What is a good amount to start with when investing into crypto?

I see lots of posts about “I have $100 / $200, what should I buy” and most of the time the answers are with that amount just invest in an ICO etc etc.

I would be interested to know what people here consider a good starting amount to invest...and I know the basics of not investing more than you can afford to loose but for arguements sake, what’s a good number to start with?

I’m not so much interested from a whale perspective of investing like $500k or $1mill, more so the normal everyday average joe male/female investor who wants to dabble in the crypto market. Would it be $1k, $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k etc? People new to the game or interested to start investing in this space may find this useful so they know a rough number which would be a good starting point before turning  that into riches (the obvious dream).

For reference I initially started with about $3k (it’s not loads but it was a start) and over time I’ve added more and more (it gets addicting) into the pot as and when I have the money to spend and when the time seems good to buy.

There is no limit to investing in crypto coins, it all depends on the capital you have. You can invest in small quantities or large quantities, but if you want maximum profits then you have to invest in large quantities.

It depends how much money you have. The current investment has become part of the hobby as well. Setting aside some money for long-term investments is an opportunity for us. I do not know what the total amount I invested. Every time I have more money I will definitely set it aside for investment. Sometimes I buy some bitcoin or ethereum. The investment I do is long term.

When I joined crypto I invested all my spare money which I had at that moment, because I was sure that the market would grow. And as a result it was a right decission. But now, the market is so unpredictable that I would recommend to be very careful with new investments.

When you have something and you have an opprtunity to invest it, just do it. You can do many small investments with lower risk insteed of one big mistake.

Much amount to invest in the bitcoin or altcoin will be get and earn much amount with the profit, but we are the beginner is more better to invest not too much money at there, we have more knowledge about the cryptocurrency first before we invest much money at the bitcoin. by the way the amount $100 is enough for invest our money in the cryptocurency and will get much profit for trade in the short time, but you have ask the other before you invest your money.

Never more than you can afford to lose. That being said, personally i found it helpful to start with a smaller amount to get some skin in the game, so to speak. It really added a new level of motivation to learn everything.
Study, learn about the tech behind the coins you're considering, meet the communities that develop and use the coins you're considering. Learn how to store your coins offline and then do it.
Good luck!

In my own opinion, the good amount to invest in cryptos is the amount one can afford to leave untouched for 6 months at least which would not impact one's lifestyle if lost. Once this amount can be defined, then the good amount to be invested has been arrived at. This of course varies from one individual to the other.

It's not the sum, but the ability to properly dispose of it. At the stage of the appearance of cryptocurrencies, I invested in any of the cryptocurrencies could earn a fortune, since some projects gave more than 20,000% of the profit. Of course, the larger the amount of investment - the sooner it can be multiplied by distributing to different coins. I would have a capital of $ 1 million, I would have invested it all in cryptocurrencies.

Invest whatever you're willing to lose.  Plain and simple.

The "Wild West of the 21st Century" isn't a place for shy investments and being nervous about it.  You pick some projects, do lots of research, throw your money at it and play the game.

A good amount to invest is not a fix figure. It is because that you will invest any amount of money that never hurt you when you lost it.
I invested $300 on Ripple last year, so let's say Ripple isn't pumping until today, that $300 doesn't seem a loss to me because I am earning way higher than that investment amount.
For me, that's the biggest mistake of every investors when their investment doesn't result well then they blame anything or anyone.

Indeed, just like in gamble. Set your money on the pot that is not give you butt pain in return when you lose.
Investing in crypto is one of the most and higher return offerings but we should take higher risks when investing because Crypto is volatile and the dump and pump is whether low or high, nobody can tell.

Well, you can invest in the ICOs if you want.
But I suggest you make sure the ICO which want to invest. You can lose your money if you throw in the bad ICO.

Exactly.  Volatility is key, and it's literally OFF THE CHARTS with altcoins especially.

The right way to invest in crypto is to invest in some of the projects
you take interested in and analyze their projects.
and for me, a good amount to invest is how much you can lose if things go wrong.

Investments are always subject to market risk be it any investment asset even the traditional ones like property, gold or shares. Cryptocurrency market which relatively new and small and runs heavily on speculation is quite risky to put all your life savings in it. Yes, the returns are huge and this is what attracts millennial towards crypto. But invest wisely. Diverse your amount in various inbestment assets for diversifying and reducing the risk. Before investing in anything do risk assessment. Don't follow the crowd because it's your money and you are accountable  for the same.

100$ dollars is a good amount to invest. It was not high but it wasnt low value too. So, using your 100$ is good value for investments. I would suggest you to invest in btc or eth while the price of them are still low.
