I'm wondering; isn't it a security risk to ship the client with
Code:
server=1
daemon=1
and a default rpcuser/rpcpassword set? This way you can connect to any dogecoind using the default login and issue RPC commands like "sendtoaddress". The use of the RPC server is not restricted by e.g. allowip=127.0.0.1

Am I missing something?
Post full default conf please.

Please review my Dogecoin investment post I made days ago, this was questions I was asked in PMs, please send cheap Dogecoins to my Wallet. Wink

I have been making these low price predictions for sometime now before the eventual rise.

big wall on cryptsy, I can only say:

http://youtu.be/YtYdjbpBk6A?t=1m34s

the whales are still trying to push DOGE down a little more so that people will panic sell and they can buy cheap DOGEs.
Nobody cares, only the noobs lose this round.

Without a meme , what you say doesn't make sense.

before I get started -- I haven't posted an ad in this thread in several days. I won't spam, just need to get the word out somehow. Cheesy

We do not have the high hash rate that some pools do. We're currently between 100 - 200 MH/s, and we'd like to grow that a bit. Right now, every block is an adventure, which is exciting in its own right, but it scares a lot of people off when the occasional block takes several hours.

  • I will be giving away a total of 50,000 DOGE when we reach 200 MH/s.
  • I will be giving away a total of 50,000 DOGE when we reach 300 MH/s.
  • I will be giving 1% to block finders.

P.S. In addition to all this, I'm just throwing coins at new miners in this thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=391190.new#new

https://chunkypools.com - POT | WC | DOGE | MUN | RPC | DEF | DGB | KDC | RUBY | POT | STP | SPN | PCN

1% PROP - SSL - custom MPOS - profit-switching port - single-sign on - great IRC community - scalable architecture - no downtime

Unless you copy the file to C:\Users\[YOUR_USER]\AppData\Roaming\DogeCoin the config will not have any effect. I believe it was included as a reference to help (solo) miners get going on coin launch.

You are correct in that you need to change the values if you intend to copy this file over and use it, preferably with restricted IP addresses as you mention.

Quick Start

Start with registering on our pool & creating workers for your computers. You can use our automated config generator in our workers page and download pre-configured files for your mining software.

EU Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://eu.coinum.org:3334
US Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://us.coinum.org:3334

CGMiner Configuration

Here is sample CGMiner configurations with fail-over support. Given that the stratum server you use fails, your miner software will continue to work with out other stratum server.
Note: You have to change WORKER and PASS with your actual worker-name and worker-password values you get from workers page.

EU
Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13

US
Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13

  • Our network - We already operate first class & high performance pools, check our other pools over http://www.coinium.org
  • %0 fee - Our network have no fees! We just kindly ask you to donate if you like to.
  • Stratum servers - We have stratum servers in Europe and  United States. Right now we have a total of 4 servers (2 stratum server, 1 webserver and 1 database server) and we are quickly upgrading & adding new servers to stack when we need to.
  • Fail-over config support - In case that the stratum server you use fails, your miner will just continue to mine with our secondary stratum server.
  • DDOS Protected - Our servers are DDOS protected 7x24!
  • Automated backups - We get automated backups of our system.
  • Automatic payments - You can set automatic payments if you like to.
  • Fast confirmations - We are quickly processing your transactions once newly found blocks are confirmed.
  • Automatic config generator - Check our workers page to automatically download a generated configuration file for your workers with fail-over support!
  • Continous support - We are eager to help our users! You can ask for support in our forum topic.
  • IRC support - We have operators in our IRC channel and you can chit-chat about mining too.
  • Mobile friendly - We have mobile friendly user interface so you can check your miner's status from your mobile devices
  • Contests - We are regularly creating contests and giving bonus coins to our miners!

Difficulty adjusting algo can be changed to counter multi pools. Its called "anti multi pool patch" or "anti flash mining patch". Some scrypt coins already have, DOGE will get it sooner or later.

With multi pools stopped, DOGE value will raise.

any coins with implemented that?

The new difficulty algorithm will keep the multipools from jacking the difficulty up and abandoning the coin. The benefits of this should be obvious to all involved.

You may be wondering why the block time was 'changed' to 60 seconds. Blocks were already being generated at this rate due to multipool influence. Since the coin has been launched, the multipools have been wreaking havoc on the difficulty, causing less blocks to be created each day than what was programmed in. If you check the block explorer, typically around 1400-1600 blocks are being created per day, this averages out to about 60 seconds. To avoid a sharp increase in the supply rate, the new rates have been created with this in mind.

Changing the block target time to 60 seconds keeps the generation rate in line with what it has been. The same amount of blocks will be generated each day. However, the key difference is that now the blocks will be going to dedicated StableCoin miners, and not to the multipools. This benefits the miners, of course, but also benefits the investors/speculators. When multipools mine, they instantly dump the coin at market price. Steady miners are less likely to do this.

These new settings will also decrease the amount of orphans/rejects experienced, as blocks will have additional buffer time to propagate the network. This is especially important as we move into more and more foreign markets.

So, all in all, we have the same amount of coins being generated, but with more of them going to the steady miners, and less being dumped on the exchanges. A win/win scenario for everyone - except the multipools, of course.

It looks like DigitalCoin implemented an update against multipools too.   I wonder if they were successful?

DigitalCoin and Sexcoin are massively successful now:

1. just think of all the Digitalcoin and Sexcoin you currently own!

2. think about all of the Digitalcoin transactions you did today!

3. think about all of the megahashes of mining equipment you devoted to Sexcoin today!

Flawless victory: getting rid of those wicked miners that produce currency to speculate on.

Honestly this is the best thing that can happen for Dogecoin, i have mentioned on many occasions that multipool miners are only interested in dumping the most profitable coin at the time.
Once mooncoin hits the exchanges dogecoin will get some relief.

That is true but the value is 1/3 of what it should be because of the way the block rewards was done.

+1

i can either

1. cry about multipools, miners, exchanges, 'relief' for dogecoin.

2. make money.
