but youre on the side of the house!

I feel like everyone should actually read those fine prints when they are registering, be careful about what you are doing, this is a financial matter and if you are not careful you could actually lose all of your money. You have only 18k bits and that is fine and all but what if you had tens of bitcoin involved? That would have been catastrophic and you couldn't recover it and that would be the end of it.

I think devans will definitely help you out if he can, as long as he is capable of helping he has always helped everyone so far and never seen him left anyone without any help, but that doesn't mean he can, we don't know if he can, maybe what you did was an automatic thing and he can't help it even if he wants to? I don't know if that is the case but you should be more careful next time.

Devans will always help you if you get locked out of your account if you can provide enough proof its actually your account. I mean if you can provide IPs that you played from, deposit addresses/times or any other thing to verify its your account Daniel will help, but of course if you cant answer any of the questions maybe that account just isnt yours

I've been on Bustadice/Bustabit for almost a year now and remember that I needed a password when I made my first widhdrawals. So don't think that this security feature was introduced only recently.

But of course it doesn't matter now, if I were you I would write to devans here in the forum via PM, he is relatively active and can - if technically possible at all - surely help you quickly.
It's quite possible that you will have to sign a transaction from your wallet to prove that you actually have the private keys. If you don't know how to do this yet, here is a guide for Electrum: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/guides/how-to-sign-a-message-with-electrum/

^That is the tough thing about trying to get into your own account. Normally, you would want it to be easy so you can get into your account easily, you will want it to be just few clicks and you get into it, yet you also want security that nobody else can get into your account don't you? That means it has to be a little tougher than you for everyone else and that is not possible so it gets harder for everyone. Now when you lose something and have hard time getting into it or just can't, you have to both get in and get help from devans but you also would want that to be incredibly difficult to prove in order to make sure someone else wouldn't get into your account easily, so you would want devans to ask you to provide a ton of stuff to make sure you do get in but nobody else gets in.
