Hi
As the temperature is rising, so is the noise and temps of my S1's

Do you know of i could add these at either end of my S1's in a push / pull formation
http://www.corsair.com/en/air-series-sp120-pwm-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-fan-twin-pack

hopefully reduce the noise and the temps
I currently have temps of 50c and a fan speed of 3240 (OC'ed to 375 190GHs ish) which is getting a bit annoying now - I can even hear them echoing in my head when I'm at work lol

Yep, will get about 6C off the temps. Alternatively if you only have a few you can do the cooling mod (reverse both boards so the heatsinks both face outwards, then 2x120mm per blade blowing directly onto each heatsink).

Thank you, i'll go and get them tomoz and report back  Grin

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

That description is not very helpful, perhaps you can tell us what problem your having or if you do not understand a step.  Also screenshots can be helpful if your stuck at a certain point.  But we need something to go off of as the above description does not tell anyone anything about your problem.

Just fyi I was in the thought to do this and bought titan fans with 78 cfm. The problem with them was that the screws on both ends hit the fans. I was under the impression that the default fan used 103+- cfm .  I'd hope all I need to do is find a nice way to space the fans out so they don't hit.

I still hope like you seem to hope that putting fans in that position will quiet these antminer and keep them cooler.

Edit FYI #2 rubber screws work but stink at being easy to put in so borrowing one of the screws from an unaltered fan may be necessary unless you can use the rubber and the spacers.

Any idea what fans will report speed to the antminer?

Like the info address for potential tips Wink

I think that the first fan it will be a little bit more noisy from the new one, cause its temp sensor is nearer in an hotter spot

If you look at the screws on the fan side of the miner, one of them is not a hex and sits flatter, if you found more screws like that from old pc parts, you could try replacing them and the fans shouldn't knock against them.

You can probably get away with not running an antennae, but wifi instructions are in the OP.

Remove the "http://" part in the server field (so it will be like this "stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333")
Also check that DNS are configured properly, and after that simply try a reboot

I tried using the wi-fi on my S1's with lots of errors and lots of downtime/reboots.  Connected up to direct connection in my switch once I ran an ethernet to the basement and everything is working great now. Been running 3 of them for about 6 weeks now without a glitch.  I am setting up 4 more at my office tomorrow and I may try out the wi-fi and see if any improvements have been made since I got my original one back in December.

By adding one of http://www.corsair.com/en/air-series-sp120-pwm-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-fan-twin-pack
Fans in a pull config to my S1's, my average temp drop is 8c (one dropped 10c!)
Probably hoovering out up to 5mm of dust from behind each fan has probably helped massively too.....
They've been spinning since December lol

Avg fan speed is now 2000ish and I can now hear myself think again.
(I suppose you don't notice them gradually getting louder until it is ridiculous)

The only downside is the fans didn't come with the correct length / diameter screws, so i've cable tied (zip tie) the fans to the pull end
There is also a ridge on the 4 pin that needs shaving off (carefully with a Stanley knife)

Does anyone know the fan screw size for ordering please? So i can finish this properly, cable ties are handy but not what i'd term as a permanent fix.

Thank you Dogie
the desired effect has been achieved

Screw diameter doesn't really matter as all the holes are passthrough for a long, generic threaded bolt with a nut on the end.

You still have to worry that at least one of the holes has a resistor right behind it on the open side,so yea length and size do matter.

Ugh, not sure what I am doing wrong but I am having problems getting my Ants "online"....

Pool 1-Slush
Pool 2-BTCGuild
Pool 3- Slush via stratum proxy and multiminer on a scrypt rig

My router died last night (WAN port failed) so I setup a temporary wired network with an old crap wired router. Picked up an Asus RT-N66U router today and have been pulling my hair out trying to get the Ants to see OUTSIDE the LAN. Tried pinging Google.com with the diagnostics but get "bad address" report.

Currently, my network setup is...

Cable Modem--->Asus router--->TPLink 8 port switch--->Ant 1
                                                                        --->Ant 2
                                                                        --->Scrypt rig

Router IP. . . . . . . . . . . . . . :192.168.1.77

Antminer 1 IP. . . . . . . . . . . :192.169.1.101
Antminer 2 IP. . . . . . . . . . . :192.168.1.102

scrypt rig/stratum proxy IP. . :192.168.1.79 and port 3333

from IP config...
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.77

I am losing 20% of my hashrate with the Ant/s mining via the stratum proxy right now.
Not sure what I am doing wrong here, just been a long 30+ hours messing with my Ants/network
Apologies if I forgot any info here, my brain is fried right bout now!

Thanks!

Edit: LAN and WAN are both set to STATIC and are NOT bridged in the settings(though I am trying that now as they were bridged before the router died). Not using wifi but I was before the router died (wifi as backup only) and prior to my router crapping out, my 2 Ants were up for over 6 days no issues.

Okay, I think the BRIDGE  between WAN and LAN ports fixed my issue.
Time to move on to Antminer1!

Set your Ants to DCHP, it'll make your life much easier. And why are you running them through a stratum proxy - that would explain a lot.

Just buy another one, it'll save you a headache later. Get a CX 750.
