Excellent asiki, it is a pity that they can not be found so easily in free sale and in an apartment you can not put, neighbors will go crazy

How long between when you received the refund email and the BCH showed up in your wallet?  I got an email last night (June 13th) at 9pm, said to expect refund around June 12th but nothing so far.

Same here

Yeah, we received a few emails saying that they have sent the bitcoin cash, but we haven't received it yet. I'm going to wait a few more days before contacting Bitmain.

My BCH refund is pending now, looks good.

Ya... I got mine yesterday as well

We should do class action against bitmain, they scammed us, not telling us that poor rigs can beat up our ASICs.

My almost two year old laptop GTX 1070 is making 750 H/s at 115W ... for a week now.
3x 1060 3gb in a not so optimized rig make 1000+ H/s at 360W for less than half of what i paid for the Antminer B3 (1060 can achieve 500+ H/s)
I expected more from Bitmain...

Really?! That's insane Shocked

How many BTM per day are you getting for each?  Earlier people with GPUs were reporting similar hashrates to the B3 but lower payouts due to more rejected shares.

We need new firmware to increase hashrate.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

Dear Bitmain,

I feel somewhat cheated ... I paid $1322 + 20% VAT ($1600 total) with a coupon (regular price was $1672 + 20% VAT)
And this so called ASIC Miner does 1000H/s per 380W
GTX 1080TI for $800 does 1000H/s per 300W at the wall
my two year old laptop GTX 1070N does 750H/s per 150W at the wall (total paid for the laptop 2 years ago $1600 total ... Tornado F5) It is a whole freakin' laptop FFS
my rig with 3x GTX 1060 does 1050h/s at 380W at the wall (total paid for the whole rig $1000)

Do you get where i am pointing at?
Release an update for the Antminer B3 that improves the hashrate to levels that outperform the GPUs per Watt or release a 100% refund to all the B3 purchasers.

I am highly disappointed and lost all my trusty in Bitmain with the release of this B3 miner that is for AI research, developed specifically for Bytom costs so much and in the end beaten by a 2 year old laptop that costed the same 2 years ago, and is 2 times more effective per watt than the Antminer B3.

15min 24hours
Antminer B3
968.000 hash/s   981.000 hash/s   0.5%   2018-06-19 12:02

GTX 1070N
725.000 hash/s   707.000 hash/s   0.7%   2018-06-19 12:03

Dear Deathwingbg,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Our engineers are aware of this development and they are currently looking into it.

We hope that you can understand that Bitmain builds and sells ASIC miners to cater to the market needs. As stated on our website, the hashing power of B3 after the firmware update is currently 1000 H/S, and we did deliver what was promised to our customers. We hope our customers understand that ours is a very dynamic industry and we do not control all the developments. Bitmain will continue to improve on our product technology and stay ahead of the competition.

Based on a number of other forums, we are finding that the GPU mining is not uniformly stable. Some have more success than others.

If you have not already upgraded to the latest B3 firmware we recommend that you do so: https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720180519161243572MB78lOGz067A

As suggested by the article, https://www.crypto-coinz.net/bitmain-b3-miner-cracked-and-ported-for-nvidia-gpus-strike-back/ the GPU is running based on our software for B3.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional questions. We thank you for your business and wish you a great day ahead.

Best regards,
Valerie
Bitmain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Valerie,

So you (Bitmain) are well aware for almost a month that:
3 x GTX 1050 that cost ~500$ will produce 900 H/s and use only 210 W.
Compared to the BITMAIN B3 ASIC 760 H/s for 360 W for ~1500$

Do something about it! Fill your boots or issue refunds to all those scammed customers of yours out there.

I would assume that for someone with 5+ years of experience in crypto ASIC hardware you are well aware that ASIC should be way more effective at a certain Crypto algorithm than the GPU hardware.
You develop an ASIC for a specific new algorithm and do not test the performance against a 2 year old technology for GPUs ?  ?  ?  ?
Then you offer it to your customers making promises you cannot fulfill !
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application-specific_integrated_circuit
ASIC is supposed to be way more effective then General Hardware

You could have stick 4x GTX 1050 chips on a board instead of the 12 x chips in the Antminer B3. and sold it that way... for better results.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK !!!

Disappointingly yours,
Pavel Parushev

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Deathwingbg,

At the time that we released the B3 it was the most powerful option for mining Bytom. Some individuals exploited out open source code and successfully adapted it for GPU mining. While we support open source, it does leave our technology open to exploitation.

While some miners are experiencing a competitve hash rate with GPU mining, it is not clear if GPU mining provides the same stability that ASIC mining provides.

