Looks like Freebitco is gone and not coming back.
They stole 100 000 of my FUN tokens. Not much by when I wanted to withdraw last year I could get $2000. They also have 0.01 of my BTC there.
From my part, I wrote to Namecheap and FBI, but I am not American. Of course, I got no response from either of them.
That is still a lot of money. There were signs that Freebitco was a scam from the initial days itself though very few people took them seriously since it took off out of nowhere. Am glad that you tried to report them at the very least since many don't bother at all. Namecheap is one of the worst registrars out there while FBI are basically useless when it comes to these kinds of issues, but it's still better to report to them than to do nothing at all. I forgot to state that I also wrote to Curaçao Gaming Authority. Still no response

I wouldn't expect much from Curacao Authorities though they might respond if you keep pressuring them via repeated complaints. They are definitely much better than Anjouan when it comes to responding to player complaints based on what I observed. Freebitco team don't care about their reputation anymore which is why they lack the fear needed to subdue them into submission in order to get your funds.

I forgot to state that I also wrote to Curaçao Gaming Authority. Still no response I think it would require several people doing the same in order for them to actually pay attention to us and the case of Freebitcoin. Let us remember, there are a lot of people who send messages to the administration of Curaçao just because they have lost money on casinos or bookies, without providing any evidence of wrong doing by those casinos. I think because of situations like that one, Curaçao mostly take allegations seriously if they are contacted formally through a lawyer or group of lawyers representing some allegedled victims...

I’d like to use your post to ask the community a question: aren’t there any lawyers in the crypto community who could organize a class-action lawsuit—and who hold citizenship in countries that these organizations wouldn’t be able to ignore? I think that would be a good and significant step for the community!

Doesn’t the truth look different this way?
It looks different, but that is the point. There are people who need to keep their own personal narratives up so they can safeguard their own ego and psyque in general. To the extent, some even go as far as getting themselves in imaginary situations. There is only one absolute truth, but for the sake of one well being, we are capable of creating several truths, our own truth which suits us the best Creating an alternative reality, whether it’s a saving one or a more comfortable one, does not change actual reality. It’s almost a form of self-deception, which means that not only is it ineffective, but it’s often dangerous as well. It’s important to understand that trying to deceive oneself never solves the problem, it only makes it worse. It is actually a form of self-deception, but it is quite common when someone is going though a crisis, either a mental, economical or personal crisis which seems to be bigger than the capabilities of the person. So the person makes up his own reality, separated with the actual world, as a defense mechanism. When comes to scams like this one's of massive hacks which could cost people their life savings, the feeling of misbelief and shock can lead people to change their own perception of reality in order to cope with sadness, depression and feelings of helplessness.

There are probably a couple of lawyers in the crypto community here in this forum that could achieve that, but such stuff is usually tedious to tackle and doesn't lead to favorable results(BC.Game, 1xbit etc) which is why they avoid intervening. These are the obvious risks involved when dealing with different kinds of crypto gambling sites sadly.

Right. I think we can agree on that. But I also feel we are getting too much off topic with this conversation, so we better focus on what is currently going on with this casino. I just checked on their online status and I was unable to access to their services from my browser. It seems they continue to be down, since it was first reported here on this thread. I assume they have decided to completely allow their façade to fall off and make a run with all the money they have gotten.

They bought themselves a lot of "breathing room" by creating the appearance of taking some action, like "we’ll recalculate the balances", while some of the victims were still hoping for a miracle; then they "covered their tracks" and simply "vanished". This is the very same tactic I wrote about earlier, stalling for time, making various statements, just to have enough time to cover up all the problematic areas while the victims are busy with discussions rather than taking concrete action against the scammers.

Yes, it's possible, but normally top officials have connections in every important field including law enforcement. That's what they, scammers, are counting on. And in all cases the outcomes are different, but I hope in this particular case, even though I personally haven't lost a lot because of this scam, I hope they will go to jail for a long time. These scammers that used names “wetsuit”and “TheQuin” here must be punished.

We don't know if they're the scammers. wetsuit was the founder and original owner of the site, while TheQuin was an employee. At some point in this thread, there was speculation that the site might have been sold to third parties. If that were true, those third parties would be the ones who carried out the exit scam. But there’s so much we don’t know about this. And I don’t think we’ll ever find out, given how complicated the case is.

What we are sure about real situation happening here, is they compromised lots of people and broke the trust of their long time clients or players. Their site is down for long time and this is enough proof to conclude that they are not returning anymore. Shutting down their site is like putting the nail in the coffin and although this is really unfortunate, but its good for affected individual to move on to avoid stress.

If they sold the platform to someone else they should have announced it to their customers. What happened is that they simply vanished in the air, just like scammers do, without giving any explanations or guidance to the website's users. In case they sold the platform, they should be the first ones to come here and tell that to us, especially once the first signals that something was wrong with freebitco.in started appearing.

After all those years of being active in the forum, they did they just go quiet? I think if they were selling off the platform, the best thing they would have done was mention about it in the forum like I have seen other great past casinos do. The burden is now on them, whether they were scammers or not.

There are millions of clients which have had their money withheld by those scammers, and keeping in mind the long trajectory of Freebitcoin, I would not be surprised there was an important percentage of gamblers who actually believed the words of the administration of this casino. If we are realistic, I think there is still some chance for people to organize themselves and go after for those scammers. If they are already having trouble to keep their domain up, it means people can stop pretending or lying to themselves and move onto action...

But there’s so much we don’t know about this. And I don’t think we’ll ever find out, given how complicated the case is.
After all those years of being active in the forum, they did they just go quiet? I think if they were selling off the platform, the best thing they would have done was mention about it in the forum like I have seen other great past casinos do. The burden is now on them, whether they were scammers or not. There is a version in this thread that Freebitco got sold but I can't believe that. Firstly, if Freebitco got sold, the owners would announce it because if they sold it and people still think that the owner is the same team, if something goes wrong, their reputation will be damaged and secondly, why wouldn't new owners want to announce that they bought Freebitco? They could use the old trust and popularity of Freebitco and do rebranding in a way that they would completely reshape the website and attract even more customers and potentially generate even more money. Also, if Freebitco got new owners, then why did new owners abandoned the website? It doesn't make sense to acquire a business and then abandon it.

Saw an article saying Dropbtc.io is them, it popped up around the same time the site went offline but idk…
Could you please share the article ? I think it is important you do so, as there is knowledge everyone in this thread would like to have at their disposal. This is the first time I have hard about that service, and the fact they appeared at the same time freebitcoin went offline seems to be quite a big red flag.
Quite ironic they are pretty much doing the same any other scam casino would do once everything goes south and they are exposed; to come back with a completely different name, so they can continue to scam people... i guess they were not getting enough deposits with their already stained name...

That's interesting. Now I'm wondering if this site was created by the same people who ran freebitco.in after pulling off the exit scam, or if it was someone else—or a group of people—who took advantage of the vacuum left after the site had been offline for several weeks to set up an identical site in an attempt to lure unsuspecting users. I'd bet on the latter. Without knowing for sure, the people running freebitco.in have probably made off with a lot of money and don't need to get into another mess to make more. In any case, investing any amount of money on this new site is somewhat risky.
