Dear bitcoin community,
I recently started researching in altcoin and I tried to figure out which other altcoin is more used in sending money online (I think a traded currency shows that the currency will resist in the future and will grow) and I came to the conclusion that Monero is that coin.
Why Monero? I think it's pretty simple, Monero because I saw that everyone from the dark web asks for payments in Monero, and this leads me to think that Monero would be a good investment now because from what I understand, even Bitcoin has first massively traded on the dark web, and Monero came as a more anonymous alternative to the dark web and so it replaced the bitcoin there.
So, as the title of this thread says: Is Monero a Good Investment?
I have presented my theory, but what do you think?
Please expose your opinion to help me in making the final decision whether to invest my money in Monero or not.
I deeply appreciate your contribution on this thread.

I think so, yes. Most of the darknet markets are moving towards Monero, which gives it value. Also the privacy feature is value in itself. When govnerments come cracking down on Bitcoin, alot of money will move into Monero. When this will happen we dont know, but Monero is a good investment if you HODL. In my opinion.

Based on the coinmarketcap ranking, Monero coin is in the 10th rank which I believe a potential and promising coin for you to make an investment. Also, if you will look into its history of the market price chart, it has an upward trend movement which means it is doing a great performance in the previous days. Though, it's having a price dip at (-2.75%) decrease in the current market, this will increase back to its normal pace once bitcoin will be on the green mark.

Yes, Monero is anonymous and a cheap transaction fee coin. But more importantly, most mining softwares, add-ons, extensions, website etc. mine Monero and then convert it to Bitcoins and other crypto currencies. So in that way, it will always be in circulation and use. As far as how good investment it is, I think it might give you average returns, but don't expect any magic from it. Zcash, Dash etc. might give you better returns in the same category.

Monero is a good investment to hold for long term because it has a potential in the future. The community of Monero is healthy and the volume of it in the market is also good thus in the future you can make a profit out of it. So yes to monero.

I think monero is one of the best coins to invest . It is often used by people who whant to stay anonymous in a crypto world and it's popularity will continue growing . I believe xmr is one of the top cryptocurrencies of the future

Governments and secrecy agencies are already developing tools and they have some developed tools to track records on the blockchain, take into account when you link your identity with some exchange and later on they start to follow where does the money move. It is fairly easy to track down anybody who is in this transparent system. Monero is not the only privacy coin and from my opinion not the best one out there. But I can't deny the fact that it has good credibility and that it has built a brand behind itself with relatively easy to implement in some platforms. As you state dark net markets use it, but I do think that it's price is mostly made because of speculators and investors which is the case with most other cryptocurrencies out there. |

So, as the title of this thread says: Is Monero a Good Investment?
Monero team, especially Fluffypony, tries to discourage the speculation on Monero. Monero team is imho honest enough and hardworking enough to make the coin as good as possible. There are voices (anonymint) telling that Monero has a flaw deep inside, but I was not smart enough to understand his explanation and my logic tells that if there would be a flaw, it would be already exploited, which doesn't happen. Monero is the best example of anonymous and fungible coin, which should be a great deal. However, this could be its demise, since these make it the best coin for illegal things and may upset "somebody"... For me it already is a good investment. I think that it deserves to get easily to 0.1 BTC or more, but that's me. |

monero is one of the best anonymous altcoins that I know of. the purpose of monero is to provide private transactions that will protect privacy. this is great when it is used to give pocket money to our children, privacy is maintained. another example when we do business, then all the company's transactions are always protected and can not be monitored by anyone, especially by our competitors. but here's what annoyed me, anonymous coins are often misused for criminal acts. frankly not only is the anonymous coin seen as bad, but other crypto is also assumed bad by everyone. how the public can trust the crypto, if they are used as a tool for criminals and of course the government does not support this. I believe that Monero is a really good investment, I got my moneros for $ 6

I like both of it too but its so complex issue.We know that transactions by Zcash and Monero are really hard to datect,but not impossible(its not absolute anonymous,its pseudo anonymous),because for this you need hard work,great computer powers and a lot of time,therefore it will be very hard for special authorities to investigate transactions by monero if its place in the list of useful coins will be in second or even third place,So it may cause very strict regulations from concrete Goverment,I don't say that this coin is bad for investment I just say the fact which may be realistic. |

It's nice to see that even with all the hyped anonymous/privacy coins coming out, Monero can still make a good, strong case for a newcomer. I'm a very small Monero holder myself, not sure if that qualifies as being an investor, but I'm invested in what's happening with it. I see it as a sort of similar situation to Bitcoin. Not the first crypto but the first mover in its own market as a privacy coin. Great community, solid developers, and plodding on despite all the others overcoming it in terms of price. I'd say you made a good choice!
