Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

I agree that Bitcoin is a speculative asset. Maybe it will change in the future, but I am hoping that it will be a positve one.

The volatility of bitcoin does not make it conducive to be used as a currency. A currency should be able to be stabilized for some period of months but bitcoin does not meet this standard. The only available use for bitcoin now is investment.

no, bitcoin is not failed it is successfully performs its duty in every cases.

Yes bitcoin is a digital currency but it is also good in investment. As we can see bitcoin is not legalize world wide so it can't be used in the country that banned bitcoin as a payment furthermore it is volatile and has a limited supply maybe in the next 10 years or so we can see it as a currency as it was made for that not just a speculative asset.

In current state it's failed as a currency, mainly because expensive & slow transactions (from crypto currency perspective) and volatility. Don't really see this changing in the future.

Bitcoin could (like people have suggested) serve as a store of value like gold but btc as of the past couple of months has not been really a safe haven in this respect (since price all over the place).

In my opinion bitcoin is already worth to use as currency. So far bitcoin has been used as a payment system and merchants that support bitcoin is increasing. Concerning the conclusion that bitcoin succeeds or fails as a currency, just wait first because this process is still going on.

Bitcoin is an online virtual currency. It has no real existence. Bitcoin's price is always variable. If Bitcoin's price was at a fixed price, it could have become a real currency. Bitcoin we can trade online.  I think it's too early to talk about the collapse of bitcoin as a currency. He still has everything ahead of him and we will see it, it will be something!

Why do people say that the coin failed when it takes the first line among all the cryptocurrency. Just need to wait and not invest and immediately withdraw from the deposit. Drawdown gives any coin and this market is no exception.

when the capitalization of the crypto currency will be trillions then there will not be such market volatility, and it will be possible to talk about bitcoin slowly replacing the Fiat currency.

well i think bitcoin does not yet failed as a form of currency becasue there is still future a head on Bitcoin in terms of its system. I think people need to embrace the fact that Bitcoin could really function as a form of universal currency that could deal with transaction for future. With a better system and market through the help of the blockchain system and its volatility and I believe most of the Pioneers who believe in the crypto could begin to accept bitcoin payments. When this is successful more investors will begin to join and companies will love to accept bitcoin as a means of payment.

Yes that is right that bitcoin is not yet fail as currency, although still most of the people are using bitcoin as for investment and trading , but i think when bitcoin users will increase too much then they will give preference to start using bitcoin as currency and then they will even feel it more better than to use bitcoin as fiat currency in their daily life.

I think in a business there must be a period where the boundary point will go down maybe even to the point of being destroyed, just as in trading there must be supply and demand as part of the fluctuating movement of trade, but this bitcoin is unique, where the prospect that we know nothing Significantly Bitcoin, which until now the office and founder of bitcoin itself is still mysterious, I think it will be a mysterious thing in the future, I can not predict anything about this bitcoin in the future

I think not bitcoin is so volatile that it is not suitable for use as currency and means of payment. and most people prefer to use fiat money for payment instruments. and also all countries in the world already have their country's national currency. so I think for the next few years bitcoin will remain an investment tool.

I do not believe that Bitcoin is only good for investment, Bitcoin is a digital currency from its inception. It will be continuous and beginning from today, Bitcoin is as of now in good shape and one day I'm certain that Bitcoin can be utilized as a money like utilizing the current USD Dollar.

I don't think so. There are still people using bitcoin as a currency, so it didn't fail. But it's not a rule or a law that ones you use bitcoin you only do it as a currency. Of course, some can use investments in bitcoin, its their decision to do investments rather than currency. Maybe they see it much better than currency.

I think no because bitcoin is used for online transaction and the price of bitcoin is not stable, but if bitcoin become stable maybe it might be possible that bitcoin will become currency, but for now, there's no chance that bitcoin will be used as currency.

The other reason every country have their own currency so where do you think the country of bitcoin?

Bitcoin is decentralized and we couldn't just credit it to China or other countries as their currency.
I think it can be accepted that btc today doesn't take the function as currency fully like fiat money. It can be ysed only for electronic and online transaction for short term.purpose. It is because of unstable price But this opportunity might be realized in the future after global regulation created and btc adoption formally.

Well saying that bitcoin has failed as currency is not good for my eyes and ears. I don't think like that cause for me it is really helpful. Maybe you just expecting something more and you became disappointed. It's too early to justify its legacy so wait until it rise again. Maybe you just experience its downtrend.
