It depends on your real life wealth..
But 100-200$ initial investment - you risk to loose a lot of time.. a lot of great pumps..
smth like 2-3000$ is decent initial investment, spread wisely..

What is a good amount to start with when investing into crypto?

I see lots of posts about “I have $100 / $200, what should I buy” and most of the time the answers are with that amount just invest in an ICO etc etc.

I would be interested to know what people here consider a good starting amount to invest...and I know the basics of not investing more than you can afford to loose but for arguements sake, what’s a good number to start with?

I’m not so much interested from a whale perspective of investing like $500k or $1mill, more so the normal everyday average joe male/female investor who wants to dabble in the crypto market. Would it be $1k, $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k etc? People new to the game or interested to start investing in this space may find this useful so they know a rough number which would be a good starting point before turning  that into riches (the obvious dream).

For reference I initially started with about $3k (it’s not loads but it was a start) and over time I’ve added more and more (it gets addicting) into the pot as and when I have the money to spend and when the time seems good to buy.

Mine is from 100-500 dollars for a project because I can't risk what I can't afford.. I do have a life outside crypto yeah.

$200 USD is pretty much better  than 100 USD. You can hardly find a promising ICO for 100 USD compare to 200 USD. Such amount is a good starting for a newly investor.

I think that everyone should determine for himself what amount he is ready to invest in cryptocurrencies. But the amount you invest more - the more your profit will be.

To begin with, a good amount for investing is $ 1,000 which will make you nervous and you will always understand what you need to understand.

i would not join this market with no more than $1000 at all, because it would be more than risky and you are gonna lose a lot of time because of that, if you are patient enough, you can invest less money, but you wont see much profits

It would be better for you to start with an amount that you can afford to loose. Anyways we are all different people with different amount of money we already have and so that would determine your amount you can afford to lose. Also if your instinct tells you a project will fetch you something good, never hesitate to take the risk

is all from choice because you can equally invest any amount you wish to invest, normally to me specifically i can't bear the risk of loosing $1m or more of that. so i can only invest what won't affect me or break me down.

For most parts, there is no such 'good' amount mate. I think the answer that you would mostly get would tell you that the best amount is the amount that you are willing to lose, especially if you are a beginner who doesn't know much how the market works. If you are just beginning to test the market out, then most often than not, you would experience losses, and if that's the case, you should spend a capital that is not too much for you to actually feel that this market is not worth it and back out.

You have the same question like me, I think you should join bounty program and learn how to do a good job and earn money. If you can you should invest ETH, BTC.

A good amount to invest is only what you can afford or in other terms, invest only your excess money not your whole budget. Start from small amount of investing like 20$ until 100$ depends on you. This amount to invest is very good to start like trading, investing on initial coin offering and etc

The money you use is also an active contribution, because they can provide you at any time and I think people who want to try for themselves in this case, can start investing with at least a few tens of dollars.

There is no specific amount to invest because it completely depends on your interest, crypto market is a big volatile market and nobody don't know when the price start increasing and when the price start decreasing.

As always - investing in crypto is VERY volatile, you can lose almost all of your invested money - so be prepared for that and invest only money you can afford to lose completely. I think everybody will give you the same answer.
