Don't worry about miners trying to cheat so they can win some lottery.

Yes it is possible however I don't think the pools would get together and try to cheat you guys.

Even if 1 pool tries to cheat, it highly unlikely that they would mine the specific block of the lottery.
I bet miners won't try to cheat, at least for now. This isn't something that worths and I can also bet it won't worth in future.
OP I appreciate the work you put in releasing of it but sorry, I can't tell you that it's wow or will ever be.
There were some websites closed, they were also well promoted (I remember one).
I doubt it can achieve success but trying is better than doing nothing.
It will make you nervous, it will require a work of years and still 50/50.

Thanks Shield for the kind words and candid feedback.

I doubt it can achieve success but trying is better than doing nothing.
It will make you nervous, it will require a work of years and still 50/50.

I guess this really depends on the definition of success in this context. As the platform is 100% return to players, "success" perhaps is not defined in the same way as some of the other (failed) sites that you mention - in that success is not about achieving a degree of profit of financial gain.

As a player-powered, 100% return "closed loop" system, success here would be providing a compelling lottery game experience to it's community of it's players (who are also it's contributors) in a sustainable way. To a degree, this is already the case - the games offer significantly higher payouts (100%) than the alternatives in a provably fair manner, with a gameplay experience directed by the player community and innovative options such as staking.

Of course, in these early days the jackpot offerings are still nowhere near large enough to be life changing, but that is something that comes with time and growth of the community.

I'd encourage anyone even mildly interested to give the 8Bet bitcoin lotto games a try - two games offering different prices and payout offerings (but still both 100%).

The only way I would see the miners and pool attempting to manipulate the result would be if there would be more money involved. However they can always just do a hashed block of a ETH+LTC+BTC block hash which would be near impossible to manipulate no matter what amount of money or connections one has got.

Hence in my opinion I think this is a pretty safe way to bet.

I actually wish the State lottery was performed this way. How do I know if the final numbers aren't manipulated in anyway to produce no winners? No way to be certain for sure since we can't verify it.

Indeed! In fact, there have been examples of manipulation of physical ball draws and also server-based (non-blockchain, not provably fair) RNG draws in the past, Google it.

I think it is really only a matter of time before all lotteries move this way - as crypto and blockchain are more and more widely used, it only makes sense that a provably fair (and irrefutably so) mechanism that is (somewhat) understood by the masses is going to be the de facto standard. We're already seeing blockchain tech adopted in other branches of government and state-run operations, so lotto will surely follow suit in time.

The first ball drawn in today's Revolution Lotto was lucky number 13!

Is 13 lucky for you ? Do you bet 13, or avoid it ?

Fun fact: did you know that the fear of the number 13 is called triskaidekaphobia ?  Roll Eyes

How excactly do I power your crypto curreny lottery?

That question should be "our" instead of "your"  Wink

Players can contribute in a number of ways - to choose how or learn more, go to the Contribute section when logged in to your account.

In short though, players power all functions of the platform (entirely community run) by contributing time/effort (development etc.), funds (through donations), liquidity (staking of jackpots), marketing (referrals) etc. - you can read a bit more background to the model on the Better Gambling blog post

If it is "our", then I can assert legal claims! Wink

Please tell me the applicable jurisdiction and location?

8Bet does not operate from any specific jurisdiction or location - the model is entirely decentralised, with provable fairness achieved through cryptography and blockchain (build on the Bitcoin blockchain).

How can I become admin?

"admin" in what capacity ?
If you want to participate in the platform in some capacity, the links and info are all on the Contribute page, as mentioned before.

I saw there is some free like you said and does it can make you hit the jackpot instead of winning just some of them? Because it is free, there must be some conditions that you need to make just before someone hit that jackpot. And btw you said before there is three coins but why this free game I only saw bch payout instead of other coin?

Hello. I've a problem here: something strange with email verification: when I try to withdraw is says "You must confirm your email before making a withdraw". But I did it already, and I've got that "success" message: "Your Email has been confirmed".

So, is that some sort of a bug?

Hi Thrilla, this has been passed on to the tech team and someone will respond to you at the email address you registered in the system.
We have had several other withdrawals come through, so it doesn't seem to be affecting everyone - so we'll dig into it asap!

Hi Sociohacker!

For players of the pay-games (Peope's One and Revolution Lotto) there's theoretically no minimum withdrawal - the system operates on the principle that you should be free to take back whatever you've put in (hopefully more  Wink). Of course there's a practical minimum below which the withdrawal doesn't make sense (if fees are greater than the withdrawal amount) - if someone requests a withdrawal for an impractically low amount then they would be contacted by the support team.

For accounts playing only the free games, the system would impose a slightly higher minimum of 0.005 BCH (Bitcoin Cash) which is just there to avoid getting swamped with lots of tiny withdrawal requests for accounts that just hit a 2 ball match on the free game.
