I too receive free tickets every free roll, but since the price is only 1 Satoshi, sometimes I'm tempted to buy more myself, especially when I see that people frequently win good prizes with around 1k tickets(an amount you can't accumulate from free rolls in one week.) As for 1 ticket for every 0.00000500 BTC wagered, I decided that I'd rather buy 1 ticket for 1 satoshi, but if you play Multiply BTC game anyway, then it's a good bonus for you.

It doesn't matter how much a ticket costs. It doesn't make any difference even if each ticket costs 1 mBTC. Because you are not the only person who buys tickets at 1 satoshi.
Also, your chance will not increase if you buy tickets at 0.1 satoshi.

Assume that 200 million tickets have bee distributed among participants and each ticket costs 1 satoshi. You spend 1 mBTC and buy 100,000 tickets. In this case your chance to win the first place of the lottery would be 100,000/200,000,000=0.05%.

If the price of each ticket is 1 mBTC, your chance of winning doesn't change. In this case you will buy 1 ticket with your 1 mBTC and total number of tickets will be 2000. Your chance will be 1/2000=0.05%.

So, if you think buying lottery tickets is a good opportunity because they are cheap, you are completely wrong.
It's like that someone says I prefer dogecoin to bitcoin, because a dogecoin costs only 0.002 dollar. Instead of buying one bitcoin I can buy 4 million dogecoin. Total supply should be also considered. And in a lottery you should pay attention to total number of tickets and also the percentage of the total pool which will be awarded to winners.

You are making me feel tempted for a long punt now, the range for 10k pick would be 7.5k all the way upto 17.5k then.    Thats a really decent range to hit a bet, playing darts with a bullseye the size of a barn door is a game I could win though the prize is divided. Along the way in typical BTC fashion it'll swing to extremes and attract lots of contrary price predictions.  
  My favourite bet used to be to back 1 team and then sell that bet half way through the game while they were doing well.   Even if they lost at full time, I won.

I just buy bitcoins straight up and that is my gamble

Options is a form of leverage as I understand it so the further out the call, say 2021 price in this case the more expensive the option is.   Right near the end they can be near free as quite unlikely, worth checking the price now as I guess its possible they sell too cheaply the 20k call when we all know it is possible.    Generally I would expect to be paying a premium a bit like insurance costs me money and rarely do I celebrate that.  
  A famous seller of options would be Warren Buffet who took the sentiment low around the great recession and wrote high SP500 price options (its all time highs now).   He had to deploy some capital but I have no doubt it paid well for him, also he is famous for running insurance.

That's going to depend on the speed of your device and internet latency. You can get more bets per second by running multiple instances simultaneously. From what I have seen 3 bets per second would be more realistic an expectation that 10.

I used to do that when reward points had more value. I've been collecting lottery tickets instead of rw points since they reduced to price from 2sats for 1rp to 1sat for 1rp.

You need at least 100k rp to cash out. You can use them to boost your daily claims too but I don't feel the necessity.

I don't get the lambo ticket discussion. This has been talked probably millions of times even before lambo thing started for the regular lottery as well. Here is the short version, how much tickets you have both matters and doesn't matter at the same time. How could that be possible?

Well, simply even a person with 1 ticket could win the lambo, that is still quite possible because only one ticket will win and that ticket could be held by someone who only has 1 ticket, but at the same time having thousands of tickets do increase your chance to have that single one thing that wins as well, so it both matters because increases the possibility but also doesn't matter because you can have %99.99 of all tickets and could potentially still lose in the end as well.

It doesn't matter how much a ticket costs. It doesn't make any difference even if each ticket costs 1 mBTC.

It does matter, actually. I wouldn't buy more tickets to increase my win chance, if the price was 1 mBTC, because I don't want to throw away $8, or even more, knowing that most likely I'm going to lose anyway. But if I can increase my win chance by 200% with buying 200 sats worth of tickets, why not? I know that my win chance will still be extremely small, but I can afford losing $0.016.

So, if you think buying lottery tickets is a good opportunity because they are cheap, you are completely wrong.

For me, it's a good opportunity to have fun with participating in the lottery. I'm not that kind of person who expects winning in a lottery with buying more tickets. My first priority is to not risk more money than I can easily afford to lose. And if I win in the process, that's great, but what is more important to me is to not lose a significant amount with gambling.

You realize you don't have to take the car do you? You can choose to take the grand prize in bitcoins. (~25 bitcoins from the current BTC/USD rate) If you choose to take bitcoins and keep them, no paperwork, no tax nothing, unless you decide to cash out to FIAT. (depends on your country of residence.)

Maybe a little bit offtopic but if you generate interest from your coins you have very strict taxing rules in many countries, for example here in central europe.
BTC generated from interest are eg. tax eliglibe for 10 years (50% tax), which makes them not as lucrative as it seems in the first place.

It used to be easier, years ago when the price was $200-500 for a piece. And even easier when the price was $10. Guess what, I made my first serious purchase around $2k. Even though I've known bitcoin since 2013. I've seen it going down from $1k to $180. Didn't buy.


Don't get obsessed with these round numbers. Bitcoin is a deflationary asset which is advancing progressively.

What I mean is, what is done is done.

If having one btc is too hard for you, then you should think about satoshi-wise. Every satoshi helps. Stack dem sats. And freebitco.in's annual %4 is helping greatly for you to build your sats stack.

It's great that even if the user 16446041 bought all of his tickets, it worked out good for him in the end. He's a lucky guy who spent a bit over 0.01 BTC on tickets and won almost 0.35 BTC. Next week I think the CME will finally launch Bitcoin Options so you guys can start taking bets there pretty much speculating if you really think it will hit $20K or $100K by the end of the year.

Since the futures platform is regulated you don't need to worry about issues with empty insurance funds to cover the losses if BTC indeed does have a crazy rally from here to about $20-$100K.

However you will see when the bitcoin options launch the premium for crazy calls like $20K+ are all going to be cheap because many are fairly confident that it won't reach that high.

So buying these options is more of like a bet, basically low probability, low risk but very high reward if it actually works out. Kind of like playing dice on 5/100 odds.
