You can't simply generate dogecoin through some software. There are faucets that can give you some dogecoin (you can't get rich by doing these tho) such as http://freedoge.co.in/ .

You may try mining but thats not profitable since it can be a bit hard to cover the electricity bills just from mining. You can sell things for it or offer a service these are the fastest ways. Might want to do service or sell for bitcoin or any other alt where you could find how to earn some and then trade them to dogecoin later on.

With doge you can have lots of something instead of just of a fraction of something, also the transaction fees are negligible, only of 1 or some doges, good for daily payments and tips.

Of course doge doesn't survive only because of the meme, that is old

Dogecoin is PoW coin which means that it releyes on mining same as bitcoin, it is not PoS aka proof of stake that allows staking. Basically it is ordinary coin with infinite supply (there is not a cap like bitcoin), faster blocks and cheap fees. It has big comunity and they tend not to be only in there to make money but I see that their community is doing some work for charities and trying to help around as they can to promote the cryptocurrency and dogecoin. Also seems like that devs are back and are looking forward to release new version this year - in future they even might adopt SegWit.

I think that they done something to prevent this by having AuxPow aka merged mining with litecoin, but I don't really know technical details in full about this topic.

I do not think dogecoin will reach 500-1000 satoshi this year. I think at the end of next year dogecoin is priced at 500-1000 satoshi and I would not believe dogecoin will cost $ 1 in 2030 because dogecoin is distributed a lot
