Apology accepted. You can always find me at Unobtanium. My computer skills are pathetic, but I have done my homework on the anthropological aspects ( and my prose will probably stand scrutiny. I'm a retired technical-writing tutor . . . ).
One of the things that encouraged was the presence of Unovians here. It is a dynamic and open-minded coin community.

I think there's place for everyone's energy, let's keep it positive I suggest people start their own projects in the areas that interest them; action speaks louder than words! You're right, see, it gives a fresh look when a clear minded person shares his thoughts. I like it. Action speaks louder than words!Indeed.. I have capital and now an S1 backing Joulecoin.. I will never dump my holdings to negatively effect the coin.

Uno has a great community, very friendly and helpful people over there. Regarding social media, what is according to you the best approach to grab people their attention ? I think there's place for everyone's energy, let's keep it positive I suggest people start their own projects in the areas that interest them; action speaks louder than words! You're right, see, it gives a fresh look when a clear minded person shares his thoughts. I like it. Action speaks louder than words!Indeed.. I have capital and now an S1 backing Joulecoin.. I will never dump my holdings to negatively effect the coin. That's the spirit! How much XJO are you pulling each day ? At the moment I'm working on the lay-out for the wallet, hope to finish the graphical work in less than 48 hours. Wallet will be in line with the green XJO style

I'm not too sure how much Joule the S1 is getting me. I am using e-pool, I like it because it says "mined coins" in my wallet, hehehe.
Looks like a sell wall has been put up... hum... I could use more joule because why not.

R., give me a week to get my blasted laptop back on line. Then I'll answer your questions.
In short: media connects community to prospective community members. First figure out who you are, where you're going, and what program will get you there.

Still stuck on the blasted smartphone keypad. Gonna try an experiment this second, a thing related to in-house exchanges.
Bottom line: unless you guys are eager to UTTERLY change your approach, I should not stick my nose in.

At the moment there is no approach at all. There are some interesting directions that we can go with XJO but we're also interested in what you have to say. Tell me what direction you have in mind.

1. Merchant-network development -- 'mentoring': setting up wallets; gifting a pinch of coin; BUYING STUFF WITH JOULE, then buying the Joule back with fiat!
2. 'national chapters': ANYTHING that can be mailed within a nation can be paid for in Joules. (Everyone always puts their nation of origin in their signature).
3. 'Consultancy culture': become an intellectal crossroads. Write articles for GFC analysts. Set up shop at reddit mynation. Answer questions. Write exquisitely clear Facts Sheets for beginners.
(Google mark blair market oracle the 500 cryptos that aren't bitcoin).
4. Personally introduce yourself to every computer geek in the district.
5. Set up a trestle table at a market. Explain both btc and xjo -- one has utility. One is family, where you go to learn.
6. In-house exchange for physical bullion -- let's come back to this one.
7. Become The Asian Connection (for a RANGE of coins)
In conclusion: coin-communities fundamentally misapprehend the nature of commerce. The crypto sphere -- the 1% -- is glutted. TIME TO GO TO THE 99!!!!
Mark, Australia Now, I will pop in and answer questions;; but I shall base myself firmly at unobtanium.

That's pretty ambitious, we need more man-power to cover all things listed above. We need more than one dev as well, it's not easy to find devs as they charge a lot buck for their work. Perhaps that John can share his thoughts about it as well, he is a dev. Regarding point 7 "Asian connection" define that please ?

Morning, Referee. Look for bilingual people to interest in coining: English-Mandarin, English-Cantonese, English-Indonesian.
One of our disappointments -- Internet problems and funds -- was with Indonesia; but Indonesia is a fine example of what I am suggesting:
The Indonesian Government and banking-system are both profoundly corrupt. Indonesians hate them both. I know people in Indonesia (I lived there for years). I began approaching Indonesians to set up a wallet. I was gonna GIVE them coin. There was almost NO crypto presence in the country at that time. Long story short: we could have put a crypto into TRANSACTIONAL use among the many expat workers and among Indonesians themselves.
We intended running what we call a 'P-WIP exchange': people who have established trust buy crypto by transferring fiat by Internet-banking.
Perth has a large population of Indonesian expats, and we were trying this technique a full year ago. We hoped to set up a system whereby the Indonesians in Australia bought coin from us, and then 'pumped' it into Indonesia.
Now, we have had one success with the Asian-Connection Project. IndiaMikeZulu ran the world's only English-language exchange for the South Korean DOKDO coin. I made contact because -- although these guys are clearly KICK ARSE clever devs -- they were struggling with language issues. I now have great relations with them. The first ever international commercial transaction made with the currency was me mailing a second-hand CD to the dev. Next week will see the publication of my first article in a South Korean Bitcoin e-magazine (translated by a local guy).
In countries that have remittance industries, get interested locals to contact locals and expats who could profitably use cryptos -- import-exporters, people with family members living as expats in the other nation, airline exmployees, teachers, etc. etc.
Ambitious? Yeh!! But there has never been in history a case in which you launch a little business, and then the world rushes over and presses its cash into your hands.
And An Encouragement:
if you launch even a micro-program of a truly ambitious nature, that is, you break away from the prevailing dynamic whereby everyone sits in front of the screen, pushing the same old buttons, and pulling the same old levers, then you can stabilise the price of the Joule. Once the price is stabiised -- particularly against a background of other coins slipping in price -- the the CAP of the coin stops being a problem for the interim. You can approach people with your head held high; and, as I suggested in the first place, you can use the Joule community as a nexus for activity that extends far beyond just pushing the XJO barrow.

Thank you for your time, very interesting read You have a lot experience in writing I see, respect. To accomplish things you listed we need to have a large group of people that dedicates a lot time in XJO. Given the fact that we're short on man-power will make it a lot harder to work on large projects. Most people have a full time job, and others are just here to mine and sell, and often drop a message.

Hey, R.
I will get out of your hair at this point. V500 and Bitcoin Charlie know where to find me.
Bottom Line: stop the price erosion. If you set your mum and brother up with a wallet, and then undertake fiddly little 'in-house' commercial transactions -- I paid for beer, olives, and a computer part yesterday with Unobtanium -- it may be, indeed, that you are a 'micro currency'*, but you are a currency!!
Final Thoughts:
one: 'partition off' the dev: that is, ask no more of him (interimly) than that he post once a month, so that newcomers know he is still on board. The fact that he is proves that XJO is a living project. Go, Joule!!
two: look after Spazzdla every way you can. His loyalty is indispensable.
three: research physical bullion sales. If two Joule coiners live in the same nation, and you can buy and securely mail even those one-ounce bars of silver, do it!! Crypto-for-bullion is the future.
Four: we are goin' through The Great Shakin' Down. In years to come, crypto historians will be writing about What Happened in Late 2014. If you can hold It All together until Bitcoin reaches a month-on-month average price above, say, $800 or $900, things will start going easier.
Mark
* Remember what I wrote about a 'training-coin'?!
