I'm gonna be That Guy, and say I hope not.

IMHO we need patient development: p2p, some merchants, some friends and colleagues getting help to set up wallets. A coin that gets 1000% spike out of the blue is just gonna suffer a 1000% drop a little later. (Me still surfing African nations for contacts.)

Very good buy volumes in our coin.

Yes, V.M. -- a tiny bit also on Nova, and even a smidge of XJO-LTC and XJO-DOGE

Hi everyone,

IMZ invited me from Reddit (r/Zimbabwe) to use XJO.  I have the MacOSX wallet set up.  He said to post the address:
JfV3Y6FRFt3P4hodJxsdMiA47LzFbdFs32

I'm fairly new to crypto, but have been wanting to learn.  Not sure if my setup is high powered enough for mining (just a Mac and a Linux laptop), but that would be fun to start trying as well.  Any places you all recommend to learn more about getting started?

Morning, Harlanjs! Deep breath.

There are 10,000 XJO in your wallet. That's $U.S.80. They are a gift to the project.

Leave mining for a while.

This thread shall be home base. I understand that our goal is to develop a network of Zimbabwean crypto users.

Next step, get an account at: cryptopia.co.nz (Bookmark the site: it's a security thing) THEN . . . figure out your XJO deposit address, and post it here. I'll loan you some XJO with which to experiment with trading. You will be trading within hours:

so, helping others to set up and secure the wallets of The Zimbabwe Project; figuring out how to get XJO to those folks; getting them Cryptopia accounts; showing them how to trade; getting them accounts here, so we can gather and learn.

Dev, where is your team?

Congratulations, ante . . . you're now part of The Team!

Seriously though: although this coin's dev only passes through every so often, he has been doing so since the coin was launched in September, 2013, and the suite of wallets is up to date. Otherwise, there is a small but tenacious group of XJO fans. This crypto is alive and well.

Old coins! They get rarer and more scarce every day.

XJO is a solid buy. Super low market cap, very old coin. Original dev still does updates.

Hi All! I’m creating a master list of the oldest cryptos still in circulation and being traded. Criteria for addition to the list is being listed somewhere on coinmarketcap. Low volume coins are OK, but coin must have a market cap to count. Also name changes and planned swaps are also OK (things like protoshares).

This list will be featured on a website I will promote. The purpose is to assert the value of older coins. So help is greatly appreciated and can benefit XJO!

I did this myself pretty quickly and I’m sure its full of errors still.

2014 and forward I’m going to leave the list incomplete, but people are welcome to submit their coins and I will add them.

2013 and before I want a hard list fully completed and will update if coins go defunct.

Thanks for having a look!

Also healthy hashrate, 60 TH/s today, two times more than Litecoin, that's quite a secure network  Grin

That's an interesting list, some of them have low supply and are quite cheap, there seems to be some phenomenon where some old cryptos are exploding (ex. vertcoin), my opinion is that it never hurts to get a small stash, 10-20$ can get you hundreds/thousands of units, and you never know what can happen, one day you could see x50 x100 profits, i think the risk is definetly worth it Wink

Ah but running different algorithms tho so that isn't a fair statement (using different types of mining equipment). Hard to compare how many people are actually mining each coin. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Joule fan, but it would be impossible for a little known coin to have a more distributed mining network than something like LTC.

Exactly my thinking too! I think a maintained list will help that out. Also hoping for trickle down from newly made millionaires within old but valuable coins like LTC, DOGE, VTC. . . Sell a tiny fraction of your VTC and become a huge player in XJO. No one is going back in time to create more 2013 coins.

Morning, Remi. Heck, no: CMC is a woefully incomplete list. The very best list ever I lost. This one is now way incomplete -- but it's from the era you want: http://com-http.us  This one is pretty damn good: http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/coins/info/1001

But this is the classic one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=588413.0

Awesome thanks.

You really think cmc is unreliable for 2013 and earlier? I know they are selective, but i figured with that age they'd have made the list by now. Also, at the end the day of I have to set a limitation somewhere, cmc is an easy mark. Suppose a coin was launched 2013, was a total scam delisted everywhere, dude who mined it alone for 2 years re-launches a "market" on a scam exchange. I worry that if I don't set my bar around an existing professional assessment of legitimacy i'm the one calling shots on what does and doesn't count (not where i want to be with this).

I love that necronomicon list too, but always wished there was a similar list of still active coins. Can't really used the dead list to help me. . . .Its so weird you can't quickly look up sites that have a simple list of launch dates and which is oldest.
