Hello friends, I have finally completed a brand new profesionally looking introducing video for the Nxt hompage. It took me 6 days and long nights (one day up to 7 AM), but finally here it is: http://wideo.co/view/1504591387756502643-nxt-generation-of-cryptocurrencyIf you think the video deserves any bounties, donations or thank you gifts for my effort, Then my Nxt is: 15003961341330858247 this is really cool, donating... thanks Excellent video. My donation is on the way. Thanks for your hard work, salsacz !!!
thanks + I thank to neer.g and Klee And I thank to rickyjames and joefox for corrections, I still need to recover a little from the video marathon (Wiki translating actually isn't a vacation too ), but soon there will be corrected version + many other pieces of video art. So promotion donators/sponsors will be always welcomed Good work! I'll send some of my NXT I obtained through forging your way

Authority doesn't simply show up usually. It slowly grow. Any kind of global voting (loser's votes go to trash; up to Murphy's law your opinion/point of view will be there for sure with some time) can push us in that direction.
I don't wanna rely on any people for just keeping my acc unfrozen in decentralized payment system. And u do?!
Another thing: for outside attack compromising system with help of VS can be relatively cheaper to 90%+ attack or DDoS or black PR.

22k.io Alias Browser and URL ShortenerNow with alias typeahead!I'm still hacking along with various fun features. One of these days I'll do something with the design, but I'm keeping it practical for the moment. Alias accountA small, cool update: the account that owns an alias is now displayed on the "info" page. Example: http://22k.io/22k/infoSomeone squat your name? Try this: 1. Visit http://22k.io/YOURALIASHERE/info/. 2. Grab the account number. 3. Search forums for the number and send them an offer PM (if you find it). In the future, I'll work on some "standards" for naming aliases so you could find contact info for an account by looking at it's list of aliases for one containing "contact" in it's name. Typeahead GO box!1. Visit http://22k.io/2. Type in a letter and watch in amazement as aliases appear. 3. Repeat #2. MASSIVE time saver to check if a name is registered. Enjoy! You'll be so productive that you can't help sending me some nxt to keep coding! 22k dev account: 4915862015826193000 Thanks! More ideas? PS - This is just a demo server setup. Please don't kill it.

Brilliant! The Typeahead Go box! I wanted to do something similar today as well, but didn't had the time. What I wanna see is a register with ALL aliases. (Make Sections with A, B, C, D, ...) Also I wanna see a searchengine like your GO box. But I would like to enter some string and it will show me all aliases which contain this string. (URI AND Aliasname)

Very nice! I'm a major aliasholder and could not be happier with all these features! Being able to put contact info would be good, although I personally would prefer that to be optional. I can imagine a scenario where I decide to keep some aliases for myself and not even want to negotiate. I would be unhappy with constant requests if I would sell, in that case. I'm also thinking of a way to hire/rent out aliases, basically the way a domain now must be renewed every year. However, that constantly comes up against a huge trust wall where I can imagine someone would be wary of putting his redirect in my care. Can someone comment on that idea? Maybe it's just total crap.

If you hold many GOOD aliases then you could create such a service. People have to pay NXT to decide the URI of a few of those Aliases for a month. Good idea.

I'm a major aliasholder and could not be happier with all these features! <3 ferment !!!! still waiting for someone to code a multi-line (not single text field) batch process for aliases. That'd save me days upon weeks of time. however, that'd probably support a lot of greed though; It wouldn't take too awfully long to assemble a list of 50k names... I did 2k+ in my sleep last night Also this would help with double/tripple checking an alias. I've inputted several id's & they weren't "taken" or denied but they never registered in my account... lag or a bug, idk. This is highly annoying when all your Accepted's aren't technically registering... so you get 1/2 or 3/4 of what you wanted (false accepts) and you don't know which fucking ones didn't register ... am I going to go through hundreds of terms AGAIN one by one just to find a few glitched unregistered-registered aliases? nah So yeh, an accepted and denied list from your batch would be VERY helpful to confirm these things until everything smooths out. edit: maybe it's my low deadlines are causing this

I'd think I own a fair share of both good and useful ones. Of course there are the usual vanity aliases, too, with which I will probably do nice things like contests to create some buzz in the community. No need to cash in on those, but fun to make someone happy with. And there are probably some totally useless ones, too. Time will tell. edit: mnightwaffle: Tell me about it! I've spent days finding and entering mine!

You could charge for every hit coming from your alias. Like 0.000001NXT per redirection, or similar. So he only has to pay when the redirection already occured.

Typeahead GO box!
Pretty good One quick suggestion: hitting enter (or clicking go) after typing in some characters should always default to that alias (especially if such an alias exists), not something longer. For example, you should just be able to type 'ami' and hit enter; at the moment doing this defaults to 'amitie' (at least on my browser). This is the behaviour people expect from Google.

Something like this seems fair to me. Especially in the startup phase it would allow people to use the aliases they need, and give the owners something back, too. Win-win.

It's not pretty, but you can use a script like this: (adapt as appropriate for uri and deadline) #!/bin/bash
key=mySuperSecretKey
while IFS=, read al pr do echo "Alias: $al (max price: $pr): " curl -vk "https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=assignAlias&secretPhrase=$key&alias=$al&uri=&fee=$pr&deadline=180" echo done < alias.csv And to check them: #!/bin/bash
while IFS=, read al pr do echo -n "Alias: $al (max price: $pr): " curl -k "https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=getAliasURI&alias=$al" echo done < alias.csv Example alias.csv file (alias,fee):

Two scenarios:
1) No VS. Like today no one can do nothing about someone else's NXT, only two options: hacking (of any type)/bruteforce. From hacking any sociaty'll be protecting each one and all — non-legit. And from potential single enemy (whole system still can collapse anytime, u can't get rid of risk) I financially defended until bruteforce-breakthrough is revealed (say, aliens),
2) VS here. At first step potential enemy can organize representative democracy: leader and driven people/coins, at second step manipulate 51%+ of leader's minds against someone else. Legit way.
Lack of decentralization.
Agree with "tea". For now for me it's unclear what the hell is that feature is really.
Well, not completely agree even with "tea", if I wanna choose tea for myself I'll look for spec-forum, I don't give a penny what a some billionare thinks of tea if I can't know is he spec or not. Money for voting only seems suitable in buisness: how to spend dividends (to which acc and how many)? And that's all. (I've nothing against some board with opinions in plain text proportional to wealth, but it'll be partitially non-useful info, cos specialism in anything doesn't stable correlate with wealth.)
Again, I;m not sure what exactly the feature is either. But I assumed that if I wanted to know about 'tea' I would pay to put that to a vote and people who vote would not pay anything.

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community. This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

You are just frigging insane. 500 million NXT will vote for the benefit of NXT network not to froze your pity 100K account. I don't care which acc it will be, even DDoS'er acc, even some criminal's. I suggest to completely avoid possibility of that kind of thing happening. Which benefits u're seeing in option to freeze someone's acc? How that connects with decentralization? PoS+TF defend system even against 90%+ of collected coins attacking (bad forging, what else from inside?), why add to this option of freezing anyone's coins? Also help 500 million NXT helps outsiders to DDoS the network ? talk about madness. Wut? I'm talking about compromising system (in eyes of potential and existing users) by creating bad-looking polls with high enough votes. Like, yeah, "freeze that acc, shall we?". In the end that strategy can cost pretty low against price of 90%+ attack. If network'll become strong enough compromising through VS can be even cheaper than DDoS to hundreds of thousands nodes. At least it seems so to me.
