Guys - we need someone from CA who got scammed to step up and be a plaintiff. As far as I know it's just a matter of putting your name on a legal document. Probably a short conversation with the lawyer for basic info. With that, we can get the subpoena(s) and identify Phonetic. I'm not sure how much further I can take it without someone to do this bit. Possibly the lawyer can use someone from another state. CA evidently has advantageous laws for this situation. Maybe there are other states, not as good as CA, but that are worth trying if we can't get someone from CA.

For me it's not about recovering any money, just exposing the scammer. As it stands if this keeps happening 1) it's going to become an easy target for scammers and 2) we're never (at least often not) going to know if we can trust the pools we mine with.

If we identify him, not only can we expose him publicly, we can file an Internet Fraud complaint with the FBI. After that I don't really care what happens and I don't expect to retrieve any DOGE.

If this further results in retrieval, you and whoever else has claim to the retrieval bounty. I don't want to make it sound like you are some selfish shibe in it for the money(that's fine as well ), but the bounty is something to think about. I hope you will consider helping

Hello all, I sincerely hope we get our DOGE back, or at least punish this shady pool operator. Aside from automatic and manual payouts breaking in early january, I foolishly did not manually pay out when I had the chance in December. I mined DOGE on doge.scryptpools.com for the very first two nights and two days, making a little over 1,200,000.00 DOGE in ~48 hours.

If I can somehow get my DOGE replaced, I would be happy to give 200,000 DOGE.

Username on doge.scryptpools.com is 'patsoft' withought the quotes. Please add meto the bounty list for 200,000 DOGE upon retrieval of my > 1.2 million DOGE.

I contacted most of the bitcointalk moderators.  None responded.  I also emailed the administrative contact for the domain and asked them to forward my response to the forum administrators.  No response.  Those are the options available to a white hat.

They haven't responded because they are not legally obligated to disclose that information. In fact, that's why he hasn't been ID'ed yet to begin with. In order to obtain information from web hosts, system admins, etc. the information has to be subpoenaed in a court of law. The criminal / civil case has to already be filed with a judge in order to get a subpoena. So, logically the only way to pursue this is to have someone step forward and add their name to the John Doe lawsuit, and once that is opened then the information can be retrieved. If you want a good example of how this all works, simply google any news relevant to Coinye and the ongoing lawsuit they are facing.

Aside from that, if you don't have someone with more grey/black hat skills to get the info, then there is no way to get it and you will not be able to "convince" anyone out of the kindness of their heart to disclose that kind of identifiable information unless they have a personal vendetta. Sucks, but it's the truth. :/

I don't know what exactly happen but i guess it's about some multiple payments thing ... ?

this is my 3rd time that i lost my coins with kind of pools/hacked stuffs ...

for scryptpools i have some small amount like 20k doges in it ... but i feel that there might be some peoples hurt very well for sure
(i got hacked via gox for 15btc and stuck in bitparking for 37 btc , 2,000 nmc this mean lots for me because i can't find it again easy)

if all that being said are truth i feel sorry for the pool owner but .. you should fix it to the right one ...

( maybe you should explain the technical stuff why this happen ... ? while others pool not effect this one ? who made the mistake at first stage ? )

i don't think all peoples are evil at money stuffs (even money is root of evil) if you show the logs who you payed in double ... maybe they can give you back ?
( this will work for all cases but it was for some peoples that prefer the right thing over the greed)
