Will there be an exchange? I heard the devs would have to pay 1 BTC to be listed on crypto-bridge, anyone knows if the devs are planning to pay the 1 BTC for getting listed ?

Thanks.

A Rvn clone, sweet, but unfortunately no overstock news. So pump and dump. Why would anyone invest in this. You also could have thought of a better name, this screams Shitcoin.

Even Dogecoin started as a joke. Years later and it is still here.

There is indeed a big risk in investing mining power in a clone. We, miners in PGN are obviously taking the risk here. A coin name can easily be changed in a re-brand. A coin's purpose can be changed and forked if necessary. Features can be added to improve the coin.

What's difficult to get is miners' interest and community participation. Look at the stats, number of miners and network hash rate are increasing by the hour.  Interest in RVN has spilled over to PGN. It's up to the devs if they can build something worthwhile on PGN and not waste the interest generated by it and the opportunity it represents in building a useful coin. Let's hope they did not make PGN for just a pump and dump scheme.

any coin can be a shitcoin.  what i like is that someone took the open source code from raven and made it better for psu efficiency.

Do you have the problem that ccminer won`t work every per two hours and a half?I tried two pools and same problem. No any clue for this issue and stop to mine PGN,because I have no time look at it all day.The miner I used is nevermore-x16s-win64 from the official github link.

You can now mine Pigeon and more than 180 coins at new autoexchange mining pool Zergpool.com at 0% fee now. Please use following commands for different mining options

Option 1 Auto coin switch by profitability within algorithm with payment to wallet
Code:
 -o stratum+tcp://x16s.mine.zergpool.com:3663 -u <YOURBTCWALLET> -p c=BTC

Option 2 Direct coin mining to coin wallet
Code:
 -o stratum+tcp://x16s.mine.zergpool.com:3663 -u <YOURPGNWALLET> -p c=PGN,mc=PGN

Option 3 Direct coin mining with autoexchange to specified coin wallet
Code:
 -o stratum+tcp://x16s.mine.zergpool.com:3663 -u <YOURBTCWALLET> -p c=BTC,mc=PGN

Please note mc stands for mining coin symbol, c stand for payout coin symbol

Happy mining,
 cheers pinpin

Pigeoncoin (PGN)

On March 21st 2018 Pigeoncoin was launched as a proof-of-concept network for a new algorithm called X16S (shuffle). Pigeoncoin is a forked-fork of Bitcoin. We do everything on Discord. https://discord.gg/SZcf63h

I didn’t want a big richlist so I tried to bring CPU miners in on day one while handling the to-do list. On day five, I asked our group of twelve to start onboarding more miners... the word spread like wildfire through the Ravencoin community. Hashrate jumped from 1.5 MH to 20 MH in an hour, and membership jumped to 100.

The next day, last night, a GPU randowhale nearly burned down the network. @brianmct bailed everyone out with his quickly patched nevermore Nvidia GPU miner. We have one pool up and more are coming. We wanted more time on CPU mining but it just wasn’t in the cards. Hashrate is now 9600 MH and we have ~300 members.

The network has been active for six days. We’ve been out straight since launch. I apologize for not posting sooner. The last 24 hours have caught us with our pants down. After posting this [ANN] I’m going to bed. I hope everyone else is, too.

Why did all this happen so fast?

Some history:

I was an early miner on the x16r (random) Ravencoin network. x16r uses the last sixteen digits of the previous block hash to call its sixteen sub-algos. This pseudo-randomness is said to improve ASIC resistance.

I noticed that x16r GPU miners experience fluctuating power and hashrate. I figured this was because each algo used different amounts of power, and if the hashcycle composition was majority high power algos by chance, it would cause the power to rise. I found the uncertainty made it hard for miners to tune their system, while reducing the efficiency and potentially the lifespan of power supplies. I felt the total cost of mining with x16r could be improved.

My solution was to use the same last sixteen digits to reorder a list of all sixteen algos, and then use that “shuffled” list to call the sixteen sub-algos. The result is a hashcycle with every sub-algo represented once. The composition would be constant, but the randomness would be preserved.

This gave birth to X16S (shuffle) which maintains the legendary randomness of x16r while providing consistency for hashrate and power demand.

Hashrate consistency comparison between x16r and X16S (shuffle).

X16S Whitepaper: https://github.com/Pigeoncoin/pigeonbrand/blob/master/X16S-whitepaper.pdf

Blockchain Stats

We have a 1 minute block time, 5000 PGN reward, 21B cap, 2016 block retarget, 16 shuffled algorithms (X16S shuffle). There was no genesis block reward. There was no premine.

Timestamp reads "Reuters 21/Mar/2018 China stays on the sidelines as Venezuela spirals downward.”

Roadmap

Our initial goal was to prove the algorithm works as intended. Well, we proved success two weeks ahead of schedule thanks to our community, so now we get to try to catch up in all other areas! Expect an official announcement regarding roadmap very soon.

why does nevermore choose to switch dev pool to get donations??? Can' he just draw out hash from the miner??? Once the miner switched to the dev pool, i lost connection forever unless i restarted the miner.

https://github.com/gradinkov/sgminer-x16s/releases/tag/gradinkov1

this is as far as i can achieve to get (with vega). had to move msvcr100.dll into the dir to get that far

edit: also note, your notes mention getting vc-x86, but using the x86 version of msvcr100.dll makes it fail, needed the x64 version : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523
and the 2010 link supplied is a secure link (needs log in)

That doesn't make any sense, all DLLs and exes are 32 bit. Just inspected them all manually.

Anyhow, tried to build with older ADL SDK, you could give it  a go:

https://github.com/gradinkov/sgminer-x16s/releases/tag/gradinkov2

Hi i tried it using sgminer-x16r all what i had to do is to replace the kernel and it worked well without any problem so is the hashrate amount correct?!

https://imgur.com/a/PcWx8

Please explain exactly what you did, i've downloaded the file and extracted it and I have a wallet, what's next?

I used the sgminer-x16r file and replaced the x16s.cl kernel from the downloaded folder it worked but the hashrate is very low (RX 480 27 kh/s, RX 470 26 kh/s) plus i can't see it in suprnova dashboard

AMD miners will have to stick to Cryptonight/Ethash algo. I don't see a bright future for AMD miners... you might want to consider selling your cards now since GPU prices are still high and buy NVIDIA (that's what I would do).

Good luck !

Hello all,

Sorry this is a bit late (was tied up the last few days with work stuff).

I've added support for x16s to the latest release of my sgminer fork: https://github.com/brian112358/sgminer-x16r/releases

There's no devfee, so if you find this useful, please consider either making a donation to, or mining to my PGN donation address: PKvGAk3qEQYy4i4uEmiiD33BytSm6xU8DT

Cheers,
brianmct

If you are in US and looking for a fast x16s/x16r pool with 0.0% Fees, try https://fasterpool.com

I'm looking to get more test users onboard to see the full potential of a dedicated bare metal box with 8x Xeons and 10Gbit uplink.

-a x16s -o stratum+tcp://fasterpool.com:3663 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> -p c=PGN

P.S. I'm not new on the board, just created a new account to be able to provide more focused support if needed.
