re: Issues with S2 firmware, have you considered running Kano's firmware ? I've been running it since shortly after taking delivery and haven't had any issues with my S2's.
What are the problems you are seeing with your S2 ?
Besides the inherent vulnerability that hasn't been fixed? Well my S2s get the same or LOWER hashrates on Nicehash and Westhash. That's a problem for me personally. I'd love to see an S2 firmware load from Bitmain that includes a recent version of cgminer. But bitmain seems intent on merely pushing new hardware out the door. And I'd actually consider buying their new hardware IF they actually supported the products they'd already sold. Kano's firmware might be excellent but the thing is as customers we shouldn't have to run someone else's firmware to have a secure, up to date version of the S2 firmware. That's like expecting everyone who buys an iPhone to root it and load Android so they can have an up to date OS on their phone. So Bitmain - please consider honoring your support commitment and release a new version of the S2 firmware before you continue to flood us all with SPAM to buy your latest hardware.

AntMiner S3+ Batch 11 opens sale now, price has dropped to 0.535btc per unit, coupon is being issued Never mind about the sales pitch for S3's - where's the S2 firmware fix you promised us over two months ago?

Hmmm... Even kano's firmware contains old cgminer (I said about settings above). Do you need any comment on it?

yes, and as well as can be expected at this point… you will have trolls that will say otherwise but I own their product and the company works to support it when its out in the field . Thats my opinion .

My S2 with kano's FW doesn't save settings on reboot. If you know how to fix it - please share this knowledge with the community.
I honestly don't know how to respond to this I have not seen this issue with not saving settings on reboot on two S2's running the Kano firmware :| This, after a couple power failures, and manual power cycles - all have come up just fine :| Sorry to hear you are having trouble with it and I wish I could be of more help. Again, I'm not certain what problems you are seeing, but if I were to hazard a guess, it's P2Pool related issues ? I don't mine there, which might explain why I'm not seeing potential issues.

No, it's when all pool and network related settings rolling back to some defaults, not my settings... And I am forced to connect to 192.168.1.99 again, set my pools/workers/passwords, enable DHCP...

Planning to but 10 C1s. New to mining so some stupid questions. Can someone please link me to which PSUs can I use to run them? Will the 250watt PSUs work fine? And I will have to buy seperate PSU for each C1? How much load will they put? Will I have to put 10 seperate ethernet cables in each of them? How many units will one C1 consume/hour? 0.8units eh? ill be thankful if you help me out

WHY U NO UPDATE S2
They just don't care. ) Keep it in your minds, you all, if you are planning to buy something from such a company. You may be right about that. Let's review. The S2 was released in Apr of 2014, right? For a cost of around $4,000. That's Apr. Of this same year. As in 6 months ago. And now Bitmain seems to have decided it's not worth their time/effort to release updates for a product that's less than 1 year old. So the simple question is if Bitmain doesn't think their products are worth supporting six months after they were released why should anyone buy their products? You're taking a serious risk buying anything from Bitmain. They won't get any more of my money.

The C1 is not for you. 1) you didnt even ask about the liquid cooling - you'll spend more time, money, and space to set up radiators for the units then you will just getting S3+ units, particularly if you have the 0.035BTC coupons (I have a dozens of these, willing to sell for 0.025BTC each) 2) each board with individual PCIe connectors requires about 190W of 12V power. A S3+ has 2 boards, a C1 has 4 boards. Using 10 C1 units and 250W PSUs you would need 40 power supplies. Alternatively, you could buy 7 1200W power supplies. 3) yes, 1 ethernet per unit. you can buy a 8-port or 16-port switch fairly cheap though. get the S3+ instead

^^^ Can you apply multiple coupons to one purchase or are the you limited to one coupon per S3+ ? If the former (i.e multiple coupons to one purchase), are you open to offers?

You are really helping. So how much will the cooling units cost? I am really looking forward to buy your coupons. So C1 has 4 boards and S3 has two. That means that ill have to connect 2 pci-e pins in S3 and 4 pci-e pins in a C1? ... Ummm I have to connect the boards with pci-e? Right? if yes, then can I connect a single C1 with 2 PSUs? (just curious). so s3 doesnt need liquid cooling? Can you tell some more benefits.
