Just finished preparing an order of 8 cubes I ordered to test before running and went through the procedures I mentioned earlier in the thread.

EVERY cube had an issue, some small (heatsink screw loose), some larger (boards out of grooves, unseated, and missing screws from heatsink). With careful preparation/inspection, I got all 8 running with zero issues on normal or OC mode and hashing with no issues.

I just wanted to reiterate the importance of checking out your cube before starting it up; one could easily ruin one by not checking to make sure it has been assembled properly.

On a side note, I am running 4 cubes on OC that will operate on a EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2 PSU with no problem.

My paperclips just don't look good.

An insulated thermostat wire (18 AWG) works quite well (and looks good).  Just make a very small "U" out of it (approximately 3/4" long) and then strip both ends about 1/4".  It can be secured further with a tape over it:

So far, I haven't toasted any ATX PSUs yet.  Any black pinout (ground) can be used with the Power On pinout (green).

That is not any better than paperclips.  I was saying that in comparison to my paperclips a power on plug or adapter looks really nice.

12/24/13 All new orders/preorders are on hold. I am not taking any more orders for cubes and/or other products right now as I wait for more inventory to arrive. Cube preorders already placed I hope to ship the 27th and 28th if AsicMiner gets them to me in time. If not, a refund will be offered. Any other orders placed in the last few days I am working to ship in the next two days. I am working on catching up on pms and emails. Thank you. SSB

Anyone heard from SSB lately? I sent him a large sum of coins last week for cubes and haven't heard back.

I also have not heard from SSB since the four PMs I sent since Dec 21-23.

I went to the expense of having my latest cube sent via Express Mail and
it arrived promptly and safely, however it is DOA.

Tried a few things but it's not hashing.  Had two loose screws inside that were tightened
up, which seems to be typical for these things. The other two cubes in my rig are
A-OK.

To clarify, the start signal is on the 4th pin, and it can be grounded to the 3rd or 5th pin, which
are both ground (among many others)

One of the three cubes that I just received has burnt 2 fuses.  As soon as I turn on the psu, I hear a crackling sound and it shuts down.   The fuse totally burns out.  I did all the recommend cube prep on all of these and the other 2 are working fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can do to resolve this? Thanks.

Not sure if this help, but I had troubles with my cube. I took out all the blades and started running them one by one. Doing this I realized I had 1 faulty blades at was giving me all the strange problems. Can't believe one faulty blade gave me so many problems, and having that n the cube gave problems while starting.

okay  pull the fuse and pull all the blades  but 1 in the first slot.  keep the fuse out and turn the psu up.   the fan should turn on as the fan works with no fuses.  if the fan works put the fuse in.  1 blade in 1 slot.  if it works you know the first slot is good and the blade is good.  power down move the  1 good blade to the second slot.   hopefully  the blade will work in every slot.  this will mean 1 good blade and all slots good.

add the second blade.  add the third blade if it works  .  add the fourth blade.

you could have a bad board.
or 1 or more bad blades.

Hey guys,

I have one of these cubes and I'm not sure how to actually get it to run with the clock set to high. It runs fine in low, but the second I set it to high I get all xxxx across all boards and all chips. I asked SSB who suggested I post in this thread for any tips. I have done the reseat/reboot/tighten down heat syncs etc. can anyone make some helpful suggestions who has seen this problem?
