Overall, such endorsments are a good thing as they can advance the mass adoption of blockchain. On the other hand, celebrities advertising scam ICOs may bring the opposite effect and rprevent people from investing in crypto.

this will help cryptocurrency become better known to everyone, as we know, owen is a football player, which is already famous in the world, if owen join cryptocurrency and promote "owen coin", this might be a good thing, people who believe in cryptocurrency will increase, after seeing many celebrities who join cryptocurrency. hopefully this will be a positive news for cryptocurrency, which will lift its popularity in the world.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Michael Owen is launching a cryptocurrency in his own name, joining other famous sportsmen including Manny Pacquiao in a new venture to connect with fans. The retired England star announced Wednesday his investment in the Singapore-based Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX) as he unveiled the “Owen Coin”. http://punchng.com/ex-england-star-michael-owen-to-launch-own-cryptocurrency/amp/Could this be a booster to cryptocurrency because these celebrities have big influence world wide and could invariably canvass more support for cryptocurrency. This is the problem with celebrity endorsements. Many of them are shilling their own coins or ICO or otherwise being paid in some way to shill crypto generally so they can shill a specific coin. Nobody ought to confuse publicity with utility, and just because someone you've heard of before is talking about crypto doesn't make it a good investment. Fame doesn't magically imbue someone with investment knowledge. The only famous people worth listening to about investments are those who are famous because of their investment knowledge, like Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch, Robert Shiller, etc. All these guys are well-known because they're excellent investors. Listening to 50 Cent or some random soccer player about crypto is ridiculous.

GCOX will penetrate the crypto market in no time.

I think someone suggested this idea to Owen. For example, it could be an offer by his investment advisor. Many believe, that cryptocurrency is money from the air and seek to capitalize on this idea.

While I know that celebrities have an enormous influence among their fans I cannot really recommend that someone should invest in something as volatile as cryptocurrencies based on the opinion of their favorite athlete or star, after all people that invest blindly like that are the most likely to lose money in this market, I prefer that people invest in cryptocurrencies once they are convinced that there is a future in this.

Cryptocurrency has proven itself as one of the most profitable business fields of this current decade. I once watched a video about celebrities that entred this business and i remember the tattoo model and artist "Swagg man" is one of many who invested in the early beginnings and he made a fortune out of it. The number is increasing more and more as other cryptocurrencies keep showing and this business will get bigger in the near future.

They can tell which way the wind is blowing, and it's basically easy money to endorse products when you have massive public pull already.

The multiplicity of cryptocurrencies by these increasing endorsements gives credence to the fact that the system would be a household name in the near future. This means that awareness is increasing by the day given the follower-ship of these celebrates.

As a crypto holder, there is nothing to be proud of this news celebrities and sports legends will actually make cryprotuccurencies a laughing matter by new members, could you imagine in the headlines "Michael Owen Creating its own Crptocurrency to buy his products" or "Manny Pacquiao Will Create his Own Crypto, Mayweather will soon Follow" Of course they are big names but do you think the crypto world will benefit from this? It just looks to me that they are using their names to boost their wealth up, this utility tokens are really not worth watching not unless you are planning to pump and dump (which I don't recommend).

It's good to hear that celebrities are endorsing the cryptocurrency, it's a good way to popularised the cryptocurrency and it became more legalized by endorsing cryptocurrency. Its a lot of possibilities that Bitcoin can recognized globally it's a good way to increase the users of cryptocurrency. Honestly people depend on social media and to the celebrity they idolized sooner cryptocurrency will use worldwide.

It is great that most numbers of celebrity is endorsing and advertising cryptocurrency because it is a way for the public to adopt this new currency. Some people think of it as scam and some think of it as a negative way of earning. I think if more celebrities will endorse it,more people will be interested in using it.

There is a good side to this news. I believe that more and more people are interested in Cryptocurrency. Because celebrities are a good place for marketing. On the downside, more and more people will lose money because they are still newbies. Because they will be the main target of the whales.

I agree with you by celebrities endorsing crypto currency many people will acknowledge the digital money as a source of profit and the projects behind this will also be known.
