This client looks absolutely amazing, and it's a job well done. Shame that it's Mac OS X only, though. Some of the features that this wallet has would be pretty useful to me.

The apps feature and the exchanges feature. A way to buy and sell Bitcoin within a wallet would be amazing, and the apps would make a lot of things easy also.

Ultimately, Windows. I think that if Hive was also made for Windows, you'd probably get a lot more users.

I unzipped and ran it, but the apps window was completely empty ...

You're right, there's something very wrong there - I've noticed the apps actually get installed into Hive, but their icons are invisible and they don't seem to load when you click them. We've only added the preinstalling very recently, we might have broken something there... I've added a ticket for this: https://github.com/grabhive/hive-osx/issues/25.

I fixed some problems with apps today - if your apps list was empty before, please download the latest version from the site, delete the preferences file again and tell me if it works now.

I thought of having apps as part of a wallet system before. It's a good idea. I'll have to give this a look at sometime later.

We made some updates while bitcointalk was down.

• editing personal profiles
• nicer 'blank' views for contacts list and transactions list views
• adding new transactions at the top of the list
• address validation and better error handling in send window
• fixed moving between contact form fields with the Tab key
• fixed some error handling in apps
• updating app icon immediately after installing a new version
• fixed Sparkle updater problems

Hands down the most attractive wallet in existence. I see this going a long way, especially with app integration. This could be the ultimate hub for bitcoin shopping with simple integration of something similar to https://all4btc.com/

Best of luck with the project, I strongly suggest porting it to windows/iPhone as well.

Definitely Hive will be a path opener. The Applications inside are a great concept and looking forward to see BitsPoker on a screenshot of the App menu!

As per our post here, we would absolutely love to add Litecoin support to Hive. However, I think you're asking for the very thing we need (a lightweight/SPV backend), which we unfortunately won't have the time to build ourselves. I recommend that you contact the Litecoin team and push for the furthered development of "litecoinj" (based on bitcoinj).

Added a link to the CoinMap service in the Hive menu. This will be released to production on Monday and closes this issue.

News from the front: you can now add/edit avatars for contacts and for your own profile. There are two ways: either drag & drop an image from somewhere (e.g. from Finder) into the avatar box, or just click on the box and select an image in the dialog that appears.
