This is an alias feature request.  Right now an alias has one entry.  For example, at the time of this writing:

  nxt:publicnode -> https://node1.nxtbase.com:7875/

but I'd like it to be able to point to all the public nodes:

  nxt:publicnode
     -> https://node1.nxtbase.com:7875/
     -> https://node11.nxtbase.com:7875/
     -> https://node21.nxtbase.com:7875/
     -> https://node31.nxtbase.com:7875/
     -> https://node41.nxtbase.com:7875/

for example.

We could use json array syntax in the URI. Then it would be a matter of the alias parsers to detect that it's an array and pick a random one (or some other strategy).

A simpler approach is that I just setup multiple IP addresses in DNS. I'll play with both tomorrow.

Great job, however something very strange: why is my google alias showing wrong info and account?
http://22k.io/google/info => uri: http://nxtcoin.wordpress.com/ ?? Have I been stolen after 720 confirmations? I doubt so..

SIMPLE IDEA:


1) Implement voting as we DO NEED A FUNCTIONAL ASSET EXCHANGE ASAP!


2) For Freezing accounts we need MINIMUM THRESHOLD OF 75% VOTES -- 750  Million Nxt....if we get 749,000,000 ...no freeze.


3) To destroy we need MINIMUM THRESHOLD OF 90% VOTES -- 900 Million Nxt


51% can be use for normal votes...routine business Exchange stuff....but the 2 exceptions above should be set in stone.

We need to differentiate between active accounts/nxt and passive accounts/nxt to correctly implement a voting system.

For example, if there are 4M total accounts holding NXT (Distributed in parabolic decline from 1-4M respectively, with account 1 holding 1 NXT and account 4M holding 2M NXT) if accounts 1-3.99M vote to do X and accounts 3.991-4M to not do X (default vote), X will not get approved.

However, if account 4M has been inactive for 1 year, or a fluid amount of time commensurate with the duration of NXT's lifespan, it should get approved if account 4M has not even had the chance to vote...

Voting is a great idea, as backed by Plato and Socrates, but if a system were to be implemented it needs to be dynamic, not static.

Looks like the prices are back to normal again and can trade at the old market price.

Was 4 huge sell walls at a huge discount price. Was going to buy them but was too late for all of them (clicked one after another to find they were sold...).

Yes. The restrictions affect new orders, not buying existing orders from the board sent in before the limiting rules.

I believe they were new orders though. Unless I misunderstand. But the prices were all placed on the "Sell Levels" side of the buy/sell sheet and were at the top of the sheet. They weren't placed on the "Buy Levels" side. Which is why I noticed them.

Maybe I can be corrected though

We need to think this thru clearly....but do bare in mind that there are many account holders which are holding NXT for long term appreciation so although they accounts are not active they are very much involve with Nxt development.

I don;t think a bad person can get 90% of Nxt currency units in their hands....the Nxt ecosystem won't allow it.

We should enumerate 3, 4 fundamental bullet points -- layman's terms -- differentiating NXT from BTC. Also differentiating NXT from the 999+ other alts.

Maybe I'm completely misreading the crowd here, but we seem to skew heavily tech/geek. Many popular/heavy traffic political news sites will post the occasional bitcoin headline grabber but not follow the actual 'issues' that NXT will address. If these editors grokked the issues, we could receive heavy coverage.

NXT as a sovereign tool to free us from fiat's grasp. Sounds overblown, but it's true. This issue -- 'sovereign entity' vs. 'corrupt fiat system' could gain traction quickly.

I'm thinking places like reason.com, libertyunbound.com, etc.

One site that is heavily trafficked that we would have a good chance of getting a mention is instapundit.com, a libertarian/law/general news aggregate site that promotes 'small guy' issues quite a bit. We just need a cogent introduction and a portal for these editors to visit.

The professor/lawyer/writer that runs instapundit is Glenn Reynolds -- he recently wrote a book called An Army of Davids (alluding to David vs. Goliath). This guy understands technology, but also understands larger issues (i.e., the Ukrainian protesters sandwiched between the EU and Putin.

We really need to get info to guys like Glenn. NXT can be mentioned alongside tech like RasPi... it can also be mentioned alongside austerity measures, quantitative easing, protests, etc. We need to think big.

Think outside the blockchain.
