Why people always do this because of the high chance of getting a profit and its an easy way for trading if you want a profit even your not knowledgable on trading. As long you know the dump time you can take a profit because youll always wait it for the increasing of the price. Smiley may I ask, rate your every trade that you get a profit while doing this strategy. 1-10, 10 is always and 1 nothing. Smiley
The high chance of profit by buying back lower is always applicable to only an experienced trader. As an experienced trader, you already know what you are looking for in a trade, but there are some times that things may go awry and you then take advantage of what is happening to cut loss and find a better position, but at least you understand support and resistance and you know how to trade.

People like OP are just weak hands, and they are the ones giving the whales chance to feed on them because they have no understanding of their investment, buy at the top, sell at the bottom and buy again at the top. Seriously, who does that?

I've been one of those people, the people that buy at the high points of crypto and then sell low, losing my money and then later on losing out on a good amount of profits which I could've made. I'd like to know some of the reasons that people do this, besides doing it to cut their losses as that one is my reason.

Thanks guys!

The main reason for your loss is loss of patience. If the price of bitcoin is fluctuate at low value, you should not sell at panic. You have to hold the bitcoin with some patience. If you had loss the patience, you will sell the bitcoin at low price and feel later when the increase.

The only other reason I can't think of apart from panic buying and selling or trying to cut your losses is to "deliberately crash a stock". You can see an example of this from the movie "Wolf of Wall Street" (which is based on real life events), when Jordan Belfort decided to deliberately crash the stock of "Steve Madden" to bring the prices sooo low.

Crypto is definitely unstable, it changes from time to time so no one can tell when it will go high or go low. It is good to sell bitcoin in low point and buy it at high point knowing thay you will gain and earn way more that what you sold. It really takes times and need to take risks when it comes to buying and selling because the value is unpredictable. But buying at high point and selling at low point is one of my strategies to earn coins.

I'm also one of those people who experience this, buy at high prices and sell at low prices, I've read the cause of this happens, and there in explain the trader's psychology was what caused it to happen is due to our fear that our money will be lost, and impatience..

Yeah  we don't  really know what's really  the purpose of those investors who sell at low prices and end up losing your correct maybe they just  play  as decoy so that the price will go down  as much a what we thinking to give opportunity to those  big  capitalist to buy at very low price but we just think that is part of game of stock market. What we can do is to play smart in order to become financially stable.

That's the biggest problem of some investors that are not believing the potential of cryptocurrency specially bitcoin. This usually happens to those who are invested immediately without studying and learning what characteristics have a cryptocurrency. They afraid of losing all of their money, that's why they sell all of their crypto even if they are losing some of their investment.

Some people maybe need fresh money, because of that they not care about the price / low again, they just focused to sell it soon.
But for investors is they buy when price is low and sell in high price, hold for long term. Some people they afraid about the risk, so they decide to sell it fast.

Market volatility is really hard to guess. So many investors follow the trend to ensure the benefits. However, there are many buyers will have who sell. When you buy it is time for others had profit. Perhaps because they dare to invest when you dare not invest.

Its the part of trading which makes it an art, relax you're doing fine and its normal since we are learning to become a trader and sometimes cutting your loses short is one way to do it. I dont think buy at high is a point since there is no one can predict a high and a low, it depends on which timeframe you trading in. People who saying you're doing panic selling definitely only know to holding on their losses since so many of us are newbie in trading. Sure you can hold your investment if it drops, but how much longer can you wait if the price dropped for years and didn't even seems to bounce back.  Grin Grin I think you're a seasoned trader and losing a good amount of profits didn't means that you lose, it just meant you gain less  Grin Grin

because most people lack reasonable thinking.... end of the last year was fruitful for bitcoin (value near 20k) and by default they expect btc to rise x2 or x3 but similar scenario probably won't happen. The first quarter of 2018 is negative trend (chart indicates steady drop in value). In some countries mining is getting non-profitable. So many bought btc when it was 13, 14, 15k because they expected it at 50K......feel pity for them.

Well I would say that most people are not suited to trade, because it's very demanding from an emotional point of view. Also, I think that most retail investors fail on the first principle of investment, that is risk money that you can afford to lose.

Let's face it, from your description, you seem like a guy who bought based on fomo, and the invested more than he could. Since you were not a trader, you probably didn't sold right at the start, otherwise you would be buying the dip, and you would still be in a good profit, because there were plenty of bounces since this decline begun. And I know good traders are still making money despite this correction.

So you bought more than you could lose, you didn't cut your losses at the right time, because you wanted for the market to turn around, and then you sold at the bottom, because you got afraid that you would lose even more.

If this applies to you, my advise is to keep holding your coins if you don't need that money, and don't try to trade them. From a development point of view, crypto is doing fine, so this means that it has a future for the long term. Hold those coins and "forget" about them. If crypto goes well, and BTC achieves it's goals, you will still have made a good investment.

maybe that's not their goal, buy at high prices and sell at low prices. but they are confused not smart to analyze and fear if the loss more so do so. they buy at a high price that they think the price is a pretty low price. after they buy the price down, they think it will be a loss, the end they sell it from at a loss more.
they just of panicked because the price dropped and feared more loss again.

Its because people don't have proper knowledge of market. They tend to buy it solely because everyone else is buying which means the coin is already in a booming stage. Whereas this is the stage where they should not buy as market is already overpriced and then the same thing happens when they are ready to sell. They sell after watching big whales who had already sold and reduced the price. This is the buying point for everyone.

Because they pay attention to news and how the market moves, and not reasonably approaching the process. Many still still invest in bitcoin and believe that it will again reach 20k. Some just need money or fear of losing everything.

I mean, what else would be the reason mate? It's the smarter move to follow through and the better chances you would gain a return. If you would buy so high, it would mean that you would have to hold onto your investment for a longer period of time, more so, you would really have to invest a lot of patience to actually get a profit for your investment. While, if you would buy low, then you have more chances to gain a profit because it is more likely in this market that when an asset goes down, especially at its lowest point, the next movement it would show would be to gain some of its value back, or sometimes, even more.

Because these people don't buy the right time and they always buy at ATH so they have to cut their loss by selling at lower price. But I think if they don't be a panic seller and try to hold until these coin get to new ATH price is better Smiley. It's not easy to be able to control emotion that why a lot of traders still become a panic seller when there is a big dump make the whole market dump.

Since you are faced with this, you better know. I think because with a rapid increase in the price of a coin, you buy it at the highest possible price in the hope that the growth will only increase, and the opposite happens - the price starts to decline rapidly, and you are hoping to save at least something - start selling.

This is happen many times for those that are afraid to have a huge lose in the market. It happens that I already encountered selling at a low price then buying high. It should not like this, patience is needed also for us to earned profit.