As we explained earlier, this is a dynamic industry where technology moves quickly and products might be overtaken by new developments. We released our B3 miners in good faith and provided accurate specifications as to performance. We do not plan to compensate against developments that took place outside our company.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional questions. We thank you for your business and wish you a great day ahead.

Best regards,
Valerie
Bitmain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Valerie,

I understand it is a very dynamic industry and a new bigger better ASIC may come any other day (happens all the time for the past 5 years)... i am watching the "revolution".
I also understand that those headlines that the algorithm was hacked are just for the buzz. As you said it is an open algorithm.

However the one thing i do not understand is how Bitmain placed 12 (supposedly expensive) chips in a box (supposedly ASIC) without researching the algorithm possibilities and being soundly beaten by a General Purpose Hardware such as GPUs (that you can use to mine 1600+ crypto algorithms, play games, play 8K video, crack passwords, etc.).

Two independent "Hackers" (Developers) were able to introduce GPU miners for Bytom. None of the Bitmain development team was able to do that in the past several months or at least research the possibility behind it. As a Business Analyst i think this is the very first step to do when offering a so called ASIC to the market for a completely new algorithm.
You and the creators of Bytom created the market need for Bytom miners... You worked together with them on the algo and then you say some lame "hackers" hacked the algo and made it more profitable to mine on GPU. Come on you must be joking.

I have been mining bytom with GPU for the past 3 weeks ... on the two different bytom miners ... and i assure you ... the Antminer A3 is the most unstable between the 3
( Accepted Shares 1000 ... Rejected 20 000 !!!!)
And my hash rate has never been more than 980h/s even after the upgrade.

So that makes me wonder what makes those 12 chips that were specifically developed for mining Bytom so expensive if they are beaten by 3 inexpensive graphics cards (chips) that are almost 2 years old.

If you make/produce Application Specific Hardware (ASIC) you first make sure it is better (more cost and power effective) than the General Hardware (GPU) and even then the Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). It is not serious for the world leader in ASIC production to claim that the algorithm they worked in co-operation with the creators of this very algorithm (Bytom) and soundly promising they are the only one to offer Mining hardware on this complicated AI algorithm. To be beaten in less then a month by some "Hackers" that simply ported the algorithm to a GPU.

It is like boasting you offer a super expensive super computer, with great CPU and GPU power that you can use specifically only for AI research, selling it to the people (how did you call it to the market demand YOU created) and then being outperformed by a 2 year old Laptop that costed less 2 years ago... now costs half of what you ask for that supercomputer. Sounds like a joke right?

I also never mentioned that when we received the Antminer B3 for the first time ... it felt like an incomplete product... no FAN control (auto or manual) a lot of rejected shares... this never changed. You know the percentage of Accepted shares is something like 10% ... Rejected 90% and you are talking about stability? For my GPUs it is something like 95% accepted 5% rejected.

Not very kind Regards,
Pavel Parushev

At least yours works. Mine burned out the controller card two weeks ago; finally got the replacement today and it burned out within three minutes. Have another ticket open with them, but considering that I got maybe two weeks of mining in and, now with cards doing those numbers, it's probably barely profitable to even run it once I finally get it working again? Without some kind of fix or remuneration on the part of Bitmain to remedy the situation, I won't be ordering from them again.

(And this isn't longterm forum bitterness or newbie anger, I am generally neutral to actually defending Bitmain in discussions, and this is the 7th antminer I've bought, and the 5th direct from them)

Thank you very much for your feedback which I've already escalated up to our management this morning and we really do appreciate your comments and information very much.

This means new products may quickly be challenged by products that are faster or more efficient. We trust our customers to follow developments and make sound purchase decisions based on their specific needs. There are still valid reasons for choosing the B3 ASIC miner over GPU mining.

You made some salient points in your email, but we cannot address them without getting into a discussion of our internal development processes.

We understand your position and would like to thank you again for your valuable input.

Very good, mate... B3 is really a shame right now! Undecided And bytom wallet is the worst and heaviest wallet I ever used. Sometimes I think that "strange" things are happening in the background.

Valerie says that there are still valid reasons for choosing the B3 ASIC miner over GPU mining.
Lol what are those reasons ?
Bitmain already has a bigger and better real ASIC and they probably have the frimware to upgrade B3 too but they will only realease both of them when they have mined enough BTM.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

FUCK BYTOM and FUCK BITMAIN

B3 now makes LESS than $1.00/day.....Units are LESS THAN 1 MONTH OLD for fucks sake.

That means it needs OVER 4 YEARS just to pay for itself...no chance for profit.
