For me it's very simple. I used paypal for years, several times. 5 years ago I heard about Bitcoin and never used paypal again. Not even once.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

That's nice, you are one of a true believers of bitcoin because of the attitude of using and involved in bitcoin for long. Those who truly believes in bitcoin it understand the risks and how it really works to the users. Despite of the fuds it has, we still beleives in bitcoin ability to grow in the future. |

I think it would be fun to have some kind of an idea about why people are in on the 'crypto-wave'. Let me be clear, that there is no right or wrong answers and both are good and none are 'better'..
Is it entirely because of the money that can be gained from the potential price increases, or is it because you believe in the tech? Maybe you do not believe in the BTC but other cryptos, that counts as well for 'believing in the tech'.
If you do not know whether you believe in it or not, you have not read enough about it, and then you are in because of potential gains.
I personally do not care at all about the reason, and there is not one of the two which are morally 'best'. It is completely okay to invest from the only belief and hope, that the money invested will become more worth. I just think it is fun to see
i believe in bitcoin because bitcoin is a coin that can trust for anyone who want to enter in bitcoin door and its open to all who can trust it! |

To be honest, there is nothing wrong in expecting any speculative earning from Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies but I believe that we should focus on the core area of Bitcoin which states that it is a payment system and true believers do the same. Yes, I have my paper wallet and I hold some part of my Bitcoins in it with the intention of earning from speculation activities but I also spend my remaining Bitcoins online (since we don't have bitcoin friendly market environment in my city).

Everyone knows that the price of bitcoin is increasing significantly and I think it is the number 1 thing that attracts people the most and many believers are aiming to become millionaire because of bitcoin, But it will surely need a dedication in gaining knowledge about this cryptocurrency in all the ways you can profit about it.
I was cool to see a highly ranked member of this forum to hit the nail at the number one thing or reason investors go for bitcoin. Nice to know that. Certainly, the number one thing is the price appreciation. The price increases proportional and you can get your profit within a short time and exit if you don't want to shoot for long. So, the appreciation is the key thing , then the believe in the coin might follow because nobody would want to invest where he/she does not have the intention to make profit in return and bitcoin can get this done in a few moment. |

I believe in Bitcoin for it's technology and vision, that has always been that way. I initially started with Bitcoin when I needed an alternative for digital payment systems like PayPal, this one sounded so revolutionary and it really is. The focus back then was not really on price increase, it was later when prices started to fluctuate a lot that I knew, Bitcoin would become some sort of an asset. Although I think that is not really the purpose, you're free to use it the way you want.

I think the people invest for different reasons, some of them simply due to word of mouth, but others have a deep understanding of the technology, and know just how far it could go. Particularly the case for ETH, NEO and other next generation blockchains, there is potential to revolutionize the world. For certain, blockchain technology and smart contracts are the future, whether or not cryptocurrency survives is irrelevant as these enough are a blessing.

Believing in Bitcoin is good but not with blind eyes. Buying and selling in good positions is better than holding all year long.
All the investors are expecting the profit so all are buying and selling but many investors are think different in cryptocurrency. Short term profit is expecting but sudden loss in the trading this is actual strategy of current situation. So better hold the Bitcoin is good decision in crypto platform after one to two years it will reach 3x to 4x profit in Bitcoin. This is the right way earn profit in Bitcoin. |

That is so nice if bitcoin has changed your life and provided you with an alternate of clearing all payments. Paypal is nice but the transaction fees are not affordable for everyone. But this is not the case with bitcoin, bitcoin is not only a currency but also an evergreen investment. |

It's a bit of all to me. I enjoy the potencial profit it brings, since if bitcoin succeeds as a currency then it's value must increase a lot. I do believe in the tech itself, because bitcoin has an amazing potencial to become a top coin/currency to be used as store of value because of it's decentralized and scarce nature, and it's incredibly secure and "easy" to use (comparing it gold on being easy to use, because I do think that it's interface needs to improve a lot, before everyone can use it as a payment method).
It has a strong and solid tech base behind it, and it could bring amazing profit as an investment compared to the risk it holds.

There is nothing wrong that we really believe in bitcoin because of some reasons. Its volatile price and its characteristics that really amaze and attracts investors. True bitcoin believers will always support bitcoin all the way despite the rise and fall of bitcoin price and always stay solid and stand up for bitcoin. Because I truely believe the great purpose that bitcoin brings in everyones lives. Of course by doing our part through working harder to make our aims possible in the future.

In my first life timeline with Bitcoin was really about the profit from my investment in a ratio of 1:100 and I was earning a lot that time, because why not? It is beneficial, but it is not the true purpose and significance of the Bitcoin itself. I disregarded its true purpose from its potential to become an instrument to pay in transactions. Through its slow but large development, I was starting to get curious of the new implementation to the network of the Bitcoin especially the LN that primarily aims to speed up transactions in the blockchain while still carrying even more benefits from it aside from that. I am not yet a true believer of BTC and I'm not gonna lie to that. Risks are still there leading me to thinking twice in my decision in investing even in larger quantities soon, however I am envisioning its rise in the crypto market not just in price but also to its function and gain even more exposure to media aside from the regulations we're hearing/reading. Many people thinks that bitcoin is a money making machine that if you invest in it, you will get your money in doubles, triples and multiple times fold without knowing the true reason of bitcoin and why is it created. In my point of view this technology is created to simplify our lives, to make the monetary system and payment system digital and hassle free. But a lot of people only thinks about profit and more profit that they will get when they invest in bitcoin. |

I am a true believer of bitcoin.whenever I involved myself on bitcoin,I keep on believing on it.But make sure you should not believe with blind eyes.Do a strong research before doing any decision.In addition, do follow the instruction of others to predict any price.

For me the true bitcoin believers are those who enter and accept bitcoin inspite of advantages and disadvantages of it. Bitcoin believers are those who still stay in bitcoin inspite of fluctuations,they did not fear to lose because they believe in bitcoin. In every ups and down of bitcoin they are still bitcoiners and never leave in bitcoin community.
thats the essence of being BITCOINER that what ever happens will stay intact in holding the coin.and will make withdrawals when the time his target amount achieved,because lots of users now always shouting HODL HODL but when they saw a 20-30% drops.panicked and sell instantly and doesnt care of what will be the effect in market |

I've been in cryptocurrencies just 5 months ago and i am just very new but i already know about bitcoin's volatility and i believe in its capacity to rise everytime it falls. But honestly, it's really tough to HODL that's why I've been selling some of my Bitcoin whenever i see a good opportunity and of course, i got to buy some when bitcoin falls down.

I certainly believe that people invest in bitcoin solely because of potential gain. It is considered as business to some people due to its high demand on the market and being the first successful cryptocurrency to ever exist. Maybe right now many digital currency exist but none is capable of surpassing bitcoin in terms of volume and reliability. |

maybe selling and buying in the right situation is a plan that many traders are thinking about. but if the situation is not right to make a sale or buy then in my opinion there is no other choice but to hold it until the time is right even though it must wait long enough. because that factor is what drives traders to believe in bitcoin. |

Why? I don't see Bitcoin as an alternative to paypal. If this is the case it is massively overvalued. Bitcoin is an alternative to country backed currencies. Paypal is a service provider. Paypal could in theory add cryptocurrencies to its services. |
