As anything that has to to come into acceptance, it has to go through some challenges, the crypto world is seeing a high influx of people, so most definitely some adjustments has to be made to be able to handle the transactions. Maybe now it cant be used for everyday buying and selling, but its possible it can be in the future.
All I can say is, this could probably be happen if cryptocurrency will become legally issued in your country or even worldwide. This could be possibly be happen bit yes it would under go some challenges. But I would surely that everybody that belongs to this forum and has a bitcoin on their own will be glad to this resolution of bitcoin soon.
I think there will be many obstacles when many users want to implement bitcoin as their daily currency, first bitcoin needs a regulation and legalization so all merchants can accept bitcoin without any prohibition from anyone but the difficult thing is to make bitcoin legal because the government is still adamant to ban bitcoin and cryptocurrency

Although regulation and legalization can be done, the government still need to find ways to make bitcoin price stable enough to be used to buy daily necessities, no one wanted to use such unstable currency since it possess high risk to regular business, high volatility in bitcoin price is also another reason government and economist try to urge investor to stay away since high volatility possess more risk that doesn't cope with logic investment

Bitcoin transactions are way slower than other cryptos and fees are high, and when you pay with bitcoin you pay with only fractions of it, so do you think it is possible for bitcoin to become a daily currency? Something you can use to pay for coffee? If no, then what cryptocurrency have this potential?

Of course, I can. but depending on someone it wants to transact with bicoin. I think very few will do it, given the value of bitcoin always grows every time.
in the future there will be many innovations involving bitcoin. but I'm not very optimistic there are many users who do it. unless the bitcoin value tends to be stable.

I don't think so, there are lots of  coin on the market, more less gas fee than bitcoin, why we have to use Bitcoin as a daily currecy. but I think some other coin will become a daily currency in someday, Let's witness history. Tongue

In my opinion, bitcoin will not be the daily currency. Many countries have not approved or passed bitcoin as currency. Bitcoin takes hours to confirm, maybe another alternative solution is crypto like ETH.

Coins with such high volatility can never be used for daily transaction. It will be very difficult, because the world is going to run over the fiats, so its tough to maintain the exchange rate with so volatility.
I think country specific coins will be implemente in long future, so then its still possible.

Also  Bitcoin with high confirmation time, its tough to implement it everywhere. But there are new coins and even ICO whoch is targeting daily use.

I do not think Bitcoin can be a daily currency. Because for me Bitcoin is only suitable as an investment asset not as the currency we use in everyday life.

Bitcoin can become our daily currency if governments will allow it since they are those people who are deciding if bitcoins will be legalized on our country or not but that is possible in the future if technology will grow further more.

When the futere is nearly come, I think crypto currency is much popular than real money that we have today. On future we can't buy anything such as small piece of candy without virtual currency. And I think before that the time comes we just need give an importance for the money that we hold in everyday even if its a small amount.  Smiley

What are people buying with bitcoins? It turns out the list is pretty boring: bedroom sheets, headphones, area rugs, mattresses, coffee tables, sunglasses, and donations to non-profits all help round out the top ten items bought on Overstock.com. With the cryptocurrency becoming more ubiquitous as shown by reaching the 100k daily transaction mark (not including popular addresses) this year, it is being used more and more for regular ecommerce purchases.

I also think so. Technical problems such as huge fees and slow confirmations may be solved by LN. Major problem is governments which do not allow bitcoin replace national currencies, making different obstacles for it

It's likely right now for Bitcoin to become a daily currency because of high fees and long confirmation time. Also because many people consider Bitcoin more an asset and speculative tool rather than a currency.

That's right. I think that its becoming more problematic that transactions involving cryptocurrencies are beginning to be imposed of high fees and longer confirmation times. More than a currency, it is turning more so as an investment medium comparable to a 'stock' in the stock market. So, to consider it as a daily currency would not be feasible now because of the "red tape" tied up with its transactions, unlike credit cards that are fast and easy with just one swipe, so for cryptocurrency to be in that stage, it should find a way to make transactions faster and convenient.

For my opinion no for now because bitcoin is very volatile and the transaction transfer fee is too high.

Yeah, I agree. At present BTC is not suitable for everyday payments. For ex., you are going to buy a burger in KFC for 1-2$ and you need to pay the same for transaction fee at least

For me its not because of the higher fee and too slow for the confirmations and we know the price of bitcoin is not stable compare to our local currencies but we never know what will happen maybe someday it may become suitable for that thing.

Currently, bitcoin is far from becoming an everyday currency. There are lots of things to consider if you want bitcoin to be used in day to day transactions. First thing is volatility. You cant use a coin that has a value of $100 today and tomorrow it becomes $90 only or worse $50. That's not good for the business owners. Secondly, bitcoin fees are just huge. You buy $10 worth of food and your fees for the transaction is more than $10. So instead of putting out $10 you put out $25 for a $10 worth of food. That's not at all practical.

Some retail shops and restaurants might not be willing to accept bitcoin due to one reason, the huge price volatility in bitcoin might cause some retail shops or restaurant to get into debts as the boss would have to pay the staff salary, rental and utilities expenses monthly at a fixed rate, and collecting bitcoin as payment from their customers would risk them having to deal with bitcoin price fluctuation.

Yes you are right, the price of transaction fees today is very high to become our daily currency but i thing that they can fix in the future and we will be able to use bitcoins just like fiat today.

I think bitcoin will not become currency. Because bitcoin is a digital currency. bitcoin is a bogus virtual currency. The bitcoin value always changes rapidly.
