It's depend on which investment you want to invest. If you want to invest on ICOs then its better for long term investment because ICO needs time for the token to increase like 6months - years to develop the project. In my opinion, long term investment is targeting for high profit and short term investment for low profit.

This will depends on how you will manage your investments and if you have knowledge in trading then this will be a good opportunity to invest in short term but if you had no enough time to monitor prices then just invest in long term and wait for the rise of prices. Both had a profitable outcome if you decide at the right time.

Short term investment is a less risky thing in my opinion because when you do long-term investments you can get into the dip like we are experiencing today...some people bought BTC for 12-15k$ and just imagine how they feel?

Depends on what kind of profit you want and how risky you want to be. Short term investment will give you a burst of profit in the short run but with this comes higher risk of losing everything on the short run. On the other hand, long term profit will give you a decent profit but the time taken to receive those profit is actually high. In this case the risk is less since crypto currencies tend to increase in price in the long run.

In that kind of situation  , I think the best way to do is to hold your coin because selling is not applicable since most of the coin prices are low and I really prefer long term investment because I can earn a good profits from that method.

I have already realized that hodl strategy does not work, you can only lose it, not earn, because a strong pump is very rare and you can not hope for it. In any case, you should manage your capital, and not hope that everything will happen by itself and the money will earn themselves.
