This coin was made for the long game - 5 to 10 years. Current prices are nothing but mood swings. In 5 years btcz should be worth 400 to 600 sats, in 10 years 2,000 to 5,000 sats...according to my booze crystal. BTW, in 10 years the USD will have lost much of its value so 2,000 sats would be like 2USD. So yeah, if you have a million btcz today in 10 years that will be worth at least 200,000 in today's USD. Sorry I talk too much.

why did the price drop so much?
It didn't drop much, about 10%, which is understandable because Bitmain announced ASIC for Equihash. BitcoinZ team has announced they are making a new alhorithm to make the coin ASIC resistant.

No, it is not going down. This prediction does not make any sence. BitcoinZ will survive and will be very precious in long term. It will have a new algorithm soon, will become ASIC resistant, it will be still minable profitable also with low capacity GPUs, new features like TxtZ are coming out soon, there will be more exchange listings in this year. There is no reason for downfall. -------------------------- BitcoinZ: The intrinsic value of this coin is significantly higher than the market price. It's time to buy!

Thank you Varvarin once again for your advise to use Bminer's bminer software. I have a rig with 8 x 1070 Ti, running Ubuntu 17.10.1 64bit PL=112 OC=200/1200 Speed > 4100 Sol/s Efficiency > 4.5 Sol/Ws

I am against this vote! Why? Because there are some inconsistencies... They are talking of Votecoin and use the abbreviation VTC, but VTC is Vertcoin and VOT is Votecoin! Price of VoteCoin is around 0.02 $ and price of Vertcoin is around 2.58 $ at the moment, a tiny difference... Circulating supply of VTC is ~44 millions and of VOT is ~28 millions coins. For that both of the coins - doesn't matter, wich one of both is meant - there would be rocket launching for the price of the coin (VOT ~7% of all coins needed, VTC ~5% off all coins needed) And why is needed to buy Votecoin/Vertcoin on DKKT market??? If they meant Votecoin, I have some in my portfolio, why to buy them, if I have them? If that is not clarified, I am out for the vote!

Our BitcoinZ is getting a lot of mention By Name in the conversations about new algorithms to evade ASICs making the name "BitcoinZ" priceless and it should obviate any need or even desire to change the name. I have often felt that keeping the name as it is long term is best and am sorry I ever contemplated or expressed support for changing it.

Why is everyone interested in getting BTCz on exchanges? That has never helped any coin's adoption. BTCP lost 40% in 5 days after being listed on HitBTC. Come on guys, wake up and stop spending 10BTC on crap like Coinbene and spend that on the devs who are working so hard on this project.
We don't need more exchanges. Exchanges make money off of fees so its their loss if they dont list us.

We're moving the ANN for BitcoinZ to this one - the old one will be archived by bitcoinz-pod. The ANN is being transferred to community jurisdiction.
Hello Community and Devs! ASICs are ALREADY mining BTCz!BTCz has come under mine-n-dump attack since mid March. I believe this is because Bitmain finished their Z9 manufacturing and released units onto their cleanrooms to start mining all kinds of Equihash coins just to mine-n-dump. Bitmain thinks the Z9 profitability will hit practically zero (breakeven) around June or July and thats when they will shop the units to make the last $2000 off of the units. We need your ZHASH fork implemented sooner to kill the ASICs who are killing BTCz by dumping everything they mine. If a fork is implemented you will notice how the difficulty will drop significantly (like it did with Monero) and ASICs will be booted out! BOOT OUT THOSE ASICS!

Bitmain already has stopped making the ASICs. They have been mining with them for weeks if not months. They announced the sale the day they stopped fabrication. They probably have thousands of them already mining all Equihash coins and dumping them in the market. Once they are no longer profitable they ship them out. Now you know why ASICs are always PRESOLD and always LATE.The only way to say F/U to Bitmain is to FORK now, not in June. When you fork in June you are only hurting the miners who paid $2K for the Z9. If you fork NOW you hurt Bitmain which is GOOD. Remember no ASIC manufacturer will ever ship anything out until they become almost obsolete and unprofitable. The notion that Bitmain fabricates and ships them out is grossly false.
