Argentina would be interesting to watch. But everything will depend upon how the chemistry works out between Paulo Dybala and Lionel Messi. I have heard that Jorge Sampaoli is not very fond of Dybala and may want him to sit on bench for the first match.

Top challenges are usually Germany, Brazil, France, but I always liked to support weaker teams and higher odds. O think there are few teams that can make a solid surprise and maybe even get to finals. Argentina, Spain, maybe even Portugal, I and Belgium can make something more this year. Croatian have a great team too, underdogs like Uruguay and England can surprise as well, long shots but in football anything can happen with a little luck.

Germany and Brazil deserve called the most favourite teams in this competition because almost from every generations to generations they have talented players however i'm curious to see the achievement from long shots participants countries such as Iceland or Panama that whether they will able to defeat strong team on group phase or not

It’s Brazil which has more chances to win this time. Well, this is my personal opinion. Germany would be a tough opponent for Brazil but it will easily win other matches. Not that easily but still most of them would be a piece of cake for this team.

Weak teams can defeat the strong ones only if they will have better luck on their match days. But still, this is going to thrill everyone around the world.

Odd`s for Germany 5.50, France 6.50 risking to bet on both can be a good decision. 1 btc on one and 1 btc on others, in the end you win a lot of money if it`s happens. Thank you Barbut. I would even add that anything is possible, even favorites dropping out of group stage. Remember 2002. when Portugal and Argentina, 2 best teams besides Brazil didn't get through? Remember what happened to England, France, Spain not so long ago .. Heck... look what happened to Italy (it this the first one they will miss?)!

Brazil will be almost everybody's favorites against Belgium, but I give Belgium a slight 60-40%. Portugal - Croatia is 50-50%, but I still remember Euro (a hard wound) where Croatia outplayed Portugal in all elements of the game except the reactions from the bench (we had a very lousy coach back then). I also wouldn't put Croatia in the final, but again - looking at the brackets, it looks possible (I tried to be as objective as I could) something similar to the situation with France (although France has a much stronger team.... so many young stars).

I am a kind of a person who never underestimates opponent even if the difference in skill level is crystal clear. Going easy on a weak team can turn out to be a big mistake. In this FIFA world cup, Brazil is going to be my team but neither Belgium is a weak team for me nor should Brazil go easy with their practice. Anything can happen so a man should give his best under all circumstances. I see more potential in Portugal than Croatia.

I think you little bit overestimate Ronaldo's role. No doubt, he is the leader and the best player, but if you ask me who is the most important person in their team, I will name Fernando Santos. He managed to reveal every players' best qualities 2 years ago in France and built not bright, but very strong in defense team with a great spirit to fight for each other (which resembled me of Greece from 2004 and current Simeone's Atletico). Moreover, Ronaldo is already 33, he doesn't seem to be as good in the issue of winning games alone as it used to be even 2 years ago, so I suppose their National Team's success much more depends on the result of Santos work connected to tactical issues and team chemistry.

As for the comparing of Portugal and Croatia, I think there is something like 50/50. I agree that Croatia has better and more sophisticated players, but it didn't help them on Euro and I consider Santos to be much more skillful coach than Zlatko Dalic.

Neymar Jr indeed is the ace in hand for Brazil but he alone cannot win the World Cup 2018 Russia. Besides, I think Brazil has some other players which come among the best of the world. Daniel Alves, his PSG friend, Silva, Marcelo, Diego, Ederson all are good players. Football matches depend on whole team. But whatever the case is going to be, this world cup is going to thrill us.

Yes, most of us tend to do it, but we really shouldn't. There is the opposite thing as well. You should never be afraid of your opponent if you know you are better. Respect - good, fear - bad. I see both Brazil and Belgium teams as very strong but very flawed (and with easily detected flaws too) and miles from the pedestal. Although they might even reach semi-finals on the shear strength of the team, I really don't think they have a clear shot at the title.

hey, we have the same favorite team, I choose Brazil as the winning team too although I don't know the player so far, I think Brazil will do the best to be the winning team. besides that, I think the other countries like Netherland, France, England, Germany will do the same things as Brazil. but I don't think that Argentina will have a chance to enter the quarter but who knows.

I've already written about it. I consider Egypt to have more chances on advancing from group A and let me try to explain again why.

1) An aggregated skill of players seems to be nearly the same for both teams, but I consider Egyptians to be better due to having such personalities as Salah, Hegazy, Elmohamady, Elneny, Sobhi, and some others, who have enough experience of playing in best European leagues.

2) I've mentioned in this post the limit on foreign players in Russia and explained, why it has terrible affection on the motivation of our players.

3) Stanislav Cherchesov is a weak and stubborn coach. Tomorrow he is going to announce the list of 35 players, who will prepare for the World Cup, and I am afraid there won't be Igor Denisov (the captain of current Russian Champion) and Artyom Dzyuba (one of the best forwards in the Spring part the season) in it. Every football fan in Russia knows Cherchesov doesn't like both of them and can ignore them just because of personal antipathy. I suppose smart and experienced Hector Cuper is much more skillful and sophisticated coach and he will manage to find and exploit weaknesses in Cherchesov's tactic.
