I just came here to say that the verge team is still full on trying to act like this is no big deal. They're acting like the issue is resolved on telegram and are banning anyone who point people to this thread. The exploit is being exploited right now...

Based on what I see from the dev postings here it's apparent that if ocminer had never brought this to everyone's attention, the XVG team would have never admitted to or disclosed what happened.

Trying to downplay and being flippant about the severity here is just pissing on XVG investors.

Yeah this x100. If it wasn't posted here, the dev would have done zilch. Didn't ocminer even approach the dev before posting here? The dev basically responded "yeah lul that's how it's intended to work"

Interesting to see, even after such scam attack, that compared to any other alt coins the price of Verge seems not to fall deeper than any other. How does this come. I would have expected Verge price drop significantly.

makes you think if they wanted attention brought to it at all? That island video really doesn't seem funny now.

Yea, I pulled my rigs off verge till things get fixed. Still looks like the exploit is happening just on a smaller scale than witnessed before.

The whole verge team is downplaying this like it's no issue at all. They don't tell them that it basically makes it a centralised currency. Not even crypto anymore.

yeah pools are still finding blocks, and this wont be an issue anymore shortly. we will be pushing an update and contacting all pool admins.

also, to clarify, this isn't a hack, it's an exploit/attack on mining, and will be resolved very soon. of course i'm calm, this happens in crypto all the time.

how much eth has been stolen this year? this is insignificant in contrast.

Kinda off topic - Really hurts seeing all those dudes on the new Verge Tweet getting scammed by those "Send me ETH and I'll send you more ETH back" scams.
Wonder how many people get burned off crypto due to those kind of scams.

Well eth has a real use case and is actually valuable so that's probably why there's more time spent in figuring out exploits for it. Can you please explain why you initially wrote off ocminer when he approached you and only decided to take action after a post was made? Were you hoping that no one would hear of it?

Things like this happen every once in a while but some people think it is verge exit strategy and I hope not. Verge seems to be a good coin hopefully they recover and produce a stronger security next time.

Than in my opinion with every official announcement, statement, whatever, there should be some warning added that some 100s of scam attempts are following the tweet .... In my opinion even if the account/profil holder can not do much, like deleting these posts, at least he should be responsible for adding some preventive measures as much as he can after he is aware of these scam practices taking place every time, not?

There is a reason why people trust well know official pages/profiles more than some random pages, and this is right now exposed by these scammers while the profil/site owners do just .... nothing to protect their visitors.

Sorry, what do you mean by "fix"? You're saying he made a mistake and that what he quoted you as saying, you never said? Because he literally quoted you.

Sorry mate. This is an issue with ALL Crypto's on Twitter.
Also you need to do your own due diligence with this kind of stuff - Check the Twitter Handle.

I've reported numerous fake accounts and that is the only thing as users we can do.
IF someone is offering you something for nothing. It's probably too good to be true!

i understand where your comming from, and i am in agreement with what you say
but maybe its better that twitter takes its responsibility and makes it a all crypto related twitter acc banner or something like that
but to me the quoted post was to mutch putting the empathis on the 'new verge tweet'. thats all
