That would be wonderful since there will be less reward per block in another 300 or so more blocks.
I plan on holding the bulk of my Dogies until rewards are set at 10k each.
Although, I will continue to spend them as needed.

Indeed , anytime... Just inset much wow such amazing into the code , have a dog swing his tail around and it will happen.
But seriously , the dev realized that he designed the coin with an inflation rate two months after the launch so the who the hell knows what the coin will do when mining ends. ))

Turning an established coin to pos is a real pain in the ass and in the case of doge i don't see it as that great idea.
