The biggest threat to Bitcoin comes from its own deficiencies and not from any of the alts. The scaling issue is not yet resolved. And we don't know when it will resurface once again. I haven't quite forgotten what happened in December 2017. Users were paying up to $50 for just one transaction.

But this is no longer an issue. Bitcoin transaction fees were never above $3 since the end of February 2018. Right now you can pay around $1 for an average size transaction for it to be confirmed within an hour and sometimes it's only $0.25 these days. And that's not because we have much less transactions now than we we had in December 2017 - January 2018. The number of transactions per day was fluctuating between 230k and 450k back then, and now, April - May 2018, it is between 150k and 250k.

I think Ethereum is not a threat to bitcoin as it performs very different functions. Ethereum is a platform for the functioning of smart contracts and even if ever the Ethereum capitalization becomes more than bitcoin, in the cryptocurrency market nothing will change and each coin will be used for its purpose.

I don't the Ethereum posses any threat to Bitcoin yet. Its a good coin with a huge potential bu Bitcoin is far too established to be under pressure form ETH. there shall come a time when its completely developed, but still it wont be as good as Bitcoin is Wink

it might be, because I see the token's potent etherium is bigger than bitcoin and I think it will be the thing that bitcoin users will get less and besides that bitcoin really needs a lot of capital to hold it and give big advantage on users while etherium is very much different with bitcoin.

I really like Ethereum it is popular and has good capitalization, but bitcoin is the first and most famous among ordinary people) Ethereum should try very hard if he wants to be the first

Bitcoin and Ethereum have different project purposes. But for me Bitcoin is still far ahead than Ethereum even though Ethereum is also being used by many altcoins for transaction purposes and etc.

Bitcoin will remain on its throne.
Bitcoin is still one level above the Etherum. Although current Etherum continues to show a positive thing but the value and market it has is still far compared to the market share owned by Bitcoin. But I am actually optimistic with Etherum, yes it may take up to several years to get a better view of Etherum development. Both are the most popular and most popular coin today. So choosing both is not a mistake, investing in Bitcoin and Etherum would enable us to be able to achieve a much greater advantage than investing in coin / ICO project that exists today.

I think BTC dominance will continue to drop BUT, I also think ETH will start to lose its dominance over other protocols like NEO and EOS over the next year or so. ETH really needs to start scaling or it will be left behind by similar coins with better tech.

I like Ethereum, don't get me wrong, but it's decentralized nature really slows down the decision making process and at the min

Assess the prospects of bitcoin, it is necessary from the point of view of the possibilities of its network, such as commissions and speed. But, the Ethereum crypto currency has a different set of characteristics by which it needs to be evaluated. The future of the Ether depends on the speed of development of its competitors, such as Cardano, and the success of the startups already started on its platform. But, in comparison with bitcoin and other altcoyins, Ether has one advantage. Demand for it is constantly supported, thanks to a number of ICOs selling their tokens based on the ERC20 protocol, which can only be purchased for the Ether.

People are only care about the comparison of ethereum and bitcoin from the price and marketcapitalization. But they don't even understand about does it make sense to compare orange and apple? It doesn't make sense at all to see apple as a threat to orange. both has the different taste and it's irrational in my opinion.

I don't believe that Ethereum will be threat to Bitcoin in any way. They have a lot of differences and the price of Bitcoin is more than 10 times the price of Ethereum.

Yes, there is no conflict between them. On the contrary, they all have great complementarity. The market has been affected by their ups and downs.

Ethereum is not a threat to bitcoin. Both of them stand on their own technology . Erc 20 is used for ethereum. Many small altcoins are there which are using this technology of ethereum. People are liking it. These both are a big part of the market.

Ethereum does not pose a threat to Bitcoin. First of all, Bitcoin still occupies the first market position. Secondly, Ethereum and Bitcoin are in different directions. Bitcoin tends to be a payment method.

Both ethereum and bitcoin have their own users and we can't say that ethereum is a threat to the bitcoin existance. Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency and it will remain as it is till the end.

No it is not.
They are 2 complaetely different things.

BTC is used as currency as store of value , as asset as symbol of crypto world.

ETH is used to build tokens and offcourse some small part is used for the same reason as BTC but i cant see how ETH could possibly threaten ETH in any way.

They are both attacking different parts of the market. So I would disagree.

This is definitely a good observation but I would advise you to keep in mind the world is rarely that black and white.  The sets of functionality each posses are not disjoint!

They attack different parts of the market AND they attack some of the same parts.  This makes them compete AND not compete.

Keep in mind dialectics.
Ethereum is currently priced below Bitcoin. so to be said as a threat Bitcoin still notable. because Bitcoin will be different if there are other coins have prices above it. and for a coin that has developed quite rapidly. bitcoin will always improve its development to compete. so Bitcoin has no threat.

I think it's not because I know if the price of Bitcoin declines in Ethereum goes up then I think it's not a threat, and so now the bitcoin price still has not gone up and the price of altcoin in the recovery period so I'm sure Bitcoin will be stable again and be good in the future
