Well, imho, scam is not necessarily take away your money. If you give something (your time, your personal data, anything, your signature) because you are promised to be rewarded, but in the end the person/entity is breaking their promise, it might be called scam/fraud.

And BTW when you give your data freely they might sell it to some people, and many people willing to pay for personal data.
You made the point clearly they are collecting data and selling to the required people. Who will take your data new ico launching they might need targeted audience. By collecting email address associated ether address will send malicious link to access your wallet . There is lots of type scamming are there.

Hi everybody,
Lately I am reading a lot of posts asking: is this airdrop a scam? Is that free ICO a scam?

Cheers,
of course it can happen, do not ever be tempted by a project that offers such a big reward by asking a number of eths that can be given to the project if we do not know about the future goals of the project. there are also projects that just take the opportunity to gather people so that the project is seen to have the support of many people to attract the attention of investors to invest in it.

No, I don't think so, two of the airdrop that I participated in is already in the market, and I am in good profit, I don't think they are a scam because you only invest small effort, some of them are only asking to refer your friend only.

Maybe it can be said yes because something free it will not be the same as what we ourselves because getting something free is easy but with most of the free it sometimes there is a scam and Airdrops may not look like a scam because they only give away free coins if you get a free coin lest you give your e-mail address

which is from free to scam it is airdrop. not ICO.
surely you already know what is airdrop, free coins are distributed which in the end is not listing in the market or can be said coins that don't have the price. airdrop usually only use us to promote their coin via twitter or facebook, which usually don't pay us or coins are paid no price.
if ico coins are not free, we have to buy. although ICO may also be a scam.

Cheers,

if someopne require you to fill up some personal data you should doubt that thing , airdrop usually giving your address but not your personal thing so that could be a scam . And maybe the point of scam in any airdrop is that giving you a coin wasting you a time and the coin has no value that could be also the reason why they are asking about the airdrop is a scam.x

Cheers,

Everything could happen and scam is our risk as player, how and when happen is important knowledge we should have. Scam can happen if the product are fail ( has no value ) because of what? developer team doesn't have enough preparation to face reality market. When it happen? no body knows that and as player, prepare for the worst by using stop loss is better. About free ( no coast ) it doesn't matter because become scam not see from this factor. Keep practice and learn from experience can safe us from scam.

My answer is yes and no because you wont know if its a scam. You'll just gonna know it if you already did or got something that is free. But not all free are scams. For me the free things that you get is a blessing and a help from other or donations like that.

This is so true. Although we only got that token for free, we have the right to say the project is a scam or not.
Because it can make the crypto ecosystem damaged. Honestly, this thing sometimes makes me mad.

Something free like I always tell people is that Airdrop is not a scam, it is a free giveaway of coins, it may only have scam intension, but the airdrop is not scam.

Scammers have a lot of ways to lure your data or money. They conduct the usual processing of each investor by the type of pyramid, but people do not cease to believe until the last. Even when they realized that they were deceived, they say but they will return.

Most likely it is a scam. Airdrops that offers you free tokens result to a free support from a lot of people who believed that they will be given the promised coins by the team that lunch the airdrop. In the end, after the ICO is lunch, they will slowly disappear in the radar or they will make absurd excuses about the distribution. This is how you get scammed.

Scammers are everywhere so you need to be careful of what you are doing and never ever share your wallet details while participating in campaigns or airdrops. But some project won't pay the bounty participants at the end so you need to be picky with your bounty selection to make worth your effort.

In my opinion, airdrops and free things are mostly scams. The airdrops they give out is an incentive to attract investors to invest in their ICO's and moreso, very few airdrops are legitimate. Most of the airdrops are scams and not worth time wasted

It all depends on the angle you looking at it from and how you understand the whole project, something that is free for sure can be a scam. To scam doesn't only mean to take away your money as we all know if you premise a thing and you never do that also is scam when you say something to somebody and you action is different from what you said that also is a scam. So scamming comes in different ways.

When you give your data freely to them may be anise that sells it to some people, and many people are willing to pay for personal data. they want to have lots of costumers and followers to show that they have a lot of fans. they want you to help them to attract investors.

Exactly, a quick profit also is a form or scam. But in the case of free, not all free are scam.  That's why a traders or investors should know everything about crypto currency world.  Investing a big amount will usually have a big profit in return but make sure the project should be legit and have a strong foundation and background in the said project.

There are a lot of scam ICO. Scam is something that you give such effort for one month or 60 days and you are waiting for the coins to be send to you soon. While waiting you found out that everything you've did was nothing. The ICO you participated for did not send your payment. They just grab your time and effort to scam others too.
