Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Michael Owen is launching a cryptocurrency in his own name, joining other famous sportsmen including Manny Pacquiao in a new venture to connect with fans.

The retired England star announced Wednesday his investment in the Singapore-based Global Crypto Offering Exchange (GCOX) as he unveiled the “Owen Coin”.

Maybe this is good thing in crypto world that many celebrities involved in cryptocurrency, basically celebrities have many followers and if they're fans noticed that their idols have a new endorsements they support this, so many people will involved in crypto and this might affect crypto values in a good way.

Owen isn't exactly a big name and he probably needs the money, when we have celebrities with big fame and wealth endorsing cryptocurrencies instead of making their own that will be a big difference. I believe that Messi has endorsed Sirin Labs, guys like him and especially Ronaldo are the big ones in football/soccer. It would be nice if one of them would endorse bitcoin but that will never happen because they won't be getting paid for it.

Yeah I agree with this 110%. Would be even more impressive if we could maybe get a really famous singer or actor in the mix too. I don't even know who this Owen person is. Yeah I'm really not into sports at all but I still know most of the big names in the industry,

They also want to have fully control of thier money thats why they indorse cryptocurrency to every people. A bank in the philippines also indorse mining and they will using ethereum too.
It means that know the future of cryptocurrency. They want to make more and more money from new ICO. They know that hundreds of thousands of people are their fans and they will invest in their coin, so they launch their own crypto. On the whole it is good for cryptocurrency investment. By this way people will come to know about crypt world.

More the celebrities endorses better it is for the rest of the investors as their fans will follow them and start buying and with this increase in demand the prices will get a push up which is the most desired at this point of time.

Yes it will be  a big impact if the celebrities are endorsing and supporting Cryptocurrency, although it will be just a HYPE but still more people will be aware of the digital currency and I'm sure they will research more information and if they see the potential then surely more investment will come.

Funny😃😃 who even knows Owen these days? That was back in the days when he was still a football player, as of now, sorry nobody does. The big names now are names like Messi, C. Ronaldo and the rest of them. But even if these people launch a crypto platform it would have no big influence in this. So that Owen is launching a cryptocurrency platform or whatever it is doesn’t mean people will rush into it, it is still what it is.

The North Korean summit  with US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had an extra visitor hyping up a marijuana-focused cryptocurrency. Retired pro basketball player Dennis Rodman arrived in Singapore on June 11th, wearing a T-shirt to rep the virtual currency potcoin.

Owen is the legend of Liverpool and almost all of Liverpool fans in this world know him but indeed he still can't surpassing Gerard achievement and Owen coin will be lack of interest or more likely this is failure project because recently i just checked it through coinmarketcap and this coin hasn't listed at there and apparently Owen big name cannot influence people to bought this coin

Celebrities might start distributing and selling their own personal tokens which would be traded anywhere. Imagine betting with Cristiano Ronaldo tokens on the match he will be playing. It won't happen anytime soon because people don't understand cryptocurrencies and tokens. However it will be a huge step forward when governments decide to ban betting (there are countries where it is illegal).

Good to know if there are a lot of celebrities endorsing cryptocurrency, it means they really believe on crypto and they earned also here that's why they are helping to spread the news about it.
Yeah you are right and it is good for promoting bitcoin throughout the world. There are many fans of celebrities and when they do anything their fans follow them. If they promote bitcoin through advertisement the investment cap will bump in short time, because of the huge number of fans. It is good for themselves and overall for cryptocurrency.

This is a good news, and it only means that cryptocurrency keeps its popularity despite its volatility. Celebrities are very influential, they gain a huge number of audience. The endorsement they made can have a great impact for the progress of the team or network and can contribute the increase in demand.

Celebrities promoting bitcoin worldwide could have a positive and a negative effects in community of bitcoin. Yes ! it is indeed true that there is a big possibility that people who admire them will think to join in here and be part of this organization however the increase of bitcoiners will affects the value of it in the market especially when that people are a fans of their that doesn't know bitcoin well will start to panic selling when they see or heard that it is going down and maybe dump their coins when they don't understand bitcoi well and when that celebrity idol of them will  get out of the community.

Cryptocurrency is one of the easiest investments to make online and it is one where the amount of initial capital and a return of the capital is proportional to each other that means that the celebrities which match both the criteria of having enough financial resources as well as advisors for investment strategy

Yes indeed more and more celebrities are endorsing crypt currencies in this day because of thier own reasons. Well surely what is in common is that they want to be with the growth and getting or generating income. If you are very popular enough surely many of your fans will also follow you not only on what they first know you but also on what are the other way of generating extra income. With this if you endorsed something that thing will surely be followed by more people. And that is one of the power of being popular like the celebrities and that power is also the reason why other people what to be famous or to be celebrity.

273/5000
a very effective step with celebrities as a media to advertise crypto. perhaps for the foreseeable future, such as cristiano ronaldo, will make crypto more attractive.

I just imagine if that happens, and the coin is named CR7.
