Yes you can actually sell all your altcoins and buy them back but remember, price today is low so there is no assurance that when you buy them back its lowest from the price you previously bought them. That’s why some people just prefer holding them instead of having losses.

Probably the less risky step will be simply to wait and hold the coins. I am not sure that if you sell now alts, you will be able to buy them for the less price.

if you want to do this, make sure that the current market conditions are still in a downward trend, where the market is more likely to down than it rises, if you sell it maybe you can get a cheaper price, but for now it looks like the market looks green, some times the price goes up to $7000, maybe it's going to be a bit risky now, if you want to do that way

Are you sure that when you sell you can recover the loss? I don’t think that this is a good plan for you. I don’t know how much you lost but you should remember that with the market right now, if you sell ,you will definitely lose a lot. I think that you’d better keep patient right now, you should hold it till the price recover. You probably know that crypto market is notoriously volatile. You don’t need to be panic like that, everything will be alright, altcoin value will  definitely recover.

Ideally, you should try and purchase Alts again in order to average out your losses.
Suppose you bought a coin for 10$ and its price has fallen to 1$, so, instead of selling yours for 1$, you should buy more coins for 1$ each in order to bring your net buying price to 5.5$ a coin. This way, once the coin reaches 6$ again, you would be in profit again.
I feel this is the best strategy to recover your losses.

it depends which coin you buy, if that coin has a potential i suggest you for hold it. because sell your coins when you loss that's mean you lose your money, it is my principal.

I think this moment in time the market is dead. Dead in a sense that trading and selling dont give much benefit to traders and sellers. I dont sell my coins i hold everything. I dont want to lose so i patiently wait. But not everyone can wait, some need money so we cant blame them.

You’re not the only one that has lost money in this, there are lots of others. If you have altcoins, there is still no problem, all you still have to do is hold it and wait till the price increases. When you are in need of money these kind of situation would really stress us out when you do see that your folio is on a very big decrease when it comes to percentage but as same as you said we should not dump no matter what as long we are still holding our coins it cant still be considered as loss.Just try to avoid to look into your folio to avoid stress and might able to make decisions if you look to often.

I will never do that anymore,  not right now,  i actually done that before when i started in trading,  because of panic mode,  i sell all my altcoins and regret it after a month because the price started to rise.

as far as I know there are many ways to recover your lost assets because you sell them at cheap price, one of them you can follow bounty campaign in this forum to get more trading capital.

If you sell yout alts now and start to trade again, the market is still the same at a bearish trend. Basically you'll be wasting your money there. I agree that your best option would be to hold out. Most of us have no better option and we can't do anything unless the market recovers.
