In my opinion, so many ICOs fail because so many of them are scams. Another major part of ICOs have low quality or not very good reputation, so they don't attract investors.

I think that many projects that use ICO to call for capital and fraudulent money in the eyes of ICO people are getting worse. That makes many investors less trust in the ICO also they only short-term investment and led to that ICO failed before reaching the final goal.

Thank you for the detailed information regarding on the reasons why ico fail. I just want to add some reason, some ico when they have a sale and the ethereum or bitcoin price goes low, they still want to continue the sale, that is the reason most of the users bought some ico at a huge discount because they already gained a discounted price and also they get discount of the low price of bitcoin and ethereum.

You have nailed the reasons why are there so many failures. I would mention overhyped expectations. Projects often make promises that are not easily achievable. Just look at crypto credit cards- so many of them were really successful during ICO stage, but now, they are stagnating a lot and new projects can not achieve soft cap as people are rightfully pessimistic. Now it depends on the execution of this idea- whoever makes it first, they will have an enormous headstart. But still, making small steps forward and staying on the ground is a better tactic than giving away tokens and being silent for a month.

Some ICOs fail because their participants are expecting the tokens too soon. Additionaly, there are ICO projects that plan to begin their operation and get profit later which is why they are like mid term investments. So you just need to wait if you are sure that the ICO you picked is not a scam.

The first possible reason is a poor marketing campaign that does not let the project develop due to the lack of funds. Another reason is high expectations of the developing team that is not able to finish up a project because they are not experienced enough.

From my point of view, most part of ICO is lack of innovating ideas (as you said) and just a scam. I really can't understand the reason to participate in ICO due to it's a really high risky investment and chance to increase any money is tiny. I prefer to buy on exchange when I purely see that this project has something.

I think one of the main reason ICO's fail is because of the team behind the project and marketing because the product will be deliver after the ICO so they need to attract investors to put money on their project, also partners and advisors helps the ICO to be trustworthy.

I think it is because there is no actual demand for the project. Many ICO teams have come up with a project and then naively believe that this project will change the world and change the universe. Profits will surely come. But they never consider what the public really needs

most of those who just want to running token sales start selling their tokens fail to hit the target because they can not convince and attract investors to buy their tokens, resulting in sales not on target. in this stage the developer should do a great promotion in crypto media

The major reason for the failure of ico is because too many people lack the knowledge and experience to develop the project but they jump into ico because they see it as chance to settle themselves.

Maybe ICO fails because most of the ICO's coming out in the market are scam or maybe has a low quality projects. And the team and their developers is one factor also that needs to consider.

There are many reasons for failure of some ICO's and main reason is that market conditions are not so good for new ICO now. Market is highly volatile now and price of new coin change as per market fluctuations. Market is dropping so those who invest on high price comes in loss if base coin price dropped so people afraid to invest in these conditions. ICO's will gain ground when market stabilize.
agreed, that now the market is down with a slight increase, so investors will be afraid of buying prices when ICO is going high, but once there the market price falls so investors will think again. for now it's even more scam ICO so it's more worrying than price because it will have a negative impact if it continues.

That is one the main reasons to fail. If the ICO handlers plan for long term with a good scope, ICO will be a success. But good ICOs get an unhealthy up trend right after come to an exchange and it will make a huge nose dive

It seems to me that one of the main reasons is the inability of the project creators to inspire the trust of investors. They can't prove that the project is worth the investment and because of the Finance slowly disappear from the market

Its about content and quality. Some developers sits down and have a thought about a project and feel its going to fly. They only realise what they got into when they try deploying in implementing the idea only for it to collapse. Developers need serious SWOT analysis before they embark on any project.

Well I think when one ICO is successful or has a lot of investors or funding in their name. A lot of other ICOs try to copy them. An imitation of the original trying to cash in to the pioneer. They're trying to imitate everything without thinking. You need good developers and a great team behind it in order to have a phenomenal ICO. It has to be dynamic and the team should never get tired or be satisfied with their creation. They have to think out of the box in order to be more creative and to attract more investors so that their project could be successful.

A good project always finds investors who are willing to invest their money in their project. But to become good he needs to have a good idea, a strong team with an experienced marketer (this is now very lacking). Not everyone understands this because their projects do not even collect softcap.

I think many of the factors that make ICO fail may be a less qualified marketing strategy, the project and the team do not have significant incentives for development, or lack of structure.
