Any bets on how low the Dogecoin network hashrate is going to go after the halving?
It's around 75GH/s right now, so I am going to guess under 35GH/s by the end of the week.
Bye bye network security... one block value halving at a time.

I'm guessing 80GH/s, because moon Seriously though, the vast majority of alts have less than 5gh/s, and succesful attacks on them are quite rare, so 35gh/s - which represents about 8000 gridseed blades - would still be quite safe, because someone who has access to that much hashpower would not profit at all from jeopardizing people's perception's of altcoins' security. Also, if the hashrate falls dramatically in the future and network security is in danger, Dogecoin as an active development team which will take care of the problem; implementation of PoS has been discussed as a solution in case of force-majeur.

For simplicity's sake, we don't count those coins that will be mined after 100 bln. milestone is reached, because that number is not significant (only 5 bln. per year, which translates to total supply of 130 bln. in 2020, so there will be a sharp dropoff in newly mined coins with each halvening and even more so when 100 bln. milestone is reached). To compare, Bitcoin and Litecoin will have higher inflation numbers in 2015-2020 than Dogecoin.
Back to the point. 75% coins will be mined in 5 days, which is an awlful lot, and we have all seen the price bounce from 90 satoshi low a few days ago, which clearly shows strong demand at that level and all that supply is not able to push the price lower than 90 satoshi. In short, there are enough people who believe in Dogecoin and who have a lot of vested interest to make it big. And with the miners not being able to dump a lot of coins after the second halvening, the price has nowhere to go but up. Not reach all time highs yet, those will come after July.
