Is there a white paper or more info on it (trying to avoid digging through 26+ pages on original thread)?
there is no white paper yet, but you can find some info here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.msg3659712#msg3659712 .

This is why everyone needs to run a local node. When too many miners are on a node and the node goes down, the network slows down.

...it is much safer too run it locally... I run local server, and it stuck on 3072. If I run clean install, it stuck on 3043.

Nice, but the holdings seem to be multiplied by 100x (ie. every account has two extra 0's).
Yes, I hadn't noticed that. It appears that this is how the API sends it. Can anyone confirm? API returns amounts in cents.

Is there a website or a logo/slogan for the currency setup? Just curious since I don't see the ref in the OP's post.
We will establish semi- /official website within approx. a week, that will consist of a forum with advanced features (including NXT tipping) and something very very nice. This thread is getting cluttered, will attempt to set up the forum ASAP to for clearer progression of the Nxt project. We just reserved the domain nextcoin.org. Co-operation offers are welcome. Nxt needs a good coin logo. We already crafted a payment button "badge" that can be freely used to display acceptance of NXT. Because of that the exchange is delayed further one+ hour but it's worth it, right? Official client uses this icon: http://88.198.210.245:7875/icon

I had to because the application is so unstable, I've ran it on two seperate computers and it fails pretty horribly sometimes. So much that I have to delete all the *.nxt files.

Run your own nodes locally! When you all use one central server, it makes the network reliant on that node. How to know if somebody is mining on my node?
Block port 7875 to prevent others from mining on your node.

Block port 7875 to prevent others from mining on your node. I don't want to block anybody. I want to know. Is there some command or api in the client?
