It's the users problem, not the dev's. If the price was higher, the hashrate problems would be fixed. So the best thing that can be done for Doge, is to buy them to increase their value, or contribute in the dogeconomy by selling services for doges or convincing business to do so, or by mining, or by convincing your friends to buy dogecoins.

so they plan to artificially boost the price by cutting the supply....pretty sad. I wonder if they would increase the block reward if the price got too high, most likely not. All they care about is boosting the value and not letting the free markets decide the true value of the coin. Fuck that shit.
DOGE is shit and so are the devs. They keep messing with it enough and people will just walk away from DOGE.
Stop messing with the block rewards. DEVS are acting like central bankers messing with the value of the coin. I would suggest you guys take this DOGESHIT out back and put a bullet in it.

Calm down, this is not going to happen. The community does not want to modify the block rewards, this was just a dev's idea, on which the other devs do not agree.

Discussions about merge-mining with Litecoin seems to be popping-up more since the last few days on reddit. What are Bitcointalk's investors opinion about that?
I believe that this would be a good back up plan to consider on the next halvening, if the price keeps dropping. This would probably reassure people on the security of our network. It is indeed true that many LTC miners will dump dogecoin instantly, but since the block rewards will be lower, this will still be much less of a problem than the current multi-pools. Also, the miners who focus on Doge would dump instantly the LTCs, so nobody truly loses.

A lot of people are very keen to invest a lot as soon as the network is secured. So price will have a nice rise without artificially inflating it by messing with the supply. Merge mining is the most sensible option.

The Chicago Sun-Times will allow tipping by dogecoin! "The third experiment — and it is exactly that, an experiment — will involve using dogecoin as a conduit for tipping journalists on specific articles. Mr. Metnick said they’re going to move slowly — the initial trial may simply involve the tips going to a given journalist’s preferred charity. He acknowledged there were “editorial ethics” involved, but he feels dogecoin tipping is becoming “the new like,” and somewhere down the road this might even comprise a “fundamental business model change.” http://blogs.wsj.com/moneybeat/2014/05/16/bitbeat-bitcoin-conference-sure-doesnt-lack-for-news/

Since then, nothing about the coin or the community changed in a negative way. So why the anxiety now? I'll be truly happy if it falls to 40, and you should too, because that would mean that the coin will be way undervalued compared to what you think it will reach; that's a perfect investment opportunity. There's been some concern about hashrate since a few weeks, but it is not a problem at the present (40 gh/s is way more secure than all the other scrypt coins except ltc). I have faith that when it will truly be a problem, the community will allow to implement mesures such as merge-mining with LTC.

When the price rises people get greedy and buy too much at high levels. Near historic (or medium-term) lows many people are way too scared to buy a lot more. ^^^This is why most traders lose money....Shhhh....Don't tell the noobs. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

It's common that some people are afraid to buy after a downtrend because of worryin it will go down further. But really? People buy at historic heights? In fact the largest sell volumes came at those historic heights when it comes to doge coin. After all te hype wore off I don't think there were any bigger massive sell orders than the ones @ ~ 200+ satoshis.

After all te hype wore off I don't think there were any bigger massive sell orders than the ones @ ~ 200+ satoshis. But really? Most traders lose money long-term, but that doesn't mean "the masses" are always wrong. At major turning points when Bullish/Bearish sentiment is 80, 90%+ is when it really pays off to go against the crowd People buy at historic heights?Of course, some do expecting much higher prices. Without heavy buying at 170, 180, 190, the price would have never gone over 200. Also at/shortly after a high of 250 (for example) you get many people who think ~230 is a good price when it is probably a big mistake. I don't think there were any bigger massive sell orders than the ones @ ~ 200+ satoshis.True, with such a large supply, sellers were wanting to ride the trend, but did not want to miss the one great chance to sell.
