You are not wrong with the psychological projection you have described of how freebitco.in customers expectations have been through the years since when the casino went dark on them.

I have taken my time to go through few pages in this thread  and I agree it would have been better long ago that this thread got buried and people whose money are still held in the casino get over it gradually. But given it that this thread continue to be active with discussions, their hopes  for a spectacle outcome remain sustained.

I get why you believe we should stop talking about this topic and move onto something completely different, and assume this money is lost forever. However, I have this personal point of view on how the Bitcoin community is not supposed to wipe under the rug situations like this one and forget about millions of dollars being stripped off thousands or millions of people.

By continuing to talk about this scam, we are doing exactly the opposite of what scammers want. They want us to move on.

If the discussions here stop, this thread will quickly get buried among the other pages in the gambling section, and sooner or later people will start to forget about the Freebitcoin scam. So yes, it makes sense to keep discussing this thread, at least to warn any uninformed users, if there are still any, about the scam. And for those users who have lost money on this site, discussions in this thread are also useful for coordinating efforts and finding at least some kind of solution.

Not sure how many peoplestill have false hope that sitaution will resolve and they will get their money back. I check this thread time from time and always see same things discussed. Not sure why you remembered their DOGE faucet 7 years after closure, but yeah, I also used it and earned some nice amount of DOGE. I still have some in my wallet, but I haven't touched it in years.

I partialy agree, if we continue to talk about this scam here on this thread then there will be less chances for newbies in this forum to deposit and lose their money to those scammers. However, there are better places for victims to coordinate and try to hold scammers accountable because of their actions. That is why I mentioned Discord, Telegram or other places which allowed people to massively join into a single chat.
This forum is good to get information about those criminals, but not fast enough to shift coordination.

Now that their site is gone? this actually the sign that people stop thinking about that there's a settlement will happen. They are ignoring people for long time and now they doing such action that means they are already running on their obligations.

But its understandable that people still discuss about what happened to freebitco.in here, since some of them just post their frustration and other want to share their opinion towards the ongoing situation happening on them.

Hopefully freebitco.in operators cannot easily escape with their scam and we heard that they are caught by authorities.

I’m saying that mere correspondence accomplishes nothing.
A more effective approach is:
- to spread the word widely across all platforms that FreeBitco.in is a scam
- not to waste time but to take proactive steps. From what I’ve read in this thread, only 1 or 2 people have actually taken concrete action by filing complaints with the appropriate authorities.
- Tell the victims what they need to do, including providing a simple checklist that outlines the steps, documents, evidence, and the agencies where they should file complaints

And empty chatter only plays into the scammers’ hands—time passes, the problem "fades away",...

I think I have seen more than just a couple of people filling formal complaints to authorities here on this thread... And considering the huge amount of users who were active on this casino, I would expect thousands of complaints to have already been filled against Freebitcoin.

And I agree, it is not just about having pointless chatter, but also to spread the word on what happened and keep ourselves up-to-date on the state of this on going scam...

FreeBitco.in is currently unavailable, and there are now many different theories and speculations being discussed here about what may have happened.

Instead of only discussing it here, I strongly encourage everyone who is affected to file a report with the appropriate authorities.

You do not have to be American to report what happened. I am from Europe, and I have already submitted reports to both FBI IC3 and FinCEN.

It took only a few minutes, and I received a reference number from FinCEN confirming receipt of my submission.

You don't need to know exactly what happened. Report what you know and what you experienced.

Include your FreeBitco.in account information, pending withdrawals, relevant dates, wallet addresses, transaction hashes, screenshots, emails, and anything else that may help investigators.

Bitcoin is not anonymous. Blockchain transactions are publicly recorded and can be traced. The fact that a transaction was made using Bitcoin does not mean that it cannot be investigated or followed.

So if you have money stuck at FreeBitco.in, I believe it is worth spending a few minutes to make a report.

Don't just speculate here. Report it.

Yes, that's the way to go and it's always worth to fight. If people don't fight and they won't create a discomfort for Freebitco's owner, he will be relaxed and will not hesitate to continue scamming people in the future but if we give him at least a headache, he might think twice and in the best case, we might caught him and he will pay for his sins.

It is not difficult to catch them (especially if their identity is known), but the fact is that some US agency will not spend its resources on such cases if their citizens are not harmed in large numbers. If it is true that the main person in all this has diplomatic immunity and obviously good political protection, then it is not surprising that nothing is happening (at least for now).
