i guess im just too dense but I dont get how its supposed to work.  I see that you send a message from your private account and the API gave you back a TXID but doesnt the receiver need to use their passphrase to decode it??  You example Ive just quoted just have get Transaction.  Is it not encrypted?

The source code for client version 0.4.7e was released 10 days ago, it is available at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4287127#msg4287127 and while there have been newer released versions which have not had source released, the signing algorithms that we need expert audit of have not changed.  And it is possible for a java decompiler to decompile the latest version 0.5.5 at http://download.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.5.5.zip if you so desire to do so.

Unfortunately there is no official white paper however there is very very early draft available at:

But unfortunately, as I said, it is an extremely early version with no math/proofs in it.  There is also an article I am submitting to coindesk/bitcoinmagazine available at

we from NXTarea.com created an avatar & signature creator. We currently have 5 designs for both. You can enter nicknames or text up to 16 symbols. The avatar size is 100x100, the signature size is 300x80.

This is to promote NXT further though the world wide web. We have to bring the NXT logo to everyone.

Currently avatars are deactivated on Bitcointalk.org because of the recent hack. I'm sure this will change in the future!

The avatar size on nextcoin.org is 65x65, not very nice. If someone want to contact the admin please do it, to change it to 100x100.

On forums.nxtcrypto.org it isn't allowed to use a .png avatar. I created a thread to let it changed. So please contribute to the thread!
