Awesome write-up.  Thank you!

Edit:  Dang, if I can see it (with the help of the suprnova write-up, thank you again) that's bad.  Really bad.  I'm an old salt developer from the iterative days and it would seem to be a simple matter of having second time signal locked to USN atomic clocks and others as a control.

I never liked this coin, it was too much suspicious for me.. this is the third time that the team asking for free money from users, this time they don't even announced for what exactly.. just a "partnership". Also basically only one guy is the main head of the project... and not counting the fact that verge say it is a privacy coin but has nothing more than other coins.. saying "use thor tobe anon" sounds quite hilarious..
Let's see if thry survive this time.

CryptoRekt - Yesterday at 11:54 PM
its because of OCminer that the entire fucking internet got on our ass
"herp derp lets make a public post"
Dumbass

LOL it's not because of anyone but your dumbass code.
It reminds me of the safecoin people leaving the KMD notary node mining capabilities open and then bitching that "We were attacked".  Nope, you just don't understand your code.
He made a public post because you blew a respected community member off about the issue.  Thank god I sold my XVG 3 months ago.

We are seeing a project die in real time. Unfortunately many will lose money on this, but it was not for lack of warnings. Since the big boom with mcaffee twitter we see a great marketing plan from VERGE. But little was done to make the project work. Attacks are serious. Read the main concerns of Satoshi when it started. He wanted to build something that resisted the attacks, that would work forever.

Can someone elaborate whats happening. ExplainLikeim5. Thanks =)

Your best to read through the whole post to get a good understanding of what has happened.

On another note, this is hardly the first crypto to be hit like this and most probably won't be the last..... don't really see why people are freaking out so badly.... shit happens like this all the time.... Welcome to crypto.

Stop being so nonchalant. You're behaving like Sunerok. It's actually quite a big deal.

clearly you have not been in crypto that long lol..... i am not going to panic or worry.... a fix will be released as it has always been done with soo many different crypto coins. i have seen this happen so many times and everything has always recovered at the end of the day, may take weeks or months but it eventually recovers. the team is working on a fix just like many other coin devs did...

How does this thread have 12 pages of replies when it was literally just 24 hours old.

I believed in XVG a lot, thought it would surpass Monero and TRTL. But now I'm not so sure.

This seems like a significant problem and no other coin has experienced this.

I'm just wondering, but how many coins did the malicious miners get to mine with these 1-second blocks? If it's like a million verge or something... then wow Cheesy maybe we should all exploit this!

If Sunerok doesn't think it's a big deal Cheesy then that means it's okay right? And the instructions are right there in OP. Is there really a difference between maliciously mined coins and legitimately mined coins? Aren't they both the same coins? If so, then...

It's very rare, first I actually witnessed even though price will definitely recover. Plenty of dumb money in the market.

I don't have thousands upon thousands of dollars of verge. But shit happens. Look at how long ETN took to get their shit together. And did it moon? Sure as hell did. Did the community lose faith in ETN? Hell no.

Hahaha, worst example ever. Electroneum's shit is far from 'together' and it's sitting at around ICO price..go into their subreddit and tell me that the sentiment about the project isn't turning more negative by the day.

Which makes it even worse. You'd expect a top 10 minable coin not to have such blatant holes in its code in early 2018 frankly. At least I do.

Still not receiving coins on x17 supernova.  It shows hashing and my share rate and stuff but, nothing. The last ten transactions that happened hours ago were orphaned. Is it just the pool I’m on or is this everywhere?
