very unlikely, bitcoin is too strong .. Look now bitcoin has experienced a tremendous increase but ethereum and ripple still have very low prices. bitcoin will always be number one
Agree. That indeed an increase for altcoin at this time is still not able to rival bitcoin. if we see bitcoin cannot be replaced or replaced by other altcoins. this will make the current ecosystem chaotic due to the change

Yeah Bitcoin will still be the number one in the world of Crypto even though it will be born another Altcoin whose features are more cool than Bitcoin, it is not a problem for Bitcoin to continue to be the king in the world of Crypto.
ethereum and ripple are indeed very good coins to date. long time ago, these two coins were always said to be chasing bitcoin. it's just that, until now, that didn't happen, and even today the two coins are also following the flow of the development of bitcoin. Well, ethereum and ripple need further development for this.
- I do not understand how more development is here because ethereum and ripple always live in the world of bitcoin, more precisely, their values are always linked to bitcoin, both are almost dependent on bitcoin, so even if both can grow, bitcoin is still the god that guards the door to grow, limiting them to go higher. Besides, bitcoin also continuously enhances its dominant percentage, we can see through many situations, bitcoin's dominance has become out of control, thriving and limiting the opponent's power, I don't think altcoin can replace bitcoin

If Binance decides to run smart-contracts on their own blockchain then it could be really a game changer. Every project wants to be listed on Binance, so why they should be developed on Ethereum? There is no such advantage like being listed on Binance.  Wink

Two coins that are in positions two and three after Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple have many communities that support these two coins.  But Bitcoin which is the King of Cryptocurrency will not be replaced by Ethereum or Ripple, both of which will remain under Bitcoin.  Forever !

Bitcoin is very popular all over the world. If you ask a person what cryptocurrency he knows, the answer will be Bitcoin. Ethereum / ripple are good coins, but they are far from the popularity of Bitcoin.

Ethereum has been use widely for ICO purchase which have given this coin a high recognition. And also ripple has been on test for her technology in financial institutions to use since it can process trasactions than bitcoin. Will these two coins replace bitcoin and become number 1 on the coinmarketcap
Perhaps ether and ripple will occupy a very important position in the crypto market, but they can never replace bitcoin. Bitcoin is unique. Bitcoin is an idea, and all altcoins are simply imitators of the main idea. Therefore, no matter how high-quality they are, they cannot replace bitcoin

the strength of the brand of a product will determine the future of the product as well and the popularity of Bitcoin is inherent in the wider community, so I don't see Ethereum & Ripple able to shift the position of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin can't be replaceable by any altcoin. BTC is the most successful and promising cryptocurrency, and it has the highest volume of trading among cryptocurrencies since its creation. Ethereum and Ripple do have good potential, but they can't ever replace Bitcoin.

They have already used to be the 1st on the CMC. Actually these coins are outstanding and are the leading assets in their own sphere.
Please see the price prediction for XRP/USD for 2020-2023 and may be you will find the answer there...

In future Ripple has the potential which can be replace the demand or surpass the price of the Bitcoin. That because Ripple is used world wide in the banking sector legally. But Ethereum can not replace the Bitcoin because like ETH blockchain there are many other coins are already evolved like; Tron, EOS etc where the tokens are created.

In my opinion, for the near future etherem / ripple is not possible to replace bitcoin, because now bitcoin is very dominating, but if in the long run I cannot guarantee, because in the cryptocurrancy world anything can happen, including the sinking of bitcoin,

Indeed. As much as I'm a Bitcoiner first and everything else second, we should never rule out the possibility of anything that is theoretically possible. That would be the mistake a lot of projects made about themselves, and surely the mistake every big company made that they couldn't be replaced.

That said, I think when I die, Bitcoin will still be the Number One.

I think with the current volume of bitcoin bitcoin will not sink or disappear in the future. because so many people who want to have bitcoin and hold it in the long run. the bitcoin wall is very difficult to be penetrated ethereum, even by ripple.

Bitcoin lost a lot of liquidity over the last year, trading pairs were expanded and coins are now traded directly through USDT. perhaps only Ethereum has a good chance of overtaking the great Bitcon itself in terms of liquidity.

Bitcoin, most likely, will not be replaced, although it may well in the near future lose its price dominance and cryptocurrency leader status. However, this will not happen as many assume. After Bitcoin, there will no longer be a clear leader; there will be several. Therefore, there will also be no dominance in the price, not a single cryptocurrency will be able to rise as high in the level of capitalization as bitcoin.
From the point of view of cryptocurrency development, it will probably be even better.

Bitcoin will not be replaced by any existence coin. But Ethereum replaced bu ripple several times, so, in these 10 years, Bitcoin holds the first position but the second position is replaceable! Ripple did well developments in recent time too, but still, Ethereum is a better choice for the second position, Ethereum 2.0 is coming next year to make the Ethereum's place stronger!
